Worst airlines, never travelling again!!

Pathetic service by the airlines! Booked my flight from Sydney to Chennai two way and regretted my decision so much. Delay of the flights are guaranteed if you travel with them. Aircraft & amenities are just reasonable. Overcrowded flights with massive delays between flights. On my way back spent 25+ hours in travel and transit due to delays of the connecting flights.

It’s a worst nightmare of anyone

It’s a worst nightmare of anyone. Had a terrible flight from Muscat to Colombo and back. Inside the flight food was terrible and air conditioning is not working. At the Sri Lanka air port boarding place was an utter mess nobody was there to control the transit crowd.

NO REFUND DESPITE MORE THAN 2 MONTHS

NO REFUND DESPITE MORE THAN 2 MONTHS It has been over 2 months since I requested a refund and nothing has happened. I have made an official online request followed by three reminders, but to no avail. I have had a live chat with them also. It's really pathetic. Now, I am thinking of suing them in a court. My request for travelers is that *DON'T BOOK ANY TICKET WITH SRILANKAN AIRLINES, IF YOU ARE NOT 100% SURE OF YOUR TRAVEL*

It was the most disgusting flight of my life, no one and never recommend this company, I wish only to run away from them as far as possible, that your luggage is not lost, and then you did not run after them like a beggar, asking where it is more than a week I plan to sue you and malaysia airlines as well as srilankan airlines. And here is the list of reasons: 1) I was originally sold a ticket with a 17 hour flight and much more comfortable 2) Shortly before departure they changed the flight to an earlier time (02.08) whereas the previous one was for a later time (which was exactly what I needed), and the total flight time of the changed flight was almost 30 hours (which was out of the limit), I asked to change the ticket to a more comfortable one with the right time and city of arrival, but my requests were ignored 3) At check-in, malaysia airlines gave me boarding tickets of the same name, but when I arrived at KTM I was given 3 new boarding tickets from srilankan airlines and I was totally confused 4) After arriving in Colombo, I waited for over 10 hours (including a 3 hour delay in departure, in addition to waiting for a flight that I was not scheduled) 5) And the final thing, in addition to the disgusting flight you organized for me, compared to the one I bought -- you lost my luggage and now no one contacts me and can not even inform me about the status of this task (finding my luggage) I want compensation in the full amount of the payment for the tickets, for the moral compensation given to me due to the totally unsuccessful flight, as well as the lost luggage. In case of ignoring this message or lack of compensation, I will immediately go to court to find out what right you had to do this to me. I look forward to hearing from you immediately! Reference number: FRAUL10128. Luggage was lost, did not arrive in Frankfurt. Absolutely shocking service from this…

Absolutely shocking service from this airline, cancelled our flights 3 hours after we should have taken off. No explanation, no communication for nearly 3 days after flights should have gone. Planes dirty, food poor quality and cuatomer service non existent. No one answers calls or emails when needing to complain. Do not use this airline!!!

Appalling Service Sri Lanka Airlines refunds

I had to cancel my trip to Sri Lanka due to a death in my family.After ringing and being advised that I would receive a full refund and filling in the online form. I got a refund reference acknowledgement email sent to me to advise it would be a couple of weeks but I would hear back soon???? I have like many of the other complaints made here have emailed the differing departments 8 times since April,within the company to chase the refund and they haven't responded to one of them,when speaking to the numerous customer service staff and being told they would raise the matter with the refund department I have still not had any communication at all. I am due to travel to Sri Lanka again with a large party of people for a wedding but in as much as understanding the country is in an economic crisis would not consider using this airline again or recommending to other people for their appalling customer relations..its diabolical. I will continue to pursue the refund by elevating the procedure to an external source.

Srilankan airlines dont keep their promises and never refund my cancelled flight.

dear srilankan airlines. 3 month back i bought a ticket DXB-CMB (28th of april) and unfortunately because of COVID i cancelled it in 2 days. So far so good - i god my refund reference code and started to wait my monet to be credited to my account back. No, its late June - 1. still no money credited 2. no ANY response to my 10 inquiry emails 3. DXB and AUH Srilankan offices are useless - they clearly told they cannot do anything. The next step for this week is to write complaint to Dubai Economic department and raise a case in Dubai police. Dear Srilnkan - please contact me ASAP till its not late. As a proof i can post all email and addresses i contacted and never got any reposne. awaiting your message

Bad customer service in flight and over the phone

Did not had phone charging option for our 12 hour journey. Food quality was below average. Serving quantity was stupid enough to leave me hungry. Flight attendants does not appear to ask for a water glass or any other need.

Awful Customer Service

My wife and I recently flew to Colombo for a holiday and neither mine nor my wife's entertainment monitor worked. Upon complaining to the cabin crew we were advised they could not fix the problem nor move us as the flight was full. We therefore had to spend a ten hour plus flight without entertainment. Upon arriving I emailed customer service to lodge a complaint but received no further response except for an acknowledgement. Upon the return flight, although the monitors worked, the headphone sockets did not and I again complained to the cabin crew, pointing out we would now be subjected to another ten hour plus flight with no entertainment. I was told a formal complaint form would be completed and lodged with customer service but there has been no communication. We will not be travelling with this awful airline again.

Zero customer service, bad-faith behavior

Zero customer service, bad-faith behavior - Had to cancel flight to Colombo due to imposition of emergency and curfew in response to protests - More than a week on, nothing heard from Sri Lankan Airlines, unable to move with travel insurance claim as a result - Biz class upgrade was granted BEFORE the stated 48-hour window, just as protests were getting worse. Clearly playing pin-the-loss on pax/insurer Do not fly with UL even when things get better! Edited from 2-star to 1-star: UL acted swiftly following this review and a complaint on their Facebook page -- with a proforma, unhelpful, and non-empathetic response that simply directed ne to contact my ticket issuer that did not address the bad-faith upgrade issue. As the Brits might say, this is a complete s---tshow on their part.

This airline broke the most basic rule of trust. I agreed to pay as quoted by the airline $355 for a flight to the UK. I booked and was happy. But I recieved an email. Dear valued customer? Can you ring us there's a problem. I was told, we want $50 dollars more. No pay,no ticket.no refund. Pure extortion. We arrived late in France missed my connection.the flight was very poor. Do not trust this company,they are Dishonest.

Aldrig køb billetter hos Sri Lankan Airlines!

Vi er så skuffede over vores køb af flybilletter igennem Sri Lankan Airlines! Vi var tvunget til at købe nogle hurtige flybilletter i lufthavnen grundet en længere rejse rundt i Asien, så vi købte nogle dyre billetter hos Sri Lankan Airlines, fordi der stod, at man godt kunne returnere dem indenfor 24 timer. Vi skriver derfor en mail til firmaet, inden der er gået 24 timer for at få returneret billetterne, men hører aldrig fra dem igen. Vi har skrevet flere mails og forsøgt at ringe af to omgange, men vi kan ikke komme igennem telefonen overhovedet. Har aldrig oplevet så dårlig kundeservice før! Nu er pengene trukket fra kontoen, og vi er ved at opgive håbet om at få pengene igen. Vi skal aldrig købe noget gennem dette firma igen!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Takes your money and is unable to provide the service advertised. Two denied boardings. Incredibly rude airport staff. We purchased two separate flights and were unable to board either - Sri Lankan Airlines took our money and promised we would be eligible for a refund. 1 month later we have been passed around via generic emails, a website form that doesn’t work, and a call center that passes you around with no care or respect for its customers. As a oneworld member I have been severely disappointed with Sri Lankan Airlines. I wholeheartedly do not recommend this airline to anyone! Avoid at all costs, pay extra and fly with Qatar.

Big hidden last minute changes - lack of communication

Paid a few hundred pounds extra to get a direct flight to columbo from London Heathrow as we are never comfortable with stop overs or connections. The flights available to us was with Sri Lanka Air, which we booked happily based on our needs. Literally 3 weeks before the flight they emailed us to say the scheduling had changed and moved our flight forward 3 hours. We couldn't understand why our flight times didn't make sense as we were now landing only 30 mins sooner than before. So upon us looking into it further for ourselves we noticed that they had added a stop over in the Maldives. They did not notify us of this change. At this late stage there was absolutely no chance of us actually getting a direct flight and all the cheaper options for connecting flights were unavailable. We would have taken one of the cheaper options to save on cost if there really was no other choice. We feel as though we have been completely sucked in and have ended up paying direct prices for a hugely inconvenient connecting one as we had no alternative choices. The price of the flight had also gone up considerably due to their being nothing else available for the dates we needed. Their customer service is awful and practically non exsitant. They have completely ignored all of our attempted correspondence with them regarding the issue. While we understand potential changes like this are all outlined in any airlines T&C's and them offering a refund in the email, we feel the way in which it has been done feels so underhand. Changing schedules at such late notice while hiding key information regarding such a big change, only to then be ignored when we have questions about it is absolutely scandelous. To think we could have originally booked something else much cheaper for the same service we are now getting just makes us feel conned. Avoid this airline.

This was one of the worst experiences…

This was one of the worst experiences with flight from Sydney UL607 delayed on 17.2.2022 to 18.2.2022 at 1405, then delayed to 1530 and finally reaching Colombo at 2045 on 18.2.2022 with no connecting flight to Bangalore on 18.2.2022. Then the connecting flight to Bangalore on 19.2.2022 at 18.40 has been delayed with estimated departure at 23.40 on 19.2.2022. What was meant to be a 13 hour Journey from Sydney starting at 22.30 on 17.2.2022 and reaching Bangalore at 0855 on 18.2.2022 is now become a 48 hour journey with still no definite time of flight from Colombo. No help from Srilankan Airline Airport Staff, close to 40 passengers stuck on this journey.

Avoid at all cost

I purchased return ticket from London to Colombo from their own site.I chose SriLankan as it is direct flight and usually 10 hours flying time.But to start the journey it was 1 hour delay. Then it stopped in Male only very few passengers got down and handful of passengers got in.whole crew changed. New crew started counting hand luggages one by one.we were waiting two hours . We were requested to remained seated this 2 hours as they wanted to do head count. When we arrived at Colombo it took 14 hours . I could have traveled with transit flight like Quatar or Ethihad for cheaper fair . Also head set not working. I will not recommend this air line.

Hassle free rebooking?

I am of Sri Lankan origin and I used to book on this airline despite the awful admin described here by others. Most of it being true. I bought a return ticket LHR CMB. The promise was no hassle rebooking if necessary due to Covid. Wanted to change flight date and tried online two weeks before scheduled flight. The change was going to cost £425 plus £125 for changing flight. The return ticket I bought was £650. So much for huddle free rebooking. I checked QA and a new ticket costs £425. Making use of Covid 19 to rob the clients should stop. Never again sri Lankan!!! :(
