Travelocity-Philadelphia to London- wonderful!

We booked air, hotel and activities for travel from Philly to London Heathrow in Aug. 2017..no problems at all...after reading all these negative comments and complaints, I would have been hesitant to use Travelocity, but I honestly did not have one problem. Maryjane Miller

This is the second time I'm trying to process refund after purchasing insurance. This company is the worst, they populate travel deals often notthe best price, and make it impossible to get assistance when needed.

I'd give less than one star if I could

I'd give less than one star if I could. I bought travel insurance and had to switch my flight. John was helpful in getting me my refund and then called me to book a new flight. It was $200 more expensive but hey, I had to get home, right? And I was the one requesting the change in the first place. So, I say book it. I thought he had and after about 5 min or so of checking on a baggage policy, John asks if I'm ready for my new itinerary number and then says... Oh!! I am sorry but your flight will now be $100 more. We go off live rates and the price changed. Ummmmm what? You were supposed to charge my card 5 min ago and now you're saying between then and now, prices changed over $100? He said there was nothing he could do about it. I work in customer service, there's always something you can do about it! So I ask for the manager, he says I am the manager. I said, well John, we have a big problem because you literally quoted me a price and asked to charge my card and then oops its $100 more than you quoted? He again stated he had no control and his hands were tied. I'm usually a calm person but I was livid. I asked if there was another supervisor I could speak with and he said he was the only one there. Then got this flippant attitude with me. All of a sudden he didn't care to help me and I got off the phone almost in tears... I'm sure some was pregnancy hormones but still. Ended up going and booking my own flight with delta for cheaper than his original quote. I will tell everyone I know to stay away.

I will never do business with…

I will never do business with Travelocity again. Beware of fraudulent advertising. I saw a AAA 3 Bedroom Convention Center Luxury Condo in Las Vegas for $190 a night. I grabbed in. When I went to confirm the charge I did not notice in the small pop up window that they added a $220 condo fee! Ridiculous, condo fee over twice the rate for the room. It was non cancelation. Soon as I saw the charge, not fifteen min later I called Travelocity. They said it was not in their hands, they contacted the condo office who would not refund. They suggested I call the condo management and I left five messages and my call was never returned. Called Travelocity again and they would not take responsibility and refund my charge even though the add was on Travelocity and my credit card was charged by Travelocity. My transaction was with Travelocity and not with the condo company. I spent hours over the phone trying to resolve this. Both Travelocity and AAA tourism engaged in misleading advertising and will not take responsibility for it. STAY AWAY FROM BOTH

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. I booked a flight for my partner from Atlanta to London. Paid for a premium economy ticket. He wanted to change his return flight so i called Travelocity to make the change. The first agent I spoke to didn't understand the simple concept of a day change and asked me if I would consider another airline. I told him no I simply wanted to change the ticket I had. He told me he would have to refer me to his supervisor. 40 minutes on hold later and I got through to a supervisor who changed the flight. Only problem - he downgraded my partner to an economy ticket erroneously. i only found out when I went to the airline website and saw his seat in economy. Imagine if he had gone to the airport and been told there? Awful. I called Travelocity again. Once again had to wait 30 minutes for a supervisor to deal with me. He acknowledged that the change was their error but I had to call back when corporate was open to make the change back without it costing me. i have now called back for a 3rd time and have been sitting on hold for 40 minutes and counting without anyone actually connecting to a human. DISGUSTING that I have to be inconvenienced this way to fix something that was THEIR error. I will NEVER use this company again and would advise any one else to avoid like the plague. The few dollars you save on the flight is not worth the hassle.

Don't use Travelocity

Don't use Travelocity, we used them for an important trip to a wedding in another state - made and paid for reservations (airline, including reserving seats in February for a June travel date), only to get an email the night before we left to check in and when we did, we discovered we had no seats!! So I had to scramble and pay an additional fee just so we could get seats. Try going direct to Airline websites or using Kayak or Orbitz, before you use Travelocity. And, by the way, calling Travelocity "customer service" the night before our June wedding trip to find out why our reserved seats were "gone" was a disaster.

Stay away from Travelocity.

Travelocity could be an exceptional organization. But not when something goes wrong. And not with me. I booked an International flight with Travelocity early March. A couple of weeks later I was emailed that one of the segments with the flight from Dallas to Colorado Springs - was cancelled. I would have been stuck in Dallas. They assured me they would rectify this situation. After about two weeks of emails, I finally received an email that said it was fixed. They found another route, from Chicago this time. Resolved - or so I thought. As I approached my trip just 3 days away, I looked closer at the itinerary and discovered that the original cancelled segment had indeed been corrected, I would return via Chicago. However, a different segment had been omitted. I had no segment from Istanbul back to the US. Now I would have been stuck in Istanbul! I called Travelocity at 3:20pm. I talked to 3 different people up the ladder before I reached a supervisor in the Corporate office (Helen) who acknowledged that a Travelocity agent had made a mistake and it was not my fault.By now it is 4:30. She said she would work to resolve this problem. I had been on and off hold for so long (over 2 hours) that my phone died while I was on hold with Helen. I got a voice message from Helen with a call back number. That call back number said, "This is not a working number." I had to call the main Travelocity number and start at square one. Only this time my hold times were even longer. I was routed to the various levels again due to the expense of this problem. And with each supervisor level the hold times were over an hour. I finally got back to the Corporate office and spoke with a new person Rosie. She explained there was no direct lines back to the Corporate level and immediately took my phone number if we got cut off. Rosie was great. I was literally on and off hold with Rosie for 3 hours and 41 minutes - from 5:30pm to 9:15pm. She continued to check in with me every 10 min. as she did whatever it is she got my segment reinstated. It was clearly Travelocity's fault, and I did appreciate their owning that. Kudos to Rosie. However, Travelocity failed big time. Someone dropped the ball and allowed one of my segments to expire - therefore stranding me in Istanbul. It did cost them $2,000 to resolve this. I am grateful it got resolved. But it took up most of my day. I will not use Travelocity again in the future. I recommend that others avoid them too. If there's a problem, be prepared to wait and wait and wait, hold and hold and hold, before there's a resolution. Plan on most of the day. Travelocity is a large company. Come on, there's got to be a more efficient way to handle problems, especially when it's an employee's mistake. Again, thank you Rosie if you see this. Sincerely, Shari

They don’t honor their promises

I have been using travelocity.ca for about twenty years Travelling on business. Last week I was looking to reserve a hotel in Quebec city something happened and my dates were wrong. After being on the phone with customer support for 1 hour they changed the date and sent me an email that they honor the price the site gave me in the first place, following receipt a copy of my bill. I reply with my receipt and now they said they can not honor their promise. I will never deal with them in future. They are dishonest, unorganized and I can not trust them anymore.

They can’t handle problems

Made airline reservations in Feb 2018 for travel in Aug 2018. I never use my middle name or initial, so just used my first and last name on the reservations. My passport, however, does include my middle initial and friends told me that would be an issue. In Apr 2018, I contacted both the airline and Travelocity. They both assured me there would be no problem. Contacted both again in May and June. Same story - it isn’t a problem; don’t worry. Last week I had my confirmation interview with TSA for Global Entry and the TSA officer told it would be a MAJOR problem and i wouldn’t be allowed to board. Contacted the airline again. They finally got back to me today said to have Travelocity handle it. I just spent 2-1/2 hours on the phone with Travelocity. They now tell me that JetBlue is affiliated with one leg of my flight and they don’t allow name changes. My only recourse was to cancel the original flight and rebook a new one. Because I am now one month from travel, this rebooking cost me an extra $620. If Travelocity had been able to take care of this back in April, there would have been no or at least a very minor change in the cost. I explained this to the Travelocity supervisor who said he was sorry and could send me a $50. coupon. I told him that was a far cry from $620. and that I will not be using Travelocity or Expedia ever again. Yes, it was my fault in the beginning as I wasn’t aware of the name issue. But had they taken care of it when I first asked, it would have much less costly both in time and money. Never again!

Book using Travelocity - THINK AGAIN

I rented a car abroad in Romania using Travelocity. Total rental price for 11 days was 90 $ plus Travelocity insurance at 11$/day overall pretty reasonable price. After flights and connection times over 20 hours, I reached to Otopeni Airport in Bucharest Romania. Looking for this rental company I realized they do not have an office in the airport. I was able to contact the company: Economy Rent a Car by phone and after about 1 hour was able to get to the car rental location. Here I am asked for a passport, credit card and driver license which I provided immediately. The asked me to sign the deal in local currency but I realized the price is way higher the equivalent of 680$ plus a 710$ deposit (instead of 90 $). I was not told about any change in price prior being asked to sign. I wanted to cancel the reservation but I'm told it is too late and I have to pay in full. They explained to me the new price includes bumper to bumper insurance and they told me next the car is an upgrade. I didn't ask for an upgrade I wanted the car TRAVELOCITY advertised on their site with 8$ a day. What should I do now tired in the middle of nowhere? Lose the money and look for another last minute car rental on another company which could be way higher? I signed for the 645 $ and the deposit. On top of that gas tank was half full and not full as stated in the contract done through Travelocity site (have picture with at the time of pickup). Next day I called Travelocity and reported the case. Customer service told me they will try to get a refund for me so I pay only the initial price which sounded fair to me as long as they couldn't provided the car I needed. Called back after a couple of days they told me may take longer because and have to be patient. Called them abroad about 4 times then after I got back another 2 times. They asked for the receipts which I sent them. On top of that I was asked my story about 2 times each time to first customer service and then to the supervisor. At some point a supervisor offered me 200$ coupons from Travelocity to have the case closed. I didn't accept because the damage was way higher and in my opinion a respectable company should offer full reimbursement and protect the customers who are making deals using their website. Next a Manager explains to me I this is between me and the rental company and Travelocity has nothing to do with it. So I rent a car using travelocity at a price, and a different more expansive car is given to me at the destination with no option to get what I initially asked for or to cancel because they couldn't fulfill my request. Finally after 2 weeks and half after spending hours on the phone repeating again and again my story Travelocity responded to me they can't do anything and it's my fault because I accepted the upgrade. I advice people to be very careful when they do business with Travelocity because they can be in similar situations. Totally disappointed with Travelocity and the service they offer.

Thieves

I setup a package for my wife's business meeting in Washington DC. I booked flights, hotel and transportation. I apparently clicked a later day on the calendar than what I intended. I then immediately called the service line for assistance. I was hung up on the first call. The second call I requested a supervisor and was assisted. She was very kind and helpful however to make the needed changes was additional $700. This of course did not add up to the nightly posted Hotel fee nor flight fees as I even added the $72 insurance fee for this reason. I asked for a refund and of course the $72 dollars will still be charged to me. I will be disputing this. I spent two hours to end up with rebooking on a different site. I further intend on sharing my experience and facts to my community to ensure no one has to endure this same issue. Travelocity is not a company to do business with.

Travelocity NIGHTMARE - Still not over!

I booked flights on Travelocity. When I printed my itinerary, I noticed that it stated the leaving/returning date were the same. I immediately called Travelocity and was onhold on and off for over two hours - waiting on managers/supervisors/researchers, etc. Only to be told that it wasn't Travelocity's fault and I'd have to pay $75 per ticket, plus fare difference to change the return date. Because I had no choice, but to pay the difference, I reluctantly and unhappily did so. Then, I waited to get a confirmation email from Travelocity that it had been changed, only to get 3 confirmation emails stating once again that I was leaving/returning the same date. So, I made another lengthy one hour phone call and eventually received a confirmation email which stated it had been changed. However, when I logged onto the Jet Blue website, it still had me leaving/returning on the same date. I WILL NEVER USE TRAVELOCITY AGAIN. I knew my travel dates. I tapped the right ones on the website and somehow it got changed in the process without me noticing it. So, now I am paying $200 more for my tickets!! I am very unhappy! I am very dissatisfied as this was a horrible NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE! From the looks of your Facebook page, I am not the only one who has had a bad experience!

Completely Unacceptable!

We used travelocity for our trip this month. We booked in April and thought everything was all set. We decided to call the hotel a few days ahead of time to make sure our reservation was there, only to find out it wasn't. We called travelocity to discuss the matter and they reassured us that we had the booking. Not trusting it we called the hotel back and the answer was still no! It was late and the hotel reservation department was closed so I called in the morning and spent almost 6 hours while I was at work to get it sorted out between travelocity and the hotel and they couldn't confirm the booking and offered us an option of two different hotels. The hotels offered were a complete joke! One recent review said you had to pay extra for electricity! They were just trying to pacify us. I called out the supervisor on it and got "I'm sorry". At this point I was completely aggravated by the situation and that we were going to pursue a full refund. After there was a series of phone calls and then magically was got our reservation. Unfortunately that was short lived! We were on our way to the airport and I recieved an email saying we had no reservation. I frantically called travelocity and they said to ignore the email. We landed from our connector flight in Toronto to receive another email saying no! And then another as we were checking in at the hotel in the Dominican. We asked travelocity for some kind of compensation for the aggrivation and they offered us $100.00 toward our next use. That is completely awful! I will tell everyone about this and to never use them!

Never Again

I have used Travelocity for several years and not had any problems until now, and the problem is significant enough that I will simply never use them again. In attempting to book a flight, I received an error message that the flight I was looking at was now full, but, now this is important, don't worry you were not charged, and then provided me a link to try and book another flight. Well, come to find out after three unsuccessful attempts and receiving the same error message guaranteeing that I would not be charged for an unconfirmed booking, I look at my bank statement and there are three charges for the return flight pending in my account! This also then made it impossible for me to book this flight anywhere else for THREE DAYS while the system removed the hold for each of those return flights. Meanwhile the cost of the trip itself continued to go up each day. When contacted they were less than helpful, saying that I simply had to wait until those pending charges were removed since no flight was ever successfully booked and finalized. So okay a couple of things here. First, the error page explicitly states that I would not be charged. Second, seriously, three days I have to wait for your mistake, Travelocity? And lastly, this trip ultimately cost me another $200. So thank you, I will absolutely never waste my time with your company again. There is just too much decent competition out there to ever bother with you again.
