We pre booked and paid for our seats 3…

We pre booked and paid for our seats 3 months before our flight. We were given different seats I explained we had pre booked & was advised cabin crew would sort it out on board . They didn’t . The seats we paid £120 for had been resold the week before our flight & those were the passengers sat in the seats. It was so upsetting. Cabin supervisor said contact Sri Lankan airlines when home for refund. It took 4 months of almost daily emails to them which 90% were not even acknowledged before our money was eventually refunded but again after that email , which advised it would take up to another 20 days for our money to reach our account it took another month. Absolutely awful experience & we will not reuse Sri Lankan airlines. I don’t understand how by law they can re sell seats that are already sold .

Srilankan Airlines is the worst

Hey everyone, My recent flight with SriLankan Airlines was an absolute nightmare. As a Sri Lankan citizen and a student in Malaysia, I thought supporting our national carrier was the right move. Boy, was I wrong! I show up at the airport ready to go, only to be told my seat was given away because the flight was full. Ended up taking a detour through Chennai with a three-hour layover before finally reaching Malaysia. Not cool, especially when I had booked a direct flight. To make matters worse, the person at the boarding pass desk was so rude and ignorant! Tried to sort things out at the boarding desk, but they couldn't care less. Forced me onto a transit flight without a second thought. To top it off, my baggage decided to take a detour of its own to Chennai! So there I was, stranded in Malaysia without my stuff. Lesson learned: Avoid SriLankan Airlines at all costs if you want an easier trip. Save yourself the headache and go with a different airline.

Ubegrundet afvist i checkin og ingen refusion.

Jeg blev nægtet check in i lufthavnen af SriLankan Airlines, da de mente at mine rejsedokumenter videre til Kina ikke var i orden, selvom de var. Efterfølgende ignorerer de mine henvendelser på mail, telefon og gennem mit booking bureau.

Here's a very bad review based on the experience you described with SriLankan Airways: --- Title: Unprecedented Disappointment with SriLankan Airways I am utterly appalled by my recent experience with SriLankan Airways. My flight was abruptly cancelled without any explanation provided, leaving me and other passengers in utter confusion and disarray. The lack of communication was astounding. Despite numerous attempts, I received zero response from their customer service. Even more frustrating, no one at the UK office seemed capable of picking up the phone or responding to emails, including the head of the department, whose involvement in resolving the issue was non-existent. The absence of basic customer support and accountability is not only disappointing but also unacceptable for an airline of its stature. This experience has significantly diminished my trust and confidence in SriLankan Airways, and I am left with no choice but to advise others to reconsider booking with an airline that shows such disregard for its customers.

Disregard for passengers

On the final day of our honeymoon Sri Lanka Airlines helped to ruin it. They didn't check us in for our full journey (which we didn't know) causing us to miss our third and final flight. Their partner airline Malaysia Airlines forced us to wait in a 1 hour 15 minute queue at the transfer desk only to turn us away and say it was too soon until our flight. Upon calling Sri Lanka Airlines they offered absolutely no support to help us get another flight. We also found out the airline marked us as no show - a major security concern as records clearly showed we flew from Colombo to KL and this was not our final destination. Neither airline made any effort to find us at the airport despite us being at the correct location. I believe the airline never wanted us on the third flight as we found out our baggage was never sent to the plane and we kept having staff lie to us and give us conflicting information. We had to book a new flight for $1200 (although Malaysia Airlines tried to charge us $2400 from KL - Perth) and have been provided not even one dollar of compensation. I am absolutely disgusted by this experience and will never fly with either airline ever again.

Ich bin eigentlich immer ganz gerne mit…

Ich bin eigentlich immer ganz gerne mit dieser Airline geflogen, zumal es die einzige Möglichkeit ist, non-stop nach Sri Lanka zu kommen. Im Oktober 2023 wurde es plötzlich zu einem Stapelflug, heißt von Colombo nach Paris und dann nach Frankfurt. Nicht so toll, aber noch ok. Nun aber (02.04.) werden die Flüge durchgeführt durch die Air Belgium durchgeführt und war eine einzige Katastrophe. Hinflug 6 Stunden zu spät und keinerlei Hinweis (war mit technischem Defekt zu spät in Colombo gestartet), also hätte man via Mail informieren können. Aber das schlimmste war die Maschine an sich. Für die Kurzstrecke vielleicht noch erträglich, aber nicht für die Langstrecke. Die Sitze: unterster Standard, zerschlissen, unbequem, Schlafposition konnte man nur mit Gewalt einstellen, Displays defekt, Fenster an Toilette irgendwie im Klebeband abgedichtet. Dass solche Maschinen schon mal wegen eines technischen Defekts nicht starten können, kein Wunder. Solche Maschinen gehören aus dem Verkehr gezogen. Bin mal gespannt, wie mit meinen Schadenersatzansprüchen umgegangen wird. Fazit: wenigstens so lange Belgium diese Strecke bedient: auf gar keinen Fall!!!

Terible experiance avoid at all costs

absolute crooks, delayed by over 36 hours getting home due to missed connection. No F*cks given, put into a dirty hotel but they do not care or give a dam and no compensation given. Avoid at all costs as Zero customer service or support

Cockroaches on the plane

Cockroaches on the plane - crawling on our seats and on the tray tables and extremely unhelpful staff. My complaint has still not been acknowledged 4 months later after multiple attempts to speak with someone. Never fly with them

A very long flight

The food was not very nice, the movies were all old films and the service although reasonable they never tell you when or what the cause of any delays were. And 10 hours of poor food and poor films does not make for a good flight/holiday

The staff are lovely but...

The staff are lovely but.... for the third time I have had a non working TV on the flight. 10 hours with no entertainment is difficult. I have also in the past had a broken food tray that red wine slipped off and covered me and a 4 hour wait for headphones on the rare occasion my TV was working. Sent complaints before that have never been responded too. If I visit sri lanka for a 6th time I will try Emirates. Can't be any worse!

A third-world air company

A third-world air company. I bought better seats but didn't get them on board. I asked company to refund but it's just ignoring me. A 4 HOURS delay with a night flight. Bad onboard service. Just awful. Pure incompetence.

Nie wieder

Hinflug war okay. Rückflug eine Katastrophe. Trotz Bezahlung keine Sitzplatz Reservierung statt dessen in der mitte getrennt gesessen. Maschine alt und dreckig. Verpflegung war sehr schlecht. Sitze kaputt und in den hinteren Reihen ging die Beleuchtung nicht aus. 1 Stunde in Colombo in der Maschine gesessen, weil ein Sitz defekt war und der Passagier da nicht sitzen konnte.

Warning! - Do not fly with Sri Lankan Airlines - Continuous cancellations and delays could result in their international license being revoked.

On the 25th February, my return flight from Colombo to London was delayed by 4.5 hours. Whilst I did received emails alerting me to the delays, they were numerous and confusing (at one point the flight time was actually brought forward by an hour!) and made it very difficult to plan travel to the airport. Additionally, I incurred additional costs related to extended hotel stays and changes in UK airport transportation due to the delay. I wrote to Sri Lankan Airlines on my return and it took more than a month to get a reply, despite their website suggesting it would be within 10 days. Unsurprisingly their reply stated "we regret that the Airline has not considered offering compensation to the passengers in connection with this situation. Thus, we regret that the airline will be not be able to accede to your request to offer any form of compensation in this regard.". I subsequently discovered that there have been such serious problems with flight cancellations and delays that the Sri Lankan Government has considered revoking their license to fly internationally (google it if you need proof). As well as reports of staff protests, staff disruption and rats found in the planes! (Again, easy to find info if you google). I strongly advise people not to fly with Sri Lankan Airlines. It's very sad as Sri Lanka is actually a wonderful country.

Très déçue par cette compagnie

Très déçue par cette compagnie. Plus de 5h de retard de vol à l'aller. Pas facile à gérer avec des enfants. Irrespectueux pour notre chauffeur srilankais qui nous attendait à l'aube (arrivée prévue à 5h30 le matin). Aucune compensation financière malgré plusieurs emails, courriers recommandés et appels téléphoniques (alors que c'est obligatoire selon la Directive EC n°261/2004). La seule réponse est "envoyez nous un email". La compagnie n'est pas membre de la Médiation Tourisme et Voyage donc pas d'assistance dans nos démarches depuis la France. On a l'impression qu'ils jouent la montre pour ne pas nous indemniser. A éviter... vous gagnerez du temps en choisissant une autre compagnie, même s'il y a une escale !

The worst experience EVER with an airline company!!!!

The worst experience EVER with an airline company!!!! We booked on their website a flight from Rome to Colombo, with a first connecting flight Roma - AbuDhabi, operated by Etihad and the second one AbuDhabi - Colombo operated directly by them. The problem is that their flight (the second one) has never departed! We received an email about the cancellation THE SAME MORNING, while we were boarding on the first plane, and then no more info or details. Once arrived in Abu Dhabi we looked for an info point, where we have been waiting for more than one hour for, at the end, being informed that the plane had some technical issue and so they would have been able to make us fly 2/3 days later. CRAZY! So that, we've been obliged to book a last minute flight with Etihad AT OUR EXPENSE. But that's not even the worse part of the story Now 4 months have already passed, we've been asking for the refund we deserve considering the flight cancellation, our extra money spent and all the troubles caused. You know what? All their contacts (italian office number, whatsapp support and online customers) tell us to reach their online refunds but NO ONE HAS NEVER DARE, EITHER ONCE TO ANSWER, it's like this team is unreal. What a terrible airline and terrible team that work there. I'm really shocked of their behaviour and i'm going to proceed with legal steps!

Broken entertainment, fleas and a ban on standing

No entertainment on outbound and inbound, told there were no aisle seats when there were rows of empty seats despite our tour operator trying to pre book. Many of us were bitten by fleas. Duck tape hold the toilet together and for me, worst of all was being told I could only stand if I was queuing for the toilet. Told it was a safety issue. The seatbelt sign was not on. I suffered very badly with leg cramps after the flight. Hideous, hideous airline.

Never fly again with Srilankian or Qatar Airways

Flew with Srilankian Airways and Qatar Airways to Sri Lanka from Denmark with my family in February. Worst flight experience ever.Delayed Flight to Sri Lanka of one day because of engine problem. No information of the next Flight at all at the Doha Airportport.Delayed Flight back to Denmark.Got the message by mail a few hours before leaving to the Sri Lanka Airport from the Hotel in Colombo.The Food and service in the Srilankian Flight was fine.But not Qatar Airways. I have a damaged Suitcase again this time (2nd time in the last 2 years) but no reaction from Srilankian Airways office,although the Srilankian Airways office wrote a form with fotos etc.on arrival at the Sri Lanka Airport. The same happend with Qatar Airways last year.This is the last time I'm travelling with these two Airlines.I hope this will help other Passengers not to choose these Airlines for their next trip.

Avoid this airline. No cancellation service whatsoever

Our flight Cochin - Colombo was cancelled. We were delayed 24 hours and had to cover all expenses ourselves. In Europe this cancellation would have secured each passenger a compensation of 600 Euro. Our expense of 750 US $ was ignored totally by the airline. Never fly Srilankanske Airlines if you expect better than 3rd world country service.

Keine Haftung bei Kofferschäden

Auf dem Rückflug von CMB nach FRA mit Flug UL 553 ist mein Koffer kaputt gegangen. Trotz Reklamation am Flughafen und Einsenden der erforderlichen Unterlagen an Srilankan ist bis heute keine Gegenleistung eingegangen. Auf Nachfrage wird nicht reagiert. Schade
