Travelocity BAIT & SWITCH

I used to only book my flights and hotel rooms with Travelocity but NOT ANYMORE! Travelocity is using the old BAIT AND SWITCH routine. You choose Your flight at a low price and once you are done it comes up that the flight has increased. It does this on every low price flight I have chosen.

' Save yourself aggravation! Book directly with the hotel/airline/car rental '

We originally booked our entire trip through Travelocity, thinking we were getting a deal. Our flight from Columbus to Orlando was delayed and then canceled by Frontier Airlines, right before midnight on NYE 2019. We waited another hour (7 total, with 2 kids) at the airport to receive documentation of the cancellation. I then went home and stayed up until almost 6 a.m. trying to book a new flight, with a different airline through Frontier's reimbursement site. I had called and notified the hotel, Cabana Bay Beach Resort that I would not be able to make it for the first night, due to the circumstances. My family and I took connecting flights, the following day to Orlando, arriving in the evening. I checked in at Cabana Bay on Jan. 1st and discussed the matter with the front desk rep, who stated that her manager approved the request for a refund for the first night. It's been several weeks, and I have not received a refund. I contacted Cabana Bay's parent company, Loews via email and and received confirmation from a rep that they would contact Expedia to ensure that I received a refund. I have now been back and forth, at least 10 times with Travelocity reps, receiving all sorts of excuses (after I provided the flight cancellation letter, photos of the new boarding passes and a screen shot of the email reply from the Loews rep) declining to help me. It has almost become completely laughable at how incredibly poor the lack of assistance and customer support are with Travolocity /Expedia. In a day and age when people have the utmost choice in travel, I cannot fathom how you can blatantly steal from customers.

Bait and switch

It has taken me 3 phone calls to change a reservation on a previously cancelled ticket. They may answer the phone quickly but no one can actually answer questions. They are saying that I have to upgrade my class level even though I had booked basic economy on my original flight. The call center is overseas and it sounds as if 50 people are packed into a tiny room as you hear other reps conversations. I have now been on the phone for over 35 minutes trying to rebook a flight. I've been on hold for 85% of the time. Just horrible!

Reference #10115209639

Reference #10115209639 I was charged 4 nights but I was only there for 2 nights and here’s my receipt for being charged 2 extra nights for more per night than the first 2 nights and my itinerary with my flight to Florida I wasn’t there to checkout on the 17th besides don’t you require an authorization!?? I’ve tried resolving this issue with the hotel and now they’ve turned it into a domestic dispute. I deserve 2 nights refunded. This information in regards to claim #‪10115209639‬ is to show my itinerary and details for the dates of January 13-15th and that I was the only person authorized to stay in my hotel room. Nobody else had a room card or access but the hotel. They claim if anything is left behind in the room their protocol is charging 1 extra night stay. They have the option to charges damages as well. I was checking out on January 15th when I received a notification from my bank for a charge of $97 from this hotel. While in line I said I was just charged and I haven’t even checked out so I can get whatever was left in the room and she cut me off saying “I’m charging you regardless” with an attitude. I had a flight to catch so I left and immediately disputed the transaction with my bank getting my $97 refund. How does $97 turn into almost $200???. On January 21st claims called and said I was going to have a $320.66 post to my account that evening for the hotel costs and incidentals which is over and beyond! The original $97 extra charge has now been exaggerated because I disputed the $97 overages. There was no damage. Proof? There was only 2 nights and not 4 nights they’re now claiming. The lady(Stacey) at the front desk was being rude and vindictive. Then they tried saying they’re not charging for damages? They’re extending the reservation 2 more days instead because that hurts someone more financially. My guest had no key card and was only there for a short time on the evening of the 13th. She had no key card or Authorization. I’ve never been at a hotel where you just keep staying and they don’t make you resign and pay more extending a reservation or a phone call at the least!  No hotel let’s you slide for 2 days without authorization. Their protocol is 1 nights extra stay if anything is left behind. Not 2 days. That is from management. Also I wasn’t charged a damage deposit because there was no damage. Lastly every room records key card activity when  and who enters the room. My keycard was inactive after January 15th. The hotel only had access to the room. It is not morally correct to knowingly acknowledge I was there for 2 days but allowing them to charge me 4 nights. Worst case scenario would be my original 2 night stay and a deposit. I can respect the truth or what is actual protocol. But I cannot accept my very own bank letting a hotel have their way with my checking account without regard to facts, rules and/or respect for the law. Everything is clear and $320.66 is stealing from me. $125.92 plus the deposit is protocol. 1 night extra for leaving belongings is protocol. $320 is more than 4 nights plus deposit and that is just dishonesty and wrong. The original Wells Fargo representative who made the conference call to the hotel was biased and did not make me feel important as a customer underneath Wells Fargo franchise. She made me feel guilty and was disrespectful. I’m still in shock. This claim isn’t over until the hotel follows their protocol. My bank should be defending me and not allowing them to make or change whatever costs out of spite to be vindictive. I’ve accumulated records showing my itinerary so I can prove it wasn’t 4 nights. 2 nights and a deposit at most but not $320!! $175.92 is my 2 nights plus $50 deposit. 2 nights at $62.96 is $125.92 so hotel protocol leaving something behind is 1 extra night so that worst case scenario is 3 nights @ $62.96 is $188.88 and throw in the deposit they said they did not do is still only $238.88!!! As a claims representative and also someone who should be fighting for your customers behalf I cannot believe that Wells Fargo not only allows this but the way this claim has been handled by the CSR’s when I call is ridiculous! Please contact me through email or by phone thanks

NEVER use this company

NEVER use this company. I bought a changeable fare with Vietnam Airlines. I needed to change the flight due a reschedule on a connection by Cathay. Travelocity refused to help. Vietnam Airlines happily changed the flights for me for a small fee but told me Travelocity had to re-issue the ticket. They refused. I got bounced around from person to person each time I contacted them. No one called me back. In the end I bought a new ticket with Cathay Dragon and lost the Vietnam Airlines ticket. Vietnam Airlines told me to book direct not through such agencies. Keep well away!

Travelocity- Terrible Service

I would give them zero stars if I could! After booking a flight to Peru in October of 2019 through Travelocity my itinerary has been changed numerous times by the airline. Each change resulted in numerous lengthy phone calls to Travelocity to find an alternate that did not have a lengthy layover or result in a missed connection. This happened again today. After trying to change the flight, no suitable option was offered and I requested a refund. I was told by the last agent, Abby, that my flight was canceled but a refund was not guaranteed. How can a company take 1429 dollars from you and provide nothing!! I will never book with Travelocity again-slick marketing with no value. BUYER BEWARE -"Wander wisely" by booking elsewhere!!

Customer service refused to honor the “match any price guarantee.”

The customer service representatives had me on hold for over an hour, the first time. The second time they refused to honor they’re guarantee claiming the first representative hadn’t entered my information in the computer.

Customer Service is almost worthless

We booked a multi-city trip for the holidays, but two days after booking had to change the travel date for the final flights. Their website just gave errors when any change was attempted, so we called and they manually changed it, but they did the ticketing wrong which we found out when we couldn't check-in online. We spent over 6 hours on the phone, just hours before departure, trying to fix it, all the while unsure if we would even be able to fly. After 3 calls and escalating during each, a manager finally succeeded, but after we got home found out we were charged hundreds of dollars for the difference in the ticket price between the original ticketing date and the date when they fixed it - these unauthorized charges overdrafted our bank account. Another 4 hours on the phone and the best the representatives would do was refund the last obviously invalid charge, but they kept phrasing any refund as a concession and gift, implying Travelocity did nothing wrong in the ticketing, and said it was only the airline's "claim" that the ticket was wrong. They implied the problems must have been our fault, and they refused to compensate us for the overdraft fees the charges caused. It didn't help that of the 13 (yes, 13) agents we spoke to during a total of 6 calls, only two could speak English decently, and we had to ask them to repeat half of what they said.

NEVER NEVER NEVER use Travelocity…

NEVER NEVER NEVER use Travelocity again. I called Travelocity before booking to confirm I could change flight as I had to fly for family emergency and expected I would have to change return date. They said no problem, but there would be a $150 fee. After flying one way, I called to change the return date. I was left on hold for 4 hours occasionally with an agent saying they were working on it. Now they say my ticket didn't allow changes, and but they could cancel the return leg of my flight and issue me with a one way ticket to "help" me. The price of this "help" was much more expensive than for me to book a full one way fare with a much better airline. So I decided to call again. After being put on hold for at least 2 hours on two more occasions I was told they would find a way to change the flight and get back to me. Finally, I got an e-mail back two days later, which was AFTER the original and rescheduled flights had already left, thanking me for contacting them, and giving me a phone number I could call to make the change. Luckily I already paid and booked another airline to get home, but costing me over $900 to do. After getting home I called several times to see if I could get any refund and each time was given the same runaround. In fact, after waiting an hour, the call connected to the original airline (whom Travelocity themselves said would not be able to help as I booked through them) to get a recorded message to say their office was closed. TRAVELOCITY I hope you are reading this so that you understand the dozens of flights I book every year for my work will never be with you again.

Not helpful at all

Not helpful at all! Website stated 15% off your first booking using their app. Once I downloaded the app the code was not working. I tried reading the terms and conditions and it would direct me to the App Store to download the app. I had to waste 1 hour and a half on the phone for them to tell me that the code only applies to hotel bookings not packaged bookings. Once I separated the flight and the hotel the price was 115 more. Glenda did nothing for the fact that their website did not state terms and conditions and wasting my time. I would recommend staying away from Travelocity. Expedia on the other hand was very helpful! I booked my trip on their site and they honored their discount and stated the terms and conditions clearly.

Do not use them...Travelocity charged…

Do not use them...Travelocity charged us for rental car insurance. When we arrived in a foreign country there was no car for us. We had to pay top dollar for a very unreliable vehicle that the locals were renting on the street outside the airport. When we got home and asked for a refund for the car and insurance that we did not get, they said they would look into it. We have not hea back and did bit receive our refund. Stay away from this service.

NEVER USE TRAVELOCITY - Tell your friends !

Attempted to Book Flight & Accomadation Package. Upon Confirming Booking a Red Alert Displayed saying 'Card Details Incorrect' Checked to confirm my bank balance and 2x Authorisations had been deducted amounting to ~$1500. Package cost was ~$1200. NO Receipt, Booking Confirmation or Itinerary was ever sent to my email. My Travelocity Account displayed 'No Planned Trips. To request cancellation and refund Customer Support requires itinerary number (which I never received! Many hours, web searches later I found cancellation contact emails for Travelocity. Contacted my bank to dispute and have authorisations cancelled/refunded. Day later I received an email from Travelocity to say my booking had been already cancelled and authorisation would be cancelled in ~7days or to contact them again. I now need a holiday to get over booking a holiday with Travelocity.

Overall poor experience

I booked a hotel through Travelocity. I was sent a confirmation via text message. When I went to check in at the hotel, the hotel did not have my reservation. The hotel was booked and there were no rooms available. I was on the customer support line for over an hour. They were unable to find me another room and I had to travel an hour away to stay with friends. I was told they would refund my money, but after a month and a half I have not seen the refund.

Worse company out there to deal

Worse company out there to deal with. Barclays Arrival, owner of Travelocity Master card. I had perfect credit with this company and made my payments on time.... I was going through a hardship (still dealing with financial hardship) but never missed a payment. I had gone to a debt relief company and was working on get my financial mess cleared up. Once Travelocity found out that I was doing this. They canceled my credit card, even though I had 100% excellent credit with them. I was working at paying my debt off to them and after eleven months of paying much more than my monthly payment, I realized they had raised my interest and I had paid them over a thousand dollar on a $2,500.00 debt and it showed that I had only dropped down $200.00 from my debt. Which didn’t make any since. So I figured up how much I had paid them and how much interest was charge. After paying them $1300.00 and the interest came to $540.00 and I only dropped $200 off my balance. I knew something was wrong. So I called customer service and was treated like I was a peoria or bad creditor. I had never missed a payment. I couldn’t get any help from anyone. I called several times and was treat very badly every time. Was told I didn’t know how to add and subtract. It was very simple math. So I stopped making payments. That got there attention. I only missed one payment. Set up a lower interest plan and agreement. I started making payments again and was on time every time. Actually was early every month. After six months my account had dropped ONLY $80.00. I had paid $276.00 in this time frame and my interest was only $10.00 a month. (Which should have been a total of $60.00). I called again and was told about all the fees, that were not part of my new agreement. I couldn’t get anywhere with the customer service. So now I sent copies of everything to the company. Because I completely stopped paying them anything. After months of going back and forth with the company by mail only (because this is only why to get them to listen) they have taken over two hundred off my account. But they have not gone back in my history and corrected the other mistakes. So I’m not willing to pay them any more money, until all matters are resolved. I should only owe them $1600.00 of a $2500.00 debt to begin with. I’m not someone that just makes the monthly payment amount. I always pay much more to get the debt paid off. I not afraid of being sued because I have copies of everything and a judge would wipe the debt off for all the bad mistakes on Travelocity’s. I’m not trying to get out of paying what I owe, but I’m not willing to be cheated either.

Don't use Travelocity unless you want…

Don't use Travelocity unless you want to be misled and hoodwinked into a situation with no escape. They use only "super saver basic" flights where you can't get an assigned seat or use a carry-on bag, nonrefundable, of course. They make nonrefundable/no change deals with hotels, so if you have to change your dates or flight for any reason, you are screwed. Who has ever stayed in a hotel that won't let you change or cancel three months in advance? Probably only people dumb enough (like me, but only once) to book a trip on Travelocity. There is a line on the website that says you can get a refund within 24 hours, but that is not true. It fails to say that only the flights are refundable, not the hotel or rental car. The flight restrictions are in the fine print and easily missed. Basically, the whole website is meant to fool you into thinking you got a good deal. Not!
