So I wrote my review on the 9th and still no word back or email so they do care apparently I guess that's why the stores are so empty anymore.
Michaels Stores has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.

Great experience. I wish there was more of a selection, but the service makes up for it. Sylvia and the other staff members are always helpful and very nice. Pittsfield MA store.
I ordered some Strathmore Drawing paper from them but they send the wrong item. Upon contacting then they assured me that a replacement item was on its way and that the package would include an UPS return label for the wrong item. When I did not receive anything after 3 weeks I contacted them again and was told that I first had to return the wrong item they initially sent me via UPS and that only then would they replace it. My next UPS outlet is located a 275km away. Remember that it is them who sent me the wrong item. I was the one without my drawing paper, the one who wasted time resolving the issue and would be the one driving 275km at my expense to return the 20 some dollars item. Any other business would have replaced the item at no cost or would have at least offered to pay for the costs of returning the item. Me, and many of my friends, have decided that we would never again purchase from this business.
I've been to many Michael stores and the one in Pleasant Hill is the worst! Their promotions are so old school....mark everything up just to make you think you are getting a deal by giving you a discount. Let's not even talk about the amount of emails they send you just to get the discounts. I really only go here unless I'm in need of something in a hurry but then again the lines and long and I just dread going in and if you think you'll save time by curbside pickup think again.....you'll spend 10-15 minutes at curbside waiting for your order. Fact: Time is not renewable, you can never get it back. Don't waste it waiting in Michaels long lines, at their curbside pathetic pickup which they've never seem to master, and let's not talk about the times you have to call this store for them to even pick up. Sorry Michaels, I just can't support you anymore. Your enjoy Brand needs revamped!
One of the guest assistant's WENDY has been exceptional in assisting me the last few months. She is a true asset to Michaels. I am a frequent shopper at the Duluth, Minnesota store.
I don't know what locations have the negative experiences with Michael's. I have been a faithful customer for over 30 years as I enjoy knitting and decorating as well as party favorites. I make a list, get what I need and have my funds available at checkout. Always greeted with a smile and can easily find assistance if shopping in a different store. 😊
Unless your a white customer I wouldn't even attempt to shop here. Upon entering the store it wasn't 5 minutes before I had an employee ask me if I needed help finding anything I said no but afterwards she stayed in every aisle I was in refusing to leave even when other customers asked her for help. Now I have seen before on a previous visit a different employee follow a 20ish aboriginal woman around the same way today a 40ish aboriginal woman was being well stocked essentially. She even had the balls to come up behind me way to close so she could lean over to look in my very nice new coach purse. I didn't say anything as I knew I was doing nothing wrong and I figured after she could double check to make sure she hadn't somehow missed me stuffing my purse that maybe then I could shop in peace. Lol that would be asking to much. Anyways after all this as u moved aisles I lost her for not even a minute as she was answering a question and then not even 2min later a manager comes almost running up beside me and asked me to empty my purse and I know my law I helped inforce it in my previous job now even if I had let's say put something in my purse which I certainly did not but if I had I'm not stealing until I try to leave the store without paying for an item. So anyways I went to show her the stuff on in my purse and she stated the pens which is what I had been looking at and the 2 I had picked up I then picked up again to show her they were in my cart still because I told her I do have pens in my purse but they are used and I have the book with me to prove I had them before but with that statement from me she asked me to leave which at this point more then fine with me I'm not giving this racist against aboriginal woman for sure. I feel bad for my thoughts on the previous visit as I assumed the reason the other girl was getting followed was because they watched her steal something either this visit or a previous one and I come to figure out it probably had nothing to do with that and that michaels employees seem to be told to follow all aboriginal woman around which has made me appreciate online shopping so much more and I'll also be sure to tell anyone I heat mention this store that shopping here is helping to fund a very racist store. Sad really I had only gone in to try to shop local you know spend my money with my neighbors because it certainly wasn't saving me money shopping here instead of online. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE IN THIS DAY AND AGE TO FOLLOW SOMEONE BASED SOLELY ON THERE RACE.
I have added several items I'm my shopping cart. Now, I can't delete, adjust quantities, etc. The shopping cart is laborious at best. I'm so frustrated and pissed at the amount of time trying to place an ORDER...MONEY...HELLO MICHAEL'S! WHO is managing this company??? The CEO needs to get a grip on reality of the purchasers who keep this company alive...the customers!. Fix your online system for the love of GOD! CEO, HAVE you tried to purchase from your own website?
I’ve been coming to your store in North Riverside Illinois probably when it started I’m a woodcarver and I have used your paint brushes some of your wood craft boxes a lot of your eucalyptus and many other supplies this was the best experience that I’ve ever had all three employees that I talk to we’re very happy to take care of me were knowledgeable helpful and generally totally like their job at the checkout I even made the comment to the girl because she had a nice smile on her face she asked me to come over. to her area to check out and she had actually seen me coming up and she was not behind the registers she went to the registers so that I would not have to wait and it was only one person at another register. I told her you must really like your job she just continue to smile at me and said I enjoy myself here she asked me if I found everything that I needed I told her I was taken care of very well here in the store and she said I’m very happy that you got what you wanted and we like to see you back again I did not get the names of the three employees they were younger people and normally younger people are not as courteous as older and I am 70 years old it was a very nice experience to come into your store thank you very much
Terrible!!!Very unprofessional service,Never going back to this location again,they have Hiring signs all over but the Manager with blue hair said it's just part time and not many hours????Online said Fulltime,I'm very furious I waisted my time!
Every visit to Michael's is a pure joy. I'm always greeted politely and asked if I need any assistance. The staff is always willing to go above and beyond to help me find what I'm looking for. I usually engage in fun conversation it's like shopping with your friends. It's always okay with me that I spend extra money because I'm always building up my storage at home. Everything is worth it and I have such a great time coming there and you always have everything I need and if you don't have it on hand, you'll make sure that I find it. I love Michael's and I know dozens of other people that do too. I'd love Michael's. I spend hours there just sorting and looking and daydreaming. Running through fun ideas with your staff. Isn't that what the store is all about I love it.
I am so pleased with the inventory and personnel at the Michaels store on Randall Road in South Elgin, Illinois. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. I travel farther to this location, due to how great everyone treats me. Everyone, always makes me feel special and appreciated, each time I enter the store. Keep up the terrific work, everyone. You are very much appreciated!
Their customer service is the worst! I contacted them first about a damaged item. I got moved around to three different agents with no warning and had to repeat myself 3 times. Just now I contacted them again because my order is lost by OnTrac and keeps being “delayed” (it’s happened before and they just lost my package). I’m being told that they can’t refund me or reship my items because “there’s a delivery date”. I explained the delivery date keeps changing and it will continue to change (still have an open tracking from a lost package that has been delayed for 2 weeks). They told me to contact them if I don’t get it by the new date and then just ended the chat. F*** Michel’s customer service. Never buying there again. Thank goodness Target has better customer service.

They're 2 ladies at Michael's that I would like to give a shout out to and that is Bree and Marion they are always there to help me with what ever I'm looking for in the store.
I recently made a series of online orders from Michaels for picture frame mattes. The first arrived bent, and I had no problem receiving reimbursement. A few weeks later I noticed what I thought was an extra charge in my online bank account. Now, let me say upfront that I forgot about the second (of three) orders that I made. I had made the mistake. But when I called Michaels, the rep apparently did not have this info before her and told me that it was an adjustment and that the full payment would be retiurned to my bank account. When it was not, I called again. This rep obviously didn't have the info either and kept trying to run me around in circles, telling me over and over to contact my bank. Finally, he put me through to a supervisor, and this man was able to tell me immediately that the charge was for the order I had forgotten! Now, why weren't the other two reps able to tell me this and save all three of us time and frustration?
Don't order online from them...unless you're prepared to wait WEEKS for items to ship. I placed a rather large order at the end of August. We're about to go into mid-September and there has still been no tracking or movement on three of the six items I ordered. Also, two items that were shipped arrived damaged and in a box that was way too big, so I now have the added hassle of having to process a return. Really disappointed that any employee would think that it's perfectly suitable to send a paying customer such clearly damaged goods; or that going on two weeks without bothering to ship an order is reasonable and good customer service. I'll never order online from them again, and it's shame because a lot of their seasonal decor sells out fast so I wanted to make sure I was able to snag some pieces I wanted. It's proving to not have been worth the money or the time.
Went to go find out about custom framing awhile ago, and the gentleman that was in that section of the store was extremely rude. No one was around at first, so I had one of the team members radio for the person that was supposed to be there, and he came out form the back super annoyed. I asked him a couple questions and he treated me like I was dumb. Super short answers, acting like I was wasting his time. Very condescending. In the end he told me to come back when a sale was on - which is fine, but getting to that point made me not want to return. I have been so nervous about going back into Michaels since, and I had to get my husband to come with me when the sale was finally on because I was horrified I would have to deal with this guy again. Luckily he was not there. Seems like a lot of Michaels employees are not happy to be there.
The website is ridiculously slow. I don't shop Michael's as often as I would if their website were of even average speed. In the internet age any business that wants my business must not waste my time.
Love Michael's and all the options they have. I also like the fact they are open on Sunday's when I need them.
