What was supposed to be a relaxing…

What was supposed to be a relaxing stress free get away to witness the birth of our 1st grandchild turned into the worst most expensive trip from hell..i honestly hope no one has to go through the hell we went through on our last trip booked through travelocity... Lets start with the original attempt to book our airfare advertising 166 round trip from okc to phx key word was advertising not actually a price you can get but they make you think you can so after a 1/2 a day waisted trying to reserve 4 seats it was a complete fail..so the price we actually got stuck paying was 1500+ and had to drive to dallas 2.5hrs away vs leaving okc. So on the 24th we drive to Dfw and are there 2hrs before our flight all checked in only to sit and wait another 3hours for our flight to leave of course causing us to miss our connecting flight in LAX we arrive in LaX at 6:15 given a possible flight we can catch at 6:30 landing in terminal 4 but the 6:30 flight is in 5. After racing to 5 all we found was plane had left and went to counter to have the airline find us a new flight to Phx no one cared no one in a rush infact the clerks were playing like kids together why we sat waiting over an hour for them to get us flight info we need to get to our destination but another failed attempt next plane left to phx at 9:30 but had 15 stayby already. So we are yet again sitting waiting for flight details for the 1st available flight to phx that doesnt leave until 6am the 25th..i am told our luggage is down in airline office but just 1 of us needs to go due to not being able to come back up with out boarding pass..so i go and they are still waiting for some answers to where we are going to sleep until 6am how are we gonna get there whos paying for the phx hotel room that we were charged for even though we never made it to phx. So i go to pick up luggage but im told i have to go to another terminal to have it pulled and thats takes 2hours. So now we have no cloths or tooth brushes or meds until we make it somehow to phx. So our luggage being in a office waiting was a total lie and now i am stuck downstairs by myself in Lax waiting another hour + for the other 2 im with to get some hotel info and tickets for our 6am flight. We get to a hotel at almost 11pm we have what is on our backs and we have about 4 hours to sleep before we get to continue this nightmare. So now the next morning 3:45 am in our same cloths no brush or tooth brush no phone chargers nothing but us we take a shuttle back to lax and check in and make our way to our terminal 45min before departure and we see a large group of people getting in line at our gate and then the screen comes up as Chicago being thr destination..no one told us our tickets have this gate number on all of them and so now we are again in a panic trying to figure out why the passes the airline gave us have the complete wrong gate and after running around in a panic we find out our gate is in a totally different wing of the airport..so back to running around we actually make it to our next flight and later that day we made it to phx but at this point our trip is already ruined and not 1 person with airline or travelocity or hotel and rental car in phx gave a damn that this event was out of our control and we were charged even though we werent there!

worst buying experience ever

worst buying experience ever, I booked an international flight thru them with jet blue, apparently there is something called a pre authorization on your payment and the actual purchase, Travelocity submitted two separate transaction for my airfares charging my account twice for over $1,500.00, well done Travelocity, this is the way to keep your customers loyal to your brand. I don't even want to mention the poor service over the phone and the horrible response to my initial contact, they even promised to call back.. I'm still waiting..!!! I have to notified my bank of the fraudulent activity and stop any further activity from this company

Website stated the payment was unable to be processed but account was still debited

Website stated the payment was unable to be processed. Said to try another card. Used a different DEBIT card and had the same error message. Checked my bank account and Travelocity debited my account TWO times. I called them an they said the funds would be released after 7 days. That’s unacceptable. They should have never placed a hold on my account if they said the payment was unable to be processed.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. I had to change a flight. The agent kept me on the phone for two hours and completely misrepresented the cost of the airfare. The company reviewed my complaint and rejected it. The entire nightmare took 5 hours of holding on the phone. Trust me, you want to use another travel website. If you use Travelocity you may end up paying thousands extra.

3 week 7.5 hours on the phone …

3 week 7.5 hours on the phone Communication Nightmare! My husband and I booked a flight and one of the connections changed causing us to potential miss our connecting flight to Dubai. Travelocity stated that they would make the changes but three weeks have passed and no one reached out to us. By the third phone call and 7.5 hours on the phone we finally got the issue resolved. Each time we called they had made no effort in resolving the issue until we finally had to escalate the issue to a supervisor. Our trip almost didn't happen.

Car rental nightmare !!

Booked a car rental (pre-paid) on Travelocity for Orlando “Right Cars” was the name of the car company, it was a great rate. I arrive and am waiting for the shuttle to take me to the car rental office and no one shows. I called Right Cars and was first told my reservation was canceled because they had no more cars THEN she tells me “are you from Florida”? I said yes, she replied “you’ll have to pay a $2000 deposit and limit to 50 miles per day”... I replied “if you have no cars and my reservation was canceled why are you telling me about your deposits and mileage limits especially when It wasn’t listed on Travelocity? I then booked via Travelocity a car at Payless and it was only $40 more. I booked it at 12:50pm for a 1pm pick up (I was already at the car rental area). The man at Payless said that reservations on third party sites take 2 hours to download and if I want a car it’s at the “walk up” rate. That rate was $160, I said no thanks. I then went to Advantage Car rental and was able to get a car for $120 including tax and fuel. I then called Payless and made a formal complaint that my confirmed reservation I made on Travelocity with a 1pm pick up was not offered to me at the Payless counter. I am requesting from Payless the difference between what I reserved via Travelocity and what I ended up paying with Advantage. What a huge fiasco. My suggestion, pay a little more and only rent from rental companies who have locations on airport property. A lot of the others seem to be scams.

Failure to advise that flight was changed; failure to communicate and refund

I will not be using Travelocity in the future. I booked a round trip flight with them for me and my brother. When we arrived to take the return flight, the airline advised us that the agent (Travelocity) had changed the time of our flight to one that had left three hours before. We had to pay $400 to another airline for flights the next day, and another $150 to stay at a hotel for the night. Upon return to the States, I called Travelocity three times. I spent hours on hold and speaking to them. They promised repeatedly to send me an email resolving the issue. To date, I have received no email and no refund. I think I will end up having to sue them in small claims court. Broken promises (they promised to email me if the flight changed-- they did not), awful customer service, and a rip-off. Be careful out there.

Failure to Book Flight and Horrible Customer Service

My sisters and I booked round trip tickets to/from Hawai‘i. We received a message from Travelocity regarding a change in flights and confirmed the changes. When we arrived at the airport to return home, we were told we weren’t booked on the flight even though we had the confirmed itinerary from Travelocity. Then we were informed we weren’t booked on any return flight. We called Travelocity and spoke with a customer service rep and her Supervisor. They were both rude and unhelpful. We were delayed by 23 hours, costing us a day of work and additional travel expenses. They never even apologized for their screw up!

Use Expedia Instead

At 8:37 p.m. I went onto the Travelocity website to book a trip. I went through all of the questions on the website, chose a hotel room, and outgoing and return flights. The system shows me a price of $914.00. Then the little wheel started to spin while the system claimed that it was downloading information. 40 minutes later and the wheel is still spinning. I decided to call and make the reservations over the phone. Spoke to agent #1. Gave her all of the information that I had already input into the system. It suddenly became difficult to understand what the agent was saying; not sure if it was my phone or her phone, but her solution was to hang up on me. Called Travelocity back, this time from my cell phone. Luckily, the agent had logged the information into the system. Went through all of the details with agent #2, but the price had increased to $1087.00. Gave her my credit card number. Oh, the price went up a second time to $1140.00. I am mildly annoyed, but I told her to book the ticket. She comes back and tells me that the system would not allow her to book the itinerary that the system had generated. Oh, and the price had increased again to over $2000.00. I asked for an explanation, after all, the system had picked the connecting flights. Must not be much of a system. She transfers me to Customer Service. Customer Service cannot even find the itinerary in the system. I know that the itinerary is there- I'm looking at it on my computer. Customer Service transfers me back to the main menu without warning. I have now spent 2 minutes short of 3 hours trying to book this trip. I hit the prompt and asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor can't find the itinerary in the system either. How is it that I'm the only person who can work their system??? I ask for an explanation- why can't their system determine connecting flights that will meet the requirements set by the airlines? How can the price increase four times while I'm waiting for them to input information into the system. Suddenly, the phone connect goes bad and I can't understand what the supervisor is saying. This company doesn't even have a decent phone system. I was able to understand her when she told me that the price had increased again, to $2240.00. Are you kidding??? She suggested that we stay in a hostel instead of a hotel to get the price down. I hung up on Travelocity and called Expedia. 3 minutes later I am completely booked with the original itinerary, including the original hotel, for $1100.00. I have to wonder how Travelocity is still in business. I also have to question their hiring requirements. If you value your sanity- CALL EXPEDIA.

Travelocity is a nightmare to deal with …

Travelocity is a nightmare to deal with - the reps have no clue what they are saying, will accuse their customers of lying even when the customer offers to provide the information to them. They do not access info from their own website to provide better assistance. They hide fees and charges on their page - you have to click little links or scroll all the way down which should be information provided to you before booking. All fees and costs should be disclosed when viewing a hotel room. They show once price then all of the hidden fees and deposits etc., are not provided on the same page where you input your cc info, which is deceptive. The prices for airfares may seem low but come with a whole bunch of restrictions and the travel insurance is a waste of money. Then they offer you a hotel for 50% which turns out to be the same price if you booked it directly from that hotel, so no savings at all. In the event the airline cancels the flight. If you do call customer service you will get a guy name John in the Philliphines who is reading from a script, barely knows what he is talking about and using ambiguous words like if, maybe, sometimes to not answer questions directly. This company is a mess.

Terrible company

Terrible company. Their customer service is utterly inefficient and unhelpful. I bought a ticket to Russia through Europe with two stops in the Schengen zone. For all I knew, as long as the stops have a transit zone, I should be fine without a Schengen visa. However, at the airport I learned about a "funny" rule that prohibits touching two countries in the Schengen zone without a visa regardless of the transit zones. I expect my travel agent or a company selling me a ticket with two stops let me know in some way about such a rule, since it is pretty hard to expect such a random rule to exist. Anyhow, it took their customer support an hour to tell me what I already knew and what I started the conversation with - that there is such a rule. After that point Travelocity was unhelpful and openly hostile and rude. They would refuse to allow me to talk to their manager or give me their manager's name. They would transfer me to another customer support person lying that it is their manager. My experience with them at this nerve-racking moment was nothing short of terrible. I will never ever use their service again. Or a similar service really.

I booked a hotel room online while at …

I booked a hotel room online while at the same time having a customer servicerepresentative on the Phone. Well the only reason I was booking this room was because the screen kept having a pop up saying that if I booked it now I can get 12% off. So I did I booked it. But not realizing until after I payed that it did not take off that 12%. So they ended up over charging me. I called back right away and they said they couldn't refund me. And charge me again with the 12% off. So long story short they gave me the run around and ended up keeping my $1,100.00. And I never used the service. I was at the hospital on those days of the reservation having surgery. They false advertise and they are a ripoff... never will I book through travelocity. You all watch out. Bookit.com has never done that to me.

Made my first and last reservation …

Made my first and last reservation through Travelocity. Had to cancel a flight because a meeting was cancelled due to a stroke of the company president who called the meeting. I had purchased cancellation insurance through Travelocity and I am certain that somewhere on the web site it provided the small print explaining the rare and limited circumstances under which it can be used - so shame on me for not reading the fine print. So all I needed to do was cancel the flight - with no argument from me. It took 27 minutes to cancel a simple reservation after connecting with a representative. The rep took 10 minutes to tell me a "supervisor" needed to be involved in the process, then hold, then go through the same info with the supervisor who finally made the cancellation, then with nearly 5 minutes while he tried to send me an email since nothing was actually showing on-line as evidence of the cancellation. Bottom line: worthless trip insurance and highly frustrating customer "service." Never again...
