Update as of 12th August 2024: Still deserve a zero star. After writing numerous emails about compensation only to be first ignored, and then after weeks of followup, was told there is no compensation. And after writing to CEO, a reply landed within 10 minutes proposing a very very minimal compensation worth nothing to the sufferings, and on further investigation, it seems they are not even bound to EU laws! I am still exploring to see if they are bound to any regional aviation rules. Something needs to be done for taking action on such airlines who constantly provide poor service but supress all the voice raised just with the loophole that they are not bound to EU laws. As said, they are not cheap, the only eye catching point is the connection if you have to travel to Madurai from London, there is a less transit time, but it does not seem to be the best most of the times and not worth paying for.
I WOULD HAVE GIVEN A ZERO STAR. NEVER BOOK WITH SRILANKAN for any eye catching transit times, service is very poor, Terrible delays (nearly 15 years) and it was hell of a journey with Srilankan for us. They are not cheap either, equally charging or sometime more than what other airlines charge, BETTER PAY EXTRA TO OTHER AIRLIENS THAN FALLING FOR SRILANKAN, AND TRAVEL PEACEFULLY AND COMFORTABLY. THIS AIRLINE NEEDS TO BE SHUTDOWN TO HEATHROW IF they operate in the same level and seems it has been ongoing for years now due to various factors, regardless customers should be treated with Courtesy if they still want to be in business.
