Poor service, poor communication, did not know what they were doing. For example, despite asking 3 times exactly what I had to do for exchange of contracts for purchasing and selling a house and solicitor saying "it would be fine that the 10% on the house we were selling was less than the 10% we were buying" and me checking that 3 times, I was called at 4.30pm on the day before we were due to exchange contracts for the solicitor to ask in a very blase manner if we could just transfer some tens of thousands of pounds there and then! Most stressful experience of my life, never felt confident in them, amazed the sale actually went through.

Victoria and Helen were brilliant really lovely, helpful and very proactive. The reason I gave 4 stars was because of my poor experience with the welcome team. It took so long to allocate cases I had to keep chasing and the information provided by them when I had queries was not great. Such a shame as once I got past this point everything was very good.

Great to communicate with

Very helpful and efficient when able to speak to someone, but not always able to get through. There was a discrepancy between the mortgage requested and subsequently provided. An explanation or breakdown would have been helpful.

The team were simply great, the sellers agent said they were the best they'd ever seen. Thank you to Helen and Victoria, simply a delight to work with.

Without diving into detail we had too many solicitors handle our conveyancing case. I have genuinely lost count but it could be between 4-7. This caused confusion, delays and stress. We did raise a complaint which was addressed with an explanation of why this was the case but we didn't feel supported. We had another change of solictor on day 2 of exchange which we had been promised wouldn't happen again. They got the job done but nobody answered the phone apart from Tina the assistant who we appreciated and did a good job! 5 stars for Tina! It was just unnecessary the amount of stress. Communication would have gone a long way. We weren't expecting solutions as this wasn't BBH who were responsible for the issues, but we were so disappointed by the level of communication. It was weeks and on occasion over a month for updates. We didn't feel like we were seen as people, and were just an annoyance they had to deal with. We did our best to be as patient and helpful as possible. We replied to enquiries immediately only to find out our buyer raised one in May, we responded to our solicitor on the same day and it wasn't picked up again until late August on exchange. We were a returning customer so this was a disappointment. Overall they get the job done, but the processes and case handling need some work. Too many locum solicitors who do a months work and leave again. We won't be using BBH legal in future unfortunately.

The process was relatively smooth and my convayancer was responsive to any queries. I also received regular updates. Some questions could have been answered more directly, however, as I would often have to reiterate or reword qs to get a clear answer. Following completion I was also asked to pay an additional sum due to a miscalculation (left out cashback from the mortgage lender). Would be good to avoid this in future.

Professionalism, Respect and Short waiting time.

I used BBH as for conveyancing, to help with the purchase of my first flat. My sollicitor was friendly and professional and was very willing to answer all the questions I had as a first time buyer. Although there were some initial delays and communication issues before I was allocated to a sollicitor, these were addressed promptly once I raised them. Overall I was very satisfied with the service BBH provided.
