Avoid..Disastrous Customer Support

Had a horrific experience with Singapore Airline customer support over the last one week. I am a Krisflyer member and redeemed my FF miles to book domestic tickets on Vistara with Krisflyer. Our tickets were for 3rd Jan and as covid is increasing sharply in India, we decided to prepone our tickets and for that we have been desperately trying to contact their customer support through email, phone, Live Chat multiple times a day since the last 8 days but got no response from them.. So we had to book our return flights on another airline since we were travelling from Mumbai where Covid is increasing very rapidly. Finally got hold of their customer support through live chat today after 8 days of trying non stop during our holiday (Mind you they have still not bothered to get back to us on their own) to tell them that we have booked with another airline and asked them to cancel our tickets and return the FF Miles to our account, instead of being apologetic and helping us they are demanding a miles redeposit fee of 75USD per ticket (which is almost equal to the value of the ticket had we paid cash) that too for their own fault and said they cant do anything about it and either I should pay the fee or my miles get wasted. In the past I have travelled with SQ and have always loved their service but seems like their support and service in India is a disaster and are not interested to help. Their local office is shut and they keep you waiting on calls for 2 hours at a stretch but no ones comes on the line, they dont reply to emails and their chat support too is rarely available and that too if you are lucky enough to get to them, is least bothered to help.Even called their singapore customer care but they also kept me waiting for half an hour without any agent getting on the line.. We contacted Vistara customer support as well but got no reply from them as well. Pls avoid Singapore Airlines at all costs since you should not expect any support from them in case you need urgent help. Extremely disappointed at the disgraceful behaviour from such a large and reputed airline.

What an appalling customer service

What an appalling customer service. I have been waiting for 2 months for a refund- but not a single email was sent to me to apologise for the delay. I have been waiting for almost 2 hours on the phone - still waiting but no answer. 2 of my messages have not received any response. Worst - they have just cancelled my flight in May 2022. NEVER WILL I BOOK ANYTHING WITH SINGAPORE AIRLINES from now on. And pls don't always use Covid as an excuse. It's pathetic!

Brilliant customer service

We booked flights to Thailand back in October to go for 3 weeks over Christmas. I tested positive for COVID, 2 days before we were supposed to go. Absolutely devastated and after calling Singapore Airlines they gave me a full refund. Larrson - the customer service chap was the most friendly, compassionate person I have ever spoken to and given the stress of the situation he genuinely cared for my wellbeing. They didn't have to give a refund as we had complimentary rebooking on the ticket but they did. After this experience I will be booking with Singapore Airlines in the future and will continue to book direct with airlines instead of through 3rd parties.

What a shambles of an airline

What a shambles of an airline. Customer support lines dont provide any ETA on how long to wait, no indication of where you are in line. The support staff have no ability to make decisions and always "escalate" your case then dont bother contacting you to provide an update - they rely on you the customer to chase them up. Their selling agencies don't process flight changes quick enough. They tell you to wait in the hopeful event you might get reimbursed, meanwhile they jack up the prices of flights so that if it doesnt go through you have to pay even more..... I have been put out of pocket over $2000 from this airline due to their poor customer service management. Will never be flying with them again.

Mixed experiences

LHR-Phuket via Singapore. Before travel I was able to change original flight owing to covid. However after changing the flight the airline changed the itinerary so that the SIN-HKT flight departed before the London flight arrived! This meant I had to call the reservations office which was very slow and painful. Even after I explained the issue she had to speak to a supervisor to see if a change was permissable! Check in at LHR took 90 minutes, transfer back via Changi was chaotic and disorganised. Cabin crew seemed to struggle working in the 380 again, several seemed to be in training. Found out their working patterns are truly awful..SIN-LHR, locked in a Holiday Inn for 2 days not even able to leave room then back to SIN...thats pretty inhuman to be honest. Seats, food etc.in economy as expected but overall felt a much lower cost airline to what it used to be.

Flight to Zurich

Flight to Zurich, no more suits, only business available but for the price even more then suits… we had have night flight of 13 hours, and after paying more then 30.000 dollars for tickets ( which is already ridiculous!!) in business lounge there were no place to sit for more then half an hour!!!) we were exhausted and keep asking manager, which came late and looked like a cleaner. He said he is looking like that as he helping to clean ….. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Terrible experience !!! Ridiculous prices !!!!! Dirty lounge …

Can not reach to customer service at all

Well, I have been trying to reach them for many days and last time I had waited on call for 2 and half hour and still not connected. How comes this airlines is being considered as one of the best airlines???? This was the first time I booked flight from them and last time as well. I have always used Qatar and Emirates. They have much better customer services. Beside if your ticket is flexible and try to change, which I have tried they charge you more than website price.

Singapore Airlines og især Catherine har ydet en service, jeg aldrig før har oplevet i mine mange år som flyrejsende. Hun er skyld i, at jeg trods alt har tre hår, der ikke blev grå:-))) Min billet var fra Aalborg til Bangkok. Jeg håber Catherine får Credits for, at jeg bruger tid på, at gøre god reklame for flyselskabet.

Appalling customer service & misleading website ticket sales

After carefully reading the Ts&Cs I bought an advance allegedly flexible refund or rebook business class ticket to NZ online in August 2021 in anticipation of covid border restrictions lifting in Jan 2022 as suggested by the NZ government at that time. Because this will no longer happen until May 2022, together with changes in the original flight itinerary from SA, and with current Covid uncertainty I need to talk to someone to discuss options. Their website of full of conflicting information and their terms and conditions I read at the time of booking changed end of September and now my ticked is magically no longer refundable, and the website wont allow me to re-book a flight on line even though this is permitted. I cannot get through to anyone on their London call centre despite trying for over an hour for 5 consecutive days. Once I got connected after an hour and 15mins wait time and it was cut off. I would avoid booking any flights with this carrier.

Refund waiting period

I'm so satisfied with Singapore airlines refund waiting period. My flight was cancelled 26 Nov 2021, on the 28 of Nov I got an email with a quote of my expected refund and on the 1st of Dec I received my refund.. truly satisfied

Mis-sold ticket from Singapore Airlines to Bali

Singapore airlines will not allow me to cancel a flight to Bali where government restrictions mean I must isolate for 7 days and enter via Jakarta which is as per the Indonesian governments website for entry requirements, they state that the island is still available for travel. I am on a flight to Denpasar with SIA flying in directly to Bali without any mention of the need to go to Jakarta and refuse according to the travel agent to refund as I am ticketed and therfore non redundable. I feel that the ticket has been mis-sold but there seems no recognition of that.

Singapore Airlines has awful customer service.

Singapore Airlines has just unilaterally changed the second leg of a business class flight (which was all one booking) without changing the first leg. This meant that the second leg took off the day before the first leg landed. These flights are next week! It is left to me to contact SA to resolve. They will not let me do anything online directly so I have to speak to their customer service center. So far I've been on hold for 1.5 hours (and then they hung up before answering) and currently on hold the second time for over an hour with little confidence of resolution. This is beyond insanely bad customer service.

Singapore Airlines Flight Pass is great…

Singapore Airlines offering Optiontown's Flight Pass is great. Good initiative to innovate and offer cheaper prices and more convenience to passengers. I have always loved the customer service of SQ and now I love their Flight Pass as well. I have used Optiontown many times before for other airlines as well. Always had a great experience.

Still waiting for a refund after a year..

Booked a ticket for my family to go to Singapore through GotoGate. The pandemic meant the flight was cancelled. I decided to rebook (at additional expense) and that again was cancelled due to the covid situation. I then decided to request a refund. That was a year ago. I'd be grateful if you do the decent thing and provide me with a refund.

Currently very unhappy with their…

Currently very unhappy with their service. I’m trying to get an answer to a simple question which is not answered on their website. Have sent a contact form which will be dealt with apparently in the next 15 days. Not helpful as I am flying in 3. Phone contact leaves me holding on for more than 30 minutes. I paid first class prices for this flight but am most definitely not getting first class service so far!
