Good bye Travelocity

I had been a loyal Travelocity customer for decades but the lack of customer service during this pandemic was incredibly disappointing. I had a one night hotel reservation in the middle of the pandemic that I was not going to be able to use and was not even wanting a refund...I would have taken a voucher but each time we got a hold of an actual person, they would tell us we would have to call the hotel and when we called the hotel, they would tell us to call Travelocity. It’s times like these, when a company can really shine by doing the right thing but Travelocity clearly did not! I will never ever use Travelocity again...they have lost a loyal customer and I will never recommend them to anyone.

NEVER USE!!!

With covid I got stuck in the Philippines. I used Travelocity to desperately try to buy a flight out of the Philippines since all the flights were booking up fast and their website said they had available flights. They were more than happy to take my money, but when they realized there weren’t any flights available I only got a partial refund, even though someone called me and said I would get a full refund. I contacted them several times 5-7 days later when I finally got back into the US but sat on hold for over 4 hours, so I emailed and Facebook messaged them. I got a reply 2 months later saying I didn’t qualify for a refund because the booking was too long ago and I should have contacted them earlier. They’re the ones who took a long time to get back to me. I’m never using them again, they took my money and literally did absolutely nothing.

Can't get a Travelocity hotel refund even for COVID-and the country is locked down

I fully paid for a nonrefundable hotel booking (Hotel Amadeus in Krakow Poland) through Travelocity in Jan of 2020 prior to Covid. Booking was for late June 2020. Post Covid, All travel plans to get to Poland were canceled by the cruise lines the airlines etc. 100 of all the other vendors in this Travel Chain refunded deposits and payments 100%. (Iceland Air, Seven Seas Cruises, Whizz Air, Lot Air) The only ones not to refund were Hotel Amadeus and Travelocity. Travelocity has not paid the hotel yet but says they cant refund the money because the hotel refuses to give Travelocity the authorization to refund. In this case why even use a third party service like Travelocity to book when they wont hold unscrupulous vendors to account. Will never use Travelocity again as they add no value to the Travel chain.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!

THE ABSOLUTE WORST!! What would be better is a half a star or none at all.. There are far to many occurrences of BAD business on the part of Travelocity. This latest thing almost cost me a lot of money and a missed flight. You people can't even spell my name correctly. I'm now going to delete your app on ALL my devices. NEVER, use your services again. And, let EVERY person that I know; to avoid making ANY kind of reservations through Travelocity. One of your customer service reps. Even had the nerve to tell me, that if I couldn't get on my paid for flight, because of YOUR mistakes. That it wouldn't be your fault! You people record everything, listen to it! Good riddance!

One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had -

We had to cancel our flight due to COVID and had a credit to use. When restrictions lifted, I called Travelocity to re-book the new flights. The woman who answered said she could not assist with this, but I could wait on hold 'for a little while' until someone could help, & she said if we got disconnected, she'd call me back. I waited on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes... got disconnected. She called me back about 30 mins later & said I'd have to "start all over again/wait another hour +". I politely let her know that I could not do that, and it was they who disconnected the call, so I needed someone who could help to call me back. She said she'd "try", & that I'd need to answer my phone immediately when someone called... they did, and I answered immediately - they hung up. They called right back, I answered IMMEDIATELY - they hung up again. They didn't call back. I started the process ALL over again, got a man this time, he essentially just said "Sorry" for the previous experience, but clearly just wanted to get on with the call/get off the call. I re-explained what was needed, he said I'd have to wait on hold 1-2 more hours! And he said if I got disconnected, I'd have to start over AGAIN. I let him know how unbelievably frustrating their process is, he said he'd try to connect direct with the airline, etc. At one point when I asked about the "fees" he mentioned, he raised his voice at me and said "To be clear, there are no fees! I meant the price of the new ticket!" (If that's what you meant, then THAT'S the wording you should have used!) Ultimately, after another 55 minutes on the phone, I was told "We can't help you. You'll have to call the airline directly." Bottom line is something about their processes/the airline's processes/who has 'control' over the ticket, yada yada yada - I do not work for the airlines so I can't possibly know the inner workings of their somewhat incompatible systems. They should be able to tell me within minutes, the first time we speak, that they are unable to assist. All in all I wasted over 3 hours, & now will have to start again with the airline directly. I will give credit where it's due, the 2nd person showed some sympathy for the situation by the end of the call, but I will never, ever, ever use Travelocity again, and will make sure to share this incredibly frustrating and disappointing service story on all my social media and review websites available.

Scammed and kept my money with no service rendered

I booked a room with a queen bed and a private bathroom in Buenos Aires Hostel in El Calafate, Argentina via Travelocity from 02/07/20-02/12/20. I paid $150 to Travelocity right away, 7 months in adavanse ( in May of 2019.) Instead, I was given a windowless room with a twin bed and a shared bathroom in the hallway. At first, I thought that it was some kind of a mix up, so I showed my receipt with the picture of the room that I booked. I was told that there was no mix up, that since I am alone I should be in a twin bed, and that all twin beds come with a shared bathroom. And I was also told that 7 months ago what I paid might have been the right price, but that at my time of arrival the room that I booked became much more expensive. I immediately wrote to Travelocity and asked for my money back because what I was offered upon arrival wasnt at all what I booked. I received no reply. I tried to call Travelosity, but no one would answer. Finally, someone told me through chat that they cant communicate with me unless I'm back in USA. When I returned from my trip, I tried to get my money back. I was patient because it was March and the middle of COVID-19. Finally, in April, Travelocity got back to me. The owner of the hostel said that I refused the room that she offered me ( I had to go to a different hotel because a twin bed is too small for me and I am unable to use shared bathrooms), so she didnt owe me a refund. And Travelocity told me that I chose to not stay there. I chose to not stay there because they refused to give me the room that I booked. In fact, I ended up paying a lot more at a different hotel because I needed a room immediately. So their refusal to give me the room that I booked in advance had cost me in many ways. But I cant even get a refund for the booking that I was refused. Travelocity ignored me at the time when it was happening, and then sided with the hostel owner, even though their reasoning was illogical an

There should be a zero star option

There should be a zero star option. Then, Barry Diller should be arrested for this scam and put in prison for life. This is not a travel agency; it is a scam. They take your money and don't refund even if you have travel insurance. DO NOT EVER USE TRAVELOCITY. I have spent dozens of hours trying to speak to agents but they keep you on hold for an hour then disconnect. The agents are in the Phillipines and they are clearly coached to hang up on people who are owed money back. They couldn't be worse. Again, don't be fooled and don't use this company under any circumstances.

Wish I could give it 0 stars

Wish I could give it 0 stars. I will never book through Travelocity again. I booked three nights in a hotel in Barcelona Spain prior to a cruise that was to happen in May. Due to Covid 19, the cruise was cancelled. I cancelled the hotel, and was told that I could only get a coupon valid for stay in that hotel in Spain within the next 12 months. Travelocity claims that is the hotel policy. I contacted the hotel, and they told me that they were offering free cancellations, and that I should speak to Travelocity. Travelocity is giving me the run-around, and refuses to refund my money. I don't even know if there will be foreign travel within 12 months. I tend to doubt it. Terrible customer service!

We experienced the same abysmal…

We experienced the same abysmal customer service as the other reviewers trying to use airline credits issued due to COVID-19. Travelocity needs to revamp their policies, procedures, and customer service training. We gave up on Travelocity and went straight to American Airlines. They were great! Travelocity said "we can't" whereas AA said "we will."

If I could rate a "0" i would

If I could rate a "0" i would, however not an option. The worst customer service i have ever experienced. i have been a travelocity customer for many many years. i have booked many trips with travelocity, i would expect some type of respect for being a long time customer, however what i am experiencing is the worst of its kind. i honestly feel like i am about to lose over $4000 us dollars for a family trip that was to start 6/5/2020! Family summer trip for 4 passengers to europe has become a nightmare with travelocity. I understand that we cannot travel due to covid-19, but why can't travelocity do the right thing and treat their customers with respect while helping to adjust travel dates or provide the proper credits with confirmation emails. I am speechless, how is it possible that they are getting away with this terrible service and with my money! I have been hung up on multiple times, been on hold for an average of 2.5 hours with no solution and call dropping with no return calls from them. It is currently 3:07AM, i am on hold while I am writing this review on my mobile phone and I am also seeking assistance thru their chat with an agent option online. absurd right? But i am hoping that one of them will get the flight tickets rescheduled faster than the other. I cant get a refund because the airline policy is not providing that option. I can only get a credit for a future flight.oh did i mention that this is my 6th attempt this evening in trying to reschedule flight dates for 5/2021. I started calling since 3PM, sad to say that at 3:07AM. I am still trying to get help on my 6th call and chatting thru the website support link!!! The rep claims she is trying to get supervisor on the line for special approval, WHAT???

Don't book trips with Travelocity!

Don't book trips with Travelocity! My husband and I have probably spent a total of 3 hours on the phone with Travelocity and their customer service has been the worst! I work in a call center and know how things should be handled, and they have been nothing but rude. We booked a trip to Mexico for our anniversary a year ago and due to the virus, we had to cancel it, which we understand. We bought travel insurance which guaranteed us a refund if the trip was cancelled. We called awhile ago and had our hotel costs refunded, but they wouldnt refund our flight and the airline gave us a credit instead that doesnt even come close to covering the cost of another flight. After my husband spending hours on the phone with the airline, I called travelocity over a week ago trying to get a refund for our flight so we could get another travel package with them. There representative told me that they were going to email the airline directly and get me a refund so I could purchase another package with them. I was told I would hear back within 72 hours. Well its now been over a week. I called today and was speaking with or on hold with a representative for 40 minutes when she hung up on me. I know sometimes a call can be disconnected and want to give her the benefit of the doubt, but whenever a call drops while I am talking to someone at work, I give them a call back right away. I never got a call. So I called back again. This time I was connected to a man named Ethan who was actually very helpful and kind. I immediately asked him for a supervisor and after a few holds, he got me connected to one. I explained all that had happened previously and how I was told I would be getting a refund and she acted as though I had never been promised a refund, even though I had a previous case number. She wasnt helpful in any way and didnt apologize for the fact that I was lied to previously or that I had been hung up on after waiting for 40 minutes. I was just told that I would have to work with the airline and it wasnt their problem, even though they had previously told me they can reach out to the airline and that they would give me a refund. She also would not send me a copy of my travel insurance, just like the previous representative. After my 52 minute call, I hung up. I just wish that they would have tried to make things right. How hard would it be to email them asking for a refund? I wish they would have helped because we probably would have tried to book another trip. We booked our honeymoon trip with them and that went fine and was a pretty great bargain. But I will not be booking with them again and will definitely discourage others to do so in the future

Worst experience ever

It has been 8 weeks and I have still yet been able to get through to an agent. Sat in home for hours just to be disconnected, tried to enter in the itinerary # so I could speak to an agent - fail, tried enter phone number - fail, emailed customer support - fail, used online automated customer service - fail. Cannot believe how awful this has been. All I want is to speak to one person to get an answer on the travel voucher/insurance I purchased. Do I get a refund. Do I get credit?

Had to cancel my son's spring break…

Had to cancel my son's spring break trip due to COVID-19. Was told by Travelocity that I was not eligible for a refund because I cancelled 7 days too late, yet it was still 7 days before he was supposed to travel. Didn't matter that Florida had closed all beaches, bars and restaurants, or that our state had issued a no-travel order. After repeated attempts to get through and being sent to the "virtual agent" over and over with no progress, I finally got through to an agent. 8 and half weeks of trying to talk to a human is ridiculous. Sahar was able to process my refund. She was the ONLY bright spot in this exhausting ordeal. I will never use this company or its subsidiaries ever again.

I am so fed up with travelocity

I am so fed up with travelocity, and will never use them again. I have used travelocity for two decades, never had a problem until this crisis. There is simply no way to reach a person on line unless you are flying within two weeks. It is in fact impossible to cancel flights after May 31st. They are refusing to refund money even though it is illegal to force people to pay for services that cannot be offered. I have tried to get through for weeks. There is no excuse, two months into the pandemic, to ignore your customers. This is verging on fraud, if it isn't outright fraud. During a crisis.

Customer representatives scamming people with ticket total

I would give 0 stars but it wasn't an option. I had booked a vacation from Chicago to FL which had to be canceled due to Covid 19 and Travelocity issued flight credit valid for 12 months. I had to be on hold 2 times for 3 hours until I got a hold of a customer service representative. I searched for my new tickets to Florida with AA and found 2 roundtrip tickets for $512 and it clearly stated on the bottom that the price is for 2 travelers. $230 departure flight and the rest was for the return flight per individual. The representative finally answers and tells me that i need to pay 512 per person and her system was down and we both knew that's a lie..SCAMMER!! I fly all the time and the only reason i didn't book it myself is because you need an agent to assist you. They are going out of their way to prevent people from using those flight credits and have the most unprofessional and undertrained employees...EXPIDIA IS GREAT AND I NEVER HAVE HAD ISSUES LIKE THESE WITH THEM!!! Very very disappointed in their customer service

Do not ever use Travelocity!!

Do not ever use Travelocity!! I was on the phone with them for an hour and 15 minutes for them to tell me to call the airline directly to try and get a refund for a flight that I paid an extra $100 for flight insurance!! They wouldn't let me cancel my flight through the website so calling was my only option at this point. So disappointed and will not be using Travelocity again.

Lost $530

I just lost $530 because Travelocity doesn’t want to cancel or refund me my money for a hotel reservation in Dominican Republic. I got my refund back for the airline but not the hotel, please make that make sense. How am I suppose to fly out to another country during COVID 19 with international airline and hotel border restrictions And no flight because of “hotel policies”. Also it states on my bank account the payment was made to Travelocity not the hotel itself, all while on the website that clearly states we can get full refunds if it is before May 30th and was booked before March 19th! Terrible, they just want to keep your money!
