Review summary
KIA has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
Kia Bolton absolute rubbish. Went in in March 2024 to buy a car but the system was down so promised a call back, and 16 months later it still never happened so I bought it somewhere else, now trying to BUY a service plan and promised a call from the service team, 7 days later still no call. Speak to Kia customer service and they send you to the dealer who never call back. If this is the service they offer when I am trying to buy something imagine how bad it would be if I had an issue. I have had 4 Kia's now and this will be my last one
DM Kieth Kia Leeds.
Absolute pleasure from ordering to picking up my new car.
Tony was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and explained fully how the Motability Scheme works and how it would help me to purchase my new car.
He was instrumental in me choosing this route , as it had always worried me in the past.
Tony kept me informed regularly regarding when the car would arrive and when the adaptation work would be carried out.
The whole experience has been stress free and very straightforward .
I love the new Kia Sportage and would highly recommend the Leeds Kia dealership to anyone who wants an excellent buying experience.
I would have given them a 5 star review except for the fact that one person at the desk let them down .
I had a front camera replaced and when the work was don , the bumper was not put on straight . Had words with a certain individual that worked on the desk .
After trying to sort out the mess , I finally had a call from the service manager Bobbie !
He sorted it out with flying colours, excellent service ,polite to the point and extremely professional.
Hopefully the of his staff will take note of how it should be done .
Well done Bobbie. And thank you !
Today Monday 7th I walked into kia bristol to look at the price of a brand new picanto .I wandered around the showroom giving the salesmen plenty of time to acknowledge me AND NOTHING. I WONT BE BUYING A NEW CAR AT THIS DEALER.( shocking service) GO ELSEWHERE.
After care service was the most terrible experience. Even after complaining to kia the sent me a a letter saying they were happy it was all dealt with and now consider the case closed. The worst part about this was the last part of the works promised on the car still haven't been completed. Thumbs down
Booked test drive for new Kia E-niro with confirmation of test drive, arrived 9 days later for test drive.
No one knew I was coming with my wife and then was told by sales team that the car was no longer on site as manager had taken it home ! Poor communication between there own staff and not realised that a customer had booked a test drive in first place. Decided to purchase ev elsewhere very unhappy and disappointed with Kia.
After a rather unpleasant time this morning at Kia TowerHill Chipperfield , no matter the situation never call a customer a liar, 3 times in fact, never allow your ego to get in the way and never get defensive with the customer when it’s not necessary
Never tell the customer they are being rude and bolshy
Always listen , I mean listen to your customer and then see how things can be made right
And this was from the manager.
A very upsetting experience, we went to finalise buying a new electric car which we ordered a year ago
I’m not sure I would have experienced this in BMW, Mercedes or Audi
Inspire to be as good as the best
Kia Soul EV from new.
Kia Triangle in Chesterfield have never put a foot wrong. I have had about 5 or 6 cars from them (if I include cars for family members) They always help, make a claim on my behalf having looked at the problem and if it can be done they do it with the minimum fuss and expense..
I am probably not a "car enthusiast" but I certainly am an enthusiast for my Kia cars as they are faultlessly reliable and inexpensive to own.
KIA STEVENAGE. DO NOT BUY FROM! DIABOLICAL SERVICE!
I purchased my Kia Sorento Sept/19. Amongst other things - it had 2 front tyres that were bald on one edge - so at the viewing they agreed to change the tyres. I was promised that the tracking would also be sorted. I was promised a clean MOT, FSH and 7 day drive away Insurance. 2 weeks later, I went to pick the car up. Manager not there, I waited 4 hours to sort the sale, MOT had many faults/advisories on it, including engine oil leak, gear transmission oil leak, also windscreen cracked, No paperwork (apparently it was locked in the safe). Kia had only replaced 3 tyres (tyres should always be replaced in 2s or 4s). No insurance provided so I then had to sort it out there and then (cost me a fortune as I was in a panic). Spare key not given as battery flat. Kia promised to come and pick up the car and sort the problems the following week. I took the car straight to a reputable garage who were shocked to see that the tracking had not been checked for a very long time, if ever!! I sent this report to Kia. EVentually they picked the car up and said they would have it a few days. They actually had it nearly nine weeks! They did give me a courtesy car but unfortunately this broke down and was relayed back to Kia (an hours drive from me) at my expense and I had to hire a car at my expense! I made over 40 calls to Kia and sent over 20 emails. Excuse after excuse regarding my car. I told them I no longer wanted the car and my money back. Only then did they get my car back to me. Sadly, there is NO paperwork and I am stuck with a car with 96,000 miles on the clock with NO service history (FSH was yet another lie from the dealer). They told me that the crack in the windscreen was too small to fix (absolute rubbish according to AUtoglass). I very much doubt they even fixed any of the other faults. They agreed to reimburse me £122 pounds that I claimed back but they have not honoured this despite asking me to send my bank details on at least two occasions. I agreed not to give a bad review if they honoured my £122 and I agreed to let the other issues go but they could not even do this and I never received my money. I will be putting my experience all over Social Media, Watchdog and I will be sending my case to the Motor Ombudsmen. Just under £8k on a car is a lot of money to spend to receive such a shocking service where even a simple phone call appears to be too much trouble.
I'm really surprised to see the rating. I bought my Picanto from new, had a great £99 service plan and the only issues I had are:
Being led to believe all the white ones were sold.
Tyres didn't last long - my replacement all weather ones have gone much further and I'm a careful driver
USB is useless
It's needed a jump start twice but that's when we had cold snaps and I wasn't using it much - no fault of Kia.
They were obliging in replacing wheel nuts which had rusted
Not always the best service - they wanted to charge for a replacement log book when I forgot yo take it for a stamp at the other side of the country (original purchase location).
I purchased 3 Mots for £69 and moved after one... A shame for my pocket!
They wouldn't negotiate a better deal at point of sale, not even free car mats!
So I give them 4 stars, based on the above and the cracking reliability of my car to date, which boosts the score considerably.
The Kia 7 year warranty DOES NOT EXIST.
The car itself is really good, smooth ride, good handling, super economy. What is really poor is the after sales service. By both the dealership, National Capital Motors in Canberra and by Kia themselves. Apart from the Service department personnell being absolutely so rude and unhelpful, they were obviosly trained bt Kia.
My Cerato, purchased in December 2018, has a really inaccurate speedometer (when the speedo shows 100Kph the actual road speed is just below 90Kph). I have had one attempt to run me off the road on the highway by a 'b' double who thought I was going to slowly and one attempt in Canberra by a holden ute who was in a hurry I have approached the dealer on three separate occasions and asked for it to be adjusted, to no avail, they won't even talk to me about it. I contacted Kia headquarters where Matthew flatly refused to listen to me and practically called me a liar. I am currently dealing with fair trading, who are going to make representations on my behalf. I have a 'mechanics' report from National Capital motors in Belconnen, Canberra that clearly states that the car IS doing 90kph when the speedo says 100kph.
The gearbox is also defective in that the car changes back to first gear when the transmission fluid is cold for no apparent reason.
The passenger side front proximity detectors don't work, despite the 'mechanic' cleaning them the day after I washed the whole car.
I bought a Kia car, paid 22k, car was nearly new after 5 weeks car problem started, there is no smart key response and none of the door open except driver door. I phone Kia , they said it will take 5 days to check .
I requested courtesy car , they gave me appointment after 2 weeks . Gentlemen mentioned they only have 4 cars for replacement for their dealership .
I bought This car for private hire , so I lost all of my busiest period Christmas earning for 3 weeks . and need nearly a month to sort this out ( 17 days plus 5 days).
I can’t even rent a car for myself , because don’t know hope long they need to fix it .
If car need any parts may be more time .
Only reason I am sharing this to aware other people about the service standard .
Went to 3 different Kia Garages & received great customer service from 2 of them - Brentford & Eastbourne.
Ended up buying from the Eastbourne Main dealer . Adam there was helpful efficient & patient. It was worth the 2 hour drive from London both for the good deal and good customer service .
So much better than Mazda who were indifferent at best!
I bought a Kia Proceed earlier this year and until now have been pleased it. My wing mirror was damaged by a motorist who didn’t stop. I didn’t want to claim on my insurance so asked Kia to quote for the replacement glass as the housing worked perfectly well. How much do you think a six inch piece of glass would cost ....... £20? - £30? - £40 - £50.....
NO - £131!!!!!!
I emailed the CEO - Paul Philpott,of Kia UK - no joy!

I will not be buying another Kia again, my advice to you would be not too either.
