Highly Recommended

We have used TID many times and I'm always very impressed with the follow up email that we get a few weeks after the trip is over asking if we have had any issues = fabulous customer service, realistic premiums and a great online presence. All very easy and highly recommended :)

Happy Customer

I have used TID a few times now when travelling overseas. Thankfully I haven't had to make a claim, but they are competitive on pricing and offer all the bells and whistles. Easy to purchase cover online and I embark on my trip confident that I'm covered should any unforeseen circumstances arise.

First Class Customer Service

We have taken out travel insurance with TID for several overseas trips in recent years. We are one of the fortunate travelers and have not had to make any claims on any of our policies. However I have always been very impressed with all things TID: comprehensive policies, excellent premiums, terrific website and iPhone app as well as frequent unsolicited contact before (travel / packing tips etc), and after (follow up service support) each of our trips. Well done and thank you.

A bit slow to pay but no fuss

I had to leave my cruise ship in Vietnam to go into hospital. I was too sick to worry about whether or not the insurers would come through, but as it was a valid claim they were fantastic - paid for everything they said they would once I made my claim at home and sorted my hospital and flights home whilst in Vietnam. Just the kind of insurer you'd hope to have behind you in a tight spot.

Peace of mind

When anyone goes travelling out of Australia, you try to make sure that you have insurance to cover everything you can think of. Luckily, on this occasion, we didn't need TID's assistance, but just knowing we had help 24 hours a day in case we did, made our holiday even more relaxing. Being a more mature couple (young 60's) going on a cruise, we wanted to make sure all our bases were covered in case something happened while we were at sea - what if one of us got really sick or had a heart attack - would we be covered for medical evacuation if we needed it. Yes we would have. What if we had lost passports or money overseas before boarding the ship. Yes - help was just at the end of that phone number they gave us. That's what good insurance travel is for - all those unforeseen things. As I said, on this occasion we didn't need TID's help, but when we go cruising again next year, we'll be getting a TID policy to take with us.

Great service with claims dealt with quickly and efficiently

I have used TID every time I have traveled their rates are reasonable and on the one occasion that I made a claim I had no problems getting in contact with them, unlike another well known company I used prior to finding TID. My claim was dealt with quickly and the whole process was really simple. Wouldn't deal with anyone else. Thank you.

My claim was approved

I was worried because when my iPhone was stolen in bogota airport the police refused to write a report for me. I ended up making a statement with the information desk/customer service, and thankfully they also sent me follow up emails confirming this. With all my other documents my claim was approved up to the maximum

Easy to use and communicate with in times of need

Stuck in Bali during the July 2015 ash cloud saga I found TID easy to contact for advice and information leading to a re-booking of a cancelled flight after a 7 day delay. During the claim process help was not far away from the courteous staff.

Straightforward claim process

I lodged a claim with TID following the ash cloud in Bali that disrupted flights. The claim process was straightforward, and I was kept informed regularly of the progress of my claim. When I was unable to provide a specific document to assist with the claim, the claims manager assisted me to seek it elsewhere to ensure my claim went through without delay. Given the number of claims that would have arisen out of this situation, I was impressed by how efficient it was handled. I have used TID for cover for travel for years and this was the first time I have had to claim. I will continue to use them for my travel insurance needs and have recommended them to my friends and family.

Had to claim - they were terrific!

Unfortunately I had to claim for an iPhone screen smashed while I was in New Zealand. They were very helpful on the phone. Easy claim process on the web. Assessed and paid within 2 weeks! Really recommended!!!!!!!

Fantastic company

After getting stranded in Bali due to the Volcanic Ash saga in July 2015 we had to make a claim withTID for the travel delay and additional expenses. I cannot rave about TID enough, what an amazing company! They def don't live up to the rep that travel companies have. They have fantastic and extremely helpful staff working for them who are there to look out for the customer. In the process of filling out my claim I had to call TID numerous times with silly questions and they were so helpful and didn't make me feel rushed or silly. When I finally put my claim in they paid out less than 2 weeks into our nominated account and sent a detailed report on what was covered with a breakdown of costs. What a professional company. This was the second time I had used TID as their price was so much lower than other quotes I received. I am using them again in Feb 2016. Cannot recommend this company enough! For an internet based company their staff are highly trained, professional and friendly. Well doneTID

Painless claiming

On a recent trip to New Zealand I required emergency dental work. With receipts and dentist's report I commenced by claim online (I travel with my tablet). It was an easy to follow process as was the purchase of my policy. I was able to save the claim for completion on my return to Australia. Back home with all relevant documentation in hand I completed the claim. I was advised by email that my claim had been received and would be processed within10 business days. Before the 10 days expired I received another email from the person handling my claim advising me it had been approved and payment to my nominated account would be made within 5 days. It was in my account within 2 days. In all it took less than 14 days from submission to payment. I mentioned this to my travel agent who seemed very surprised that it was so quick as claims through the insurance company they recommend, takes a lot longer. Full marks to TID for giving me peace of mind on my holiday.

Always effcient response, easy to use.

I sent a claim off while the Bali ash cloud delays were happening. It still got processed in around a week, even though they said it might take longer. The forms are reasonably easy to fill out, you can fill out a pdf directly on your pc and send it off, no need to print, then scan, then send.

They were excellent and prompt

I found them to be easy to deal with. They responded quickly and make it clear what documentation we needed.Only issue was that the online form didnt allow for larger files to be uploaded even though they were within the file size specified.

No fuss claim... again!

Had to cancel my trip to Indonesia due to the volcano. Second trip with TID, second trip I've had to cancel (the first for medical reasons). This claim was just as easy as the first, the hard part was dealing with the airlines and travel companies. Thanks TID!

Doesn't cover tour cancellations

My tour operator cancelled part of my tour and then stopped replying to emails and wouldn't take phone calls. TID would only cover it if the tour operator stated in writing that they cancelled part of my tour. Except the tour operator wouldn't return emails or phone calls! I sent a complaint to them but TID ignored it. Do yourself a favour and buy travel insurance from a company that actually processes claims.

great follow up service

I've always bought TID and thankfully nothing has gone wrong in the past. This time I did have to make a claim and unfortunately I didn't have all the documentation the claim required. At first my claim was rejected, but luckily there was a customer service team which followed up and allowed me to explain my case in more detail. After which, they agreed to process my claim. I know why they need proper documentation but I am really appreciative they looked at my case on a singular basis and used their discretion to make the right decision! Will continue buying from them. Great value peace of mind. (Tip: if you have to go to hospital try and get a copy of the hospital report when you're there!!)
