Won’t settle claim, won’t accept blame
Won’t settle claim December 2022 we had a mains water leak at the top of our drive the water flooded our front garden/drive and our neighbours property. I had to make several calls daily and leave messages, so did our neighbour to get any action. Eventually the leak was stopped, however the hole was only filled in with back fill and soil. I contacted Anglian water and said it would happen again as there is no tarmac or strength to protect the hole and pipe. It happened again about a month later, we were flooded again. I know our house wasn’t flooded but our gardens and drive were and we have a slope down to our property. I didn’t make a claim at the time but I did advise I might if we find any issues. Eventually we could see changes in our drive, where water sat, damage to other parts of drive edging, we had to replace fencing as the ground had been so waterlogged it had loosened. So we started a claim spring 2023, which was handed over to a second party, which was passed to a third party, which was passed to an fourth party and now we have heard nothing since December 2023. I have already complained because it became clear that this was all about how much blame was ours and whether we could be blamed. I don’t remember turning a water main on for days. Who can say what our property would be like if we hadn’t been swamped, all we can tell is what it was like before and after. It feels as though we are being delayed in the hope we forget and pay for repairs ourselves. We are not the ones who forgot “to love every drop”. If you get the option to be with another company then do it.
