What went wrong between 2 travel company cheapair &porter airline down 1000$ no one help everyone say they have to change your ticket evoid the this company so you won't be crying pay more for good company cheap say it all mistake I admit will not use any of those compay trust pilot want to verify ticket I send them booking they said need more to keep my review read other review you come to decisions leave my review

Terrible service after cancellation

I am seriously bitter over the way I was handled by this airline. My 2 hour connecting flight was cancelled by this airline. It was the last flight of the day, so they transferred me to the next day. Instead of offering to cover my hotel, which would have been the reasonable thing to do considering they cancelled my flight, I was given an utterly fake "discount" voucher that only sent me to the hotel website main page, a phone number that left me on hold, and was left to dry in the middle of the night in a huge airport. I am a student and don't have the budget to stay in an expensive hotel. Instead of helping me out, they offered a "stretch" seat, as if some extra leg room on a 2 hour flight could make up for a sleepless night in the airport. This airline does not take responsibility for their customers, and I would not recommend to anyone!!

Would not recommend

Would never recommend Porter after being delayed for both flights and 1 by 4 hours for no reason at all. Fly air Canada or west jet if you want your flight to leave on time when flying within Canada. I did call the customer service number and they tried to understand the status as much as they could but offered no support.

I had an incredible first experience…

I had an incredible first experience flying with PORTER! I flew Toronto(Pearson) to Edmonton. I was generously assigned an upgraded seat to my surprise! The snack and meal was very fresh and delicious. Staff was welcoming, friendly and professional. I will absolutely book with PORTER again.

Buyer Beware of CHANGE FEE Slick Practices

Buyer Beware. When booking Porter Airlines via Expedia, they purposefully break roundtrips into two segments. Additionally, there are two segments for each traveler. This occurs despite scheduling on Expedia all at once, under a single itinerary number, and getting a "total" cost in the confirming email. Here's where they get clever to keep more of your money. They tell you there is a $100 (or 85) change fee. Because everything was done on a single itinerary and total cost basis, you reasonably think the change fee is for the single itinerary. When you attempt to use the "credit" it is applied to each segment and each traveler. Suddenly a $700 charge authorized on Expedia's site is now only worth about 1/2 that amount. Additionally, the credits have to be individually used on new segments by the specific travelers, which makes using the credits near impossible. This is never discussed in the confirming document and Porter refuses to discuss the actions of its representative: Expedia. If you wish to book a flight for yourself and others, while maintaining a functional opportunity to use the change flight option, think long and hard before booking Porter Airlines on Expedia.

Needs work

Ive been flying for over 30 years... First time flying with Porter. Edmonton to Ottawa and return. Connecting through Toronto. Edmonton to Ottawa...impressed. Great customer service, clean plane, really positive experience. Return flight, a nightmare. Non communicative customer service, flight attendants had very frosty personalities, and tight connection times with a last minute change in gates that was not announced by flight attendants or via text (which i signed up for), led me to almost miss my connecting flight home. Needs improvement.

Charged for something never bought

Just got home with United Airlines Tucson Denver Denver Montreal operated by Air Canada I was checking my credit card this morning HUGE SUPRISE I am charged $487.57 by Porter Air Cad, I never heard of them and less booked anything from them. I finally get them on my telephone the person was rude kept and had a terrible accent. Hope I get my money back

Absolutely a crappy company with 0%…

Absolutely a crappy company with 0% customer service . Do not fly with these people . Waste of money and time . They will change your terminal on you without notifying you . Also , they don’t like helping or answering questions either

Porter Cancells Two Flight to Save Money

Mar 3  Porter cancelled flight PD2286 from Halifax to Toronto due to a "coming storm in Toronto" --- But because they did that they also cancelled flight PD2283 from Tor to Hal leaving 5 hours earlier @12.55pm from Toronto with clear skies in both Cities and no weather warnings in Halifax. This was to avoid having the plane (which was supposed to turn around and fly back to Toronto), avoid the coming storm in Toronto so. This cost 80 passengers stranded in Tor about $200 night for hotels, food, cabs etc. I estimate 80people x$200/night=$16,000 and Porter didn't give a cent. And saved the cost of 2 flights by booking us passengers on scheduled flights the next day. The Canada Transportation Agency only requires them to state the circumstances were "Unavoidable" to get away with no restitution to their Customers - What a sleazy move, and they do it time and time again

Worst airline ever!

Worst airline ever! We travelled from the Netherlands to Canada to visit our family in Calgary and Ottawa. We booked a national flight with Porter to Ottawa. They cancelled three times on us. First was due to weather conditions so understandable the other two times were due to shortage on crew. They rescheduled us on the day we had to flight back, 6 days later than our original flight. We tried to contact customer services. First we hang on the phone for over 1 hour and 30 minutes and they just hang up on us. We tried again in the morning and found a live chat on their website. After waiting a whole morning we got finally through to someone. After a whole hassle they agreed to change the flight so we could fly earlier. But we never got a confirmation of them. The day we're supposed to fly like agreed in the chat we we're on the airport. Tried to get someone on the phone the whole morning because we didn't got a confirmation of them, finally we're talking to someone and he denied everything at first 🙄 after a while they said that every flight was cancelled to Ottawa until the 28th of February. They lied because the flight we're supposed te be on was still going... We had enough and cancelled our flight with them and rebooked with Flair for the same day. Still didn't see a refund from then, but i'll never book a flight with them again. This is a super unreliable airline! That doesn't do customer service.

Even if tickets were free still wouldn’t fly with them

Honestly the worst airline I’ve flown. Food, service, “weather” cancelled flights when no snow on any stops. Will be chasing compensation. The list if what’s good is much shorter than the bad…nothing good

Just FYI

Just FYI - the $100 charge fee to change flights is not for the trip - it is per direction... so if you buy tickets don't opt for the more expensive option like me because if you have to change your flight, it is literally the cost of buying new tickets if you count in having the pay for the taxes, new itinerary fee and difference in price. I had paid $330 originally. After trying to change my flight it was going to charge me an additional $200... The actual flights that day cost $250... like why would I commit to a flight. I had to throw these away and decided to never book with them again.

From 5 stars to 2 in 5 days.

I was excited that Porter was flying out of YYZ to YYC as I was a fan of the airline given my positive experiences flying with them years back. The inaugural flight to YYC was great; friendly professional crew, lots of nice perks like free food and a voucher for future travel. The CEO was on the flight and I mouthed the word "impressed" as I walked-by as he set-up for his press conference. I extolled them to friends and family...until this morning. When checking-in to my return flight, I took note of how the plane appeared almost empty (almost every seat was up for grabs, for a price). I woke-up this morning receiving an email that my flight this afternoon had been cancelled due to a lack of crew. I'm now scheduled for a flight tomorrow on a near full flight and can't help but suspect the lack of passengers and this cancellation are cause/effect. The cancellation is classified as "controllable", as-in, this was Porter's decision. Obviously this has torpedoed my opinion of the airline and I'd mouth something else to the CEO in passing next time...

What a Disappointment!! I am a travel writer and a gold and…

I am a travel writer and a gold and privileged flyer with two other airlines. I was excited when Porter sent me a communique that they were flying to other points of Canada including Vancouver We reserved their “premium” class as we were told that they had a priority lounge in Montreal and Toronto - a lie! We had a return flight to Victoria BC via Vancouver ( we made arrangemts to fly to the Island with another airline as Porter does not fly there) Two days before we were scheduled to leave we were informed that our flight was cancelled on Friday morning and delay until Saturday. Contacting reservations took 40 minutes and our reservation individual said that it was because there was no crew ( amazing how they knew that 2 days prior). Her comment was that we could get in Saturday afternoon and I said that we would miss our connections to Vancouver Island. Her comment well you could take the train to Vancouver 😤 Our only way to get to the Island then is take a taxi to the ferry terminal, pay for the ferry and then another taxi to Victoria airport to retrieve our car When checking in at Montreal ( the Porter staff were very compassionate). They said we can get you to the Toronto Island airport take an Uber and then you can book a room near the Airport. Which we did. There was a Porter jet flying to Pearson but they said it was full! Arriving at 11 pm 8 hours after arriving at the Montreal airport Our flight was to depart at 10: 35 am on Feb 25 When checking in they were unable to have seats together for us! The flight was then delayed to 12:35 but our new boarding passes still indicated boarding at 9:45. The gate is at the farthest end of the Terminal 3 there is no gate attendant but our plane, covered in snow, is at the gate We do not trust that this flight will leave on time. So we have been at airports/travelling Montreal -Toronto for the last 29 hours. Our out of pocket expenses now exceed $1000. One extra night hotel stay, Uber, car rental , meals, extra cost of car parking in Victoria airport, two extra days for a babysitter, two taxis, ferry I do hope that a PR person picks this up and makes an effort to reach out as it will have to take something special for us to recommend Porter to anyone flying outside of the Montreal /Toronto corridor I hope we can get home Such a disappointment!! This is honestly the worst airline I…

This is honestly the worst airline I have ever used! Do not book a flight with them!!!!!! The customer service (both in person and via phone) was horrible. They had no sense of understanding the situation and did not care enough to make an effort to help. I rarely complain but this was just so bad. We missed our connecting flight because of their incompetence and they did not help us getting a new flight to our end destination

I am having trouble searching a rt trip…

I am having trouble searching a rt trip with adding my daughter to the return flight. I was OK with buying separate ticket,either way as long as we are all on the flight! I had to call CS and what a mistake that was!! I gave the gentlemen my dates and airports I would like. The man kept cutting me off rudely while I gave him my info 3 separate times. He kept putting me on hold and coming back 5 minutes later to ask what dates and cities I want to leave from and land in. I gave him info 4th time for him to n9w ask me if I was going to stay in Jamaica for 1 or 2 days!!!!! Like huh? Have yoy smoked before your shift kind sir who goes to the Caribbean for 1 or 2 days???? He then argued with me that I never told him how long I wanted to go for the whole 4 times I said leaving 1st of March and coming home the 15th. He said yes you told me this but you never told me how long you wanted to travel for!!!???!! I'm so 😕and I'm not to sure I should trust my life with this airline if the cs a nuts. I told him it's OK u will call another airline and hung up ,would you believe he waited 5 minutes and is calling me back to back and leaving long msgs on my phone with the background of ither cs agents taking their calls...not 1 word from him just the background of his work station OVER AND OVER. I never even gave him my number,we never made it that far in our conversation. What gives him the right to harass me like this!!!!

Never again

Never again. Worse airline expensive. Plane issues. Had to return mid way in the air. No plan B . Gross inside. Can't fit carry on luggage... so many complaints just don't fly with Porter unless you want to have a nightmare of an experience.

Absolutely Terrible Service

I was set to flyout Nov 4 at 8am to pick up a new car in Toronto. I got an email saying my flight was delayed from 8am to now 5:40Pm. This alone is already bad but things happen and I get it. I tried to to switch my flight online for hours and it was not letting me what so ever. I tried their “chat function” and surprise of course that was not available either. I was on hold on the phone for 3 hours and no one picked up (what a surprise). Since I could not transfer my flight online or get a hold of anyone since apperently this is to hard for porter I had to take that flight and book a hotel to spend the night in toronto and pick up my vehicle the following morning since the dealership was closed at that time. Another thing to note is my flight was delayed anothwr 3 times!!!!! I did not leave Ottawa till 7:40pm (Almost 12hrs later than my initial flight). I talked to a porter representitive at the airport and they basiclly said file a complaint online we cant help you. I filed my complaint asking to be at least compensated for the hotel room I had to get due to their terrible customer service and they said it’s not their problem and they wont be helping. I will never fly porter again. Terrible customer service

Last minute Flight Cancellation

Porter Airline cancelled my flight 3 hours before my departure. This is due to weather, and it is understandable, but they made no efforts to put me on the following flight later in the day. In addition, customer service is horrendous, they hang me up when I click for an English-speaking service. No idea how long the refund will take or if it will even happen. Avoid this airline like a plague

Travelled from Europe to Canada…

Travelled from Europe to Canada recently to see my ill auntie. We booked a trip while we were there to New York from Toronto with Porter Airlines but my husband got Covid so had to cancel. We had missed the 'cancellation window' by 5 hours. They have told me they can give me a credit note. What use is that when we live half way around the world? I am taking it up with my credit card company to get a refund....
