have lodged 2 claims which were paid. One for a stolen phone and I could not get San Francisco Police to email the report, TID went to the trouble of contacting the police and the claim was paid

Our trip was rescheduled due to the ash cloud and TID were very easy to deal with submitting our claim. It was good to speak to real people about our rescheduled trip and subsequent new policy. I have since taken out another policy with TID for travel in 2016 and have confidence with the cover for my family. I would definitely recommend TID to family and friends.
I made 2 different claims for 2 trips I had in the last 3 months. Both claims went well and the processes were straight forward after I submitted all supporting documents requested. I would use TID again in the future for sure.
I also spent an extra 7 days in Bali due to the ash cloud. When I submitted my claim with all receipts for extra accommodation and meals incurred the matter was dealt with courteously and in a timely manner, with all these expenses refunded. I have since arranged to use TID again for my next overseas trip in 2016.
From the moment the ash cloud started causing flights to Bali to be cancelled, TID reassured us that we would be looked after, firstly with an unprompted email and then on 2 occasions when I spoke to a consultant on the phone. TID reassured us that everything would be covered and the steps that we should take. In a stressful time we were able to rearrange our holiday to an alternate location, safe in the knowledge that we would be reimbursed for our cancelled accommodation on our return. Could not speak highly enough of the staff and the claiming process.
I had a brand new iPhone stolen whilst in Hawaii. I literally left it behind on my seat for 30 seconds and it was gone. Reported it to the police which took hours. Because I didn't have it in my possession when it was stolen the claim was knocked back. They even said if it had been stolen out of my bag whilst on the floor underneath me it would have been knocked back also so be very careful when taking out this policy. I will never use them again.
This was the first time we have used TID, and it won't be the last. The on line application was simple, everything explained, and all completed within 5 minutes..
Excellent care from the first phone call. Everything covered, including Catscans Ambulance ICU Hospital Post Op care Medicines and follow up phone calls. Total cost to me $100 excess. Would highly recommend.

We needed to make a claim for our camera which stopped working after hiking on the Milford track in New Zealand where we had unexpected rains and had to walk through very deep floodwaters. The staff were very helpful in dealing with our claim and ended up replacing the camera.for us.

We were recently stranded in Bali due to the ash cloud. TID emailed us while away and reassured us of what we could claim in this instance. We didnt even contact them while away. They paid for all extra accommodation and meals whilst we were stranded. We were just reminded to keep receipts.
It's very hard to rate an insurance company when you don't have to make a claim (thankfully, we had plain sailing and a fabulous trip!) but I would definitely recommend TID to anyone looking for insurance (in fact I have already recommended them to a friend for her upcoming trip) as the price was great, and I have read very positive reviews from people who unfortunately have had to make claims. Receiving an email asking for feedback is another example of good service and backing their own product. I know of other insurance companies who wouldn't dare follow up with customers for fear of a backlash. I wouldn't hesitate to book TID again - in fact I will be doing just that as soon as we work out where our next holiday will be :-)
I recently went to a trip to Manali and had my luggage (camera and watch) stolen from my hand carry. Upon filing the claim, TID deemed it to be checked in luggage. I now suspect that the form I was filling out had a section there to select checked in luggage which I may have accidentally selected. TID takes a very long time to get back to you and stick to the full 10 business days up to the last minute. They also deem watch to be a jewelry when it actually should be timepiece. You basically pay for what you get. Cheap insurance and nasty service when there is a claim!
