Little different but close enough. Friend loved it!

Needed to write a review after so many bad ones I’ve read here that got me nervous. My friend loved the gift - ordered champagne + chocolate strawberry tray and instead of strawberries she got two boxes of chocolates which was nicer. Glasses also looked little different than on the picture but overall they added more, nice basket, huge bow and all was packed carefully with a balloon (all made the way in perfect shape). Shipping takes 4 days so make sure to not order last minute. Thanks!

Do not order from here.

I purchased the cupcakes and wine Father’s Day basket. I ordered it on June 16th and it did not ship until June 23rd. I upgraded to the Fed Ex 3 day shipping (which is supposed to be 3 day shipping) and it did arrive on June 26th. It was late, not because of shipping but because it didn’t even get sent until a week after it was ordered. When it arrived it was not three cupcakes as ordered but one large cream filled cake. The wine was also placed on top of the cake and it was totally squished. The ice pack that was put in the package was totally melted and dripping all over. When I reached out to Hazelton’s I was told I should have upgraded to overnight shipping because I ordered a perishable item. I did not order a perishable item, I ordered 3 cupcakes not a cream filled cake. On their website it says under product details if an item is deemed perishable and they suggest the upgrade to the overnight shipping. The product details for the 3 cupcakes and wine did not say any such thing. I have the screen shot to show that was the case. They have declined to give me a refund because I agreed to the terms and conditions which state that perishable items should be shipped overnight. Again, I did not order a perishable item. The terms and conditions also state that they have a right to make a substitution if they do not have an item in stock. If that is the case then they shouldn’t substitute something perishable that did need the overnight shipping. Regardless of what else was shipped with the wine, the wine should also not be packaged on top of the other items. They refused my request for a refund. I even asked for a refund minus the wine that arrived in tact but they have stopped any communication with me. Do not order from here!

Worst experience from start to finish

Worst experience from start to finish I wish I had read the reviews before ordering from this company. The worst customer service experience I have had with any company that I can recall. I hope people read this and avoid the disappointment and waste of time and money I experienced. I was excited to send this gift to my sister and turned into a disaster. Please read on. Ordering Experience I accidentally put my own address as the recipient and realized right after placing the order. There was nowhere to allow you to update it on the website. I tried calling but got no answer and it didn't allow me to leave a message. The phone call would just end. I emailed and after two emails finally got a response and the address changed. Annoying and time consuming but this alone would not have prompted me to write a negative review. Delivery My order arrived damaged and melted. Below is the email I sent to them and their response: My package was delivered damaged today. They dropped off the box on the porch and didn't ring the bell. My sister saw them come to the door so went to pick it up right away but they should have rang the bell to let people know it was there. When she brought it in, it was damaged. See the attached pictures. It wasn't kept adequately cooled, a small totally melted cooler pack was all that was with it while out for delivery. I would like to get a replacement and to make sure it is packaged properly so it doesn't melt and the delivery people don't just leave it on the door step with no notification. Their response: Thank you for contacting us. Although we are sorry to learn about the condition in which the items were delivered, unfortunately, we are unable to compensate you for the damages that occurred under these circumstances. As per the terms and conditions you agreed to by placing your order online, we advise all customers against shipping perishable items – that is, any product with a lifespan that is subject to spoilage after a period of time such as fruits, cakes, cheeses and plants – using any shipping method that requires more than one business days' transit. Despite our best efforts, we can't guarantee the condition in which products of this nature will be delivered if in transit for longer time periods. We recommend that customers only ship perishable items if willing to pay for/upgrade to the fastest shipping method available during checkout (same-day, next-day, overnight); we also include this advisory in the product details of most of our perishable and custom baskets. According to your order confirmation, the shipping method selected requires more than one business days' transit: Ground Service® Delivery to businesses by 5 pm and residences by 8 pm. Ordering deadline: 2 pm today. Typical (Not Guaranteed) delivery tim (3 Business Days). I have several points on this: 1. They provide gift baskets with fruit, cake, cheeses and plants. They should be able to provide delivery of these products without them getting spoiled if that is your business. Many other companies do successfully and you don't have to pay for same day delivery. 2. They said I should have used same day delivery. I already paid $31 for delivery. It shipped Monday and delivered Tuesday. How much would I have had to pay for same day? Also, when it was delivered, the only cooling that came with it was a small cooler pack for a large cardboard container. There was no attempt to keep it from perishing. It would have melted with the same day delivery as well with such inadequate packaging. 3. When the package was dropped off the delivery service did not ring the bell or notify of the package being dropped off. My sister saw the delivery person so went to see what it was. Even with same day delivery if there is no notification and it is left on the door step with inadequate packaging, it still would have melted. 4. The company says on their recording that they are so busy with COVID-19. It is showing in their disregard for customer service.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!

If I could give this company a 0 star rating, I would. My order arrived damaged and completely melted. After contacting customer service and providing pictures of the condition that my order was received in, they were unwilling to provide a refund, replacement or compensation of any kind. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!

Horrible. Go elsewhere

Horrible. Everything was wrong/melted upon delivery and they didn't care or acknowledge. Go elsewhere To address their response: I had pictures, receipts and contacted the company immediately. They did nothing to resolve the issue (no refund, no replacement as they suggested below). The food arrived inedible and goods that should be refrigerated were avtually hot to the touch. Their response below is disingenuous and in no way reflects how they treat their customers. Go elsewhere. There are many other wonderful gourmet food basket providers I have used who provide exceptional service. Do not purchase from Hazeltons.

SCAMMERS

SCAMMERS. They took close to $200 off my mother and sent us a box of SMASHED GLASS. We emailed with photographic proof and they REFUSED A REFUND. It makes me very angry that they are still in business! They need to be SHUT DOWN, especially as what they are selling is very emotive, people want to send nice gifts to their loved ones and this company doesn't care in the slightest. Shady as all hell, please don't waste your money.

ZERO stars

ZERO stars. I purchased the unique neutral baby basket for my cousins first baby! It was a baby girl and this was clear that it was intended for a baby girl as I attached a message card to the basket. What was received was a completely different basket! None of the items matched what was on the picture. I contacted customer service and the case was handled by Quinton, worst customer service representative ever. And I work in the service industry! Would never treat my clients this way. Lack of empathy, did not do his best to rectify the situation just kept repeating terms and conditions and did not provide me with managers contact number or have them phone me. He kept reiterating the terms and conditions and I questioned why this isn’t stipulated on the page where customers proceed with their purchase. I get it if something needs to be substituted then fine but the whole basket? And worst of all, he points out that their team takes extreme care to ensure that all items in the basket are replaced as similar as possible. So you would think more neutral things would be selected in place of the items that were unavailable for the basket. Nope! A basket with a raggedy raccoon, orange, blues and green coloured clothing. They didn’t even take the time to investigate who this was intended for!!! Clearly for a baby girl. So pretty much just wasted $170 on this basket because their team is too incompetent to replace items that are similar as to what is provided on the picture. Obviously misleading their customers. They don’t put their last names in the emails because they clearly do not want to be accountable. STAY AWAY and SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!! There are so many other better basket services that would treat their customers better and who know how to handle these types of situations. Hazeltons IS A SCAM!

Do not order from this “ company “ I ordered a gift basket for my sisters Birthday - The Ultimate Salmon & Wine Gift Basket . I wasn’t notified that bags of beef jerky and garlic salami was the substitute - I am trying to get a refund but can’t even get in touch with customer service - so I spent 276.00 on beef jerky to send to my sister for her Birthday plus it was missing the extra bottle of wine that I added . Terrible “ company “ do not order from them

I would rate this a 0!! AVOID

I would rate this a 0!!! TERRIBLE! They should no longer be in business! The wrong basket was sent with missing and opened items! Customer service is a scam and have no intentions of trying to resolve any issues or to even offer an apology! You think you are doing something nice for a person who just had surgery and it turns into a mess! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. NOT ONLY CAN YOU NOT CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEIR EMAIL REPS ARE RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND 0 HELP. I ORDERED A $300 BASKET FOR MY SISTERS 30TH BIRTHDAY DURING COVID, NOT ONLY DID THE PACKAGE NOT COME, THEY REFUSE TO GIVE A REFUND. THEY SAID THEY NEED 30 DAYS FOR AN INVESTIGATION, ITS BEEN OVER A MONTH AND NOW THEY ARE GHOSTING ME. WHAT AN AWFUL COMPANY.

If I could give a zero star I would

If I could give a zero star I would. Packaged arrived 10 days after ordered, box opened and broken products inside. Oh and those said products? Not even what I had ordered. Contacted them on June 25/2020 and no communication from them other than a form letter saying that an agent has been assigned to my concern. That is not good customer service at all, and no I would not recommend anyone to use their services. Extremely disappointed with them!!!!!

Nightmarish service and product quality...

Terrible , very disappointing

Absolutely terrible . Despite ordering 5 days advance , it eventually arrived 3 days late . The flowers were brown and withered ! ( pink and white roses , imagine how they would look ) . Better to get Quality flowers from the local supermarket . Never ordering here again . Highly do not recommend anyone planning to order from this site .

I ordered two gift baskets/WRONG AND DAMAGED!

I ordered two gift baskets containing wine, flower bouquet in vase and snacks in a beautiful sea basket. Both orders received the wrong wine, warm mushy cheddar cheese (not ordered), dead and smelly rotten flowers, the wrong vase and one had a board in it and the other was an ugly brown wicker basket. Not ONE item was right in either basket and they were awful and rotten. Nothing says thank you like dead flowers and moldy warm cheese - totally mortified to send this to work execs. I called Hazelton's numerous times, emailed at least 4 times and no responses at all - NOTHING. This is the worst gift I've ordered and I'll never use or recommend this company again. AMEX is not letting me dispute the charge on a corp CC so I'm sharing the bad experience as much as I can via the WEB. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY it's a complete waste of money, NO customer service and a total rip-off.

Company Policy vs. Doing The Right Thing

I ordered a gift basket for a friend’s birthday that should have contained champagne, a bouquet of 16 strawberries dipped in French chocolate and a large bouquet of seasonal flowers. The basket arrived a week late with rotten flowers and two bags of chocolate covered cherries (champagne was fine). I am a public servant for the state of Nevada and was in the middle of a stressful and long work week when the basket finally arrived at my friend’s residence - the day it arrived, I was working a 14-hr day. That was a Wednesday, I called the following Monday when I finally had a day off only to be told that I missed the 5-day window to request compensation for damaged/incorrect products. I paid significantly more for the basket upgrades only for them to send an incorrect product which did not equate to what I paid for and the basket arrived with damaged goods anyway. I respectfully and patiently conversed with customer service via email (as Hazelton’s recommends), only to be written off when I politely requested a few times to speak with a supervisor over the phone. I attempted to call, but no one would answer or return voice mails. I was not looking for a full refund, but just for some kind of compromise as it would have been the right thing for Hazelton’s to do instead of hiding behind company policy and ultimately brushing me off without any effort to do what was right. I will never again order from Hazelton’s. I ended up finding a local florist near my friend and sent her a gorgeous bouquet, one of which she should have received on her birthday.

I was disappointed with the gift…

I was disappointed with the gift packages that I sent to my dad for Father's Day and one to his room mate as a thank you gift. The containers were not the ones advertised on the website, and my dad even made fun of the container it came in (after I painstakingly picked out a gift container that I thought he might actually like) - I would not have chosen those gift packages if I had known they would substitute the containers. They were also supposed to come with greeting cards, instead there was printer paper stapled to the outer wrap and the recipient's names were not on it (so they were actually confused and didn't know which one was for who). Overall, the packages looked cheap and were not what was indicated on the website. I spent a lot of money on them, and I am sorely disappointed with what we got from it. I did not get my money's worth from these gifts

FOR RESIDENT'S OF ONTARIO, THE ACT STATES, "False, misleading or deceptive representation 14 (1) It is an unfair practice for a person to make a false, misleading or deceptive representation. 2002, c. 30, Sched. A, s. 14 (1). Examples of false, misleading or deceptive representations (2) Without limiting the generality of what constitutes a false, misleading or deceptive representation, the following are included as false, misleading or deceptive representations: **1. THIS APPLIES WHEN YOU DID NOT RECEIVE ANY SUBSTITUTE FOR AN ITEM YOU PAID FOR. **WHEN YOU RECEIVE A PRODUCT THAT IS SUBSTITUTED, unfortunately there's not much you can do about it unless it is of LESSER VALUE than the product intended. It is stipulated in their Terms and Conditions that the substitute must be of equal or greater value, (this is a generally followed practice amongst most retailers as well). Alternatively, you may argue that the company is operating in bad faith, as the provision that enables this behaviour is in a HIDDEN CLAUSE within their T&C which a reasonable person would not have anticipated. In all, this company needs to be shut down. IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO TELL YOUR NEIGHBOURS NOT TO BUY FROM THEM, PLEASE REPORT THEM AND DO NOT LET THIS BEHAVIOUR SLIDE. THANK YOU. My review: According to their Terms and Conditions, "from time to time, substitutions may be necessary to fill an order in a timely manner. Some of the items in our gifts/gift baskets may be backordered, discontinued or out-of-stock. In these circumstances, we will substitute items of equal or greater value in all cases." I ordered 8 items and of the 8 items only 4 were correct, 3 items were "substituted" and one item was completely missing. I contacted customer service and they would not provide me with a refund/exchange for all the incorrect items ordered or for the item that was completely MISSING under this "condition." Completely unacceptable. If you are paying for a CUSTOM basket it is surmised that the products you receive will be accurate. At the very least, I should have been notified of this condition prior to my purchase and or given the opportunity to choose the items substituted prior to purchase. This is completely unethical behaviour. TERRIBLE customer service and for that I will not recommend this business to anyone.

A surprise gift for Fathers day. A worse surprise for me

I ordered a gift basket for my husband. Plums, peaches, chocolate covered strawberries, Asiago dairy buffalo cheese and a small basket which was a compulsory for a gift basket of small, medium or large. They did deliver on the date I asked but instead of products I ordered they replaced them with 5 measly apples. a package of grapes, 2 cheaper cheeses, plastic cutting board and a medium basket. $ 81. 00 for this. Do the math. Their excuse was some of their suppliers stopped dealing with them so products are unavailable. So take the products unavailable off of your site. After given them a peace of mind in how I felt about their company, three emails later, and how they are treating cliental with deceit and disrespect, and defaming them on Face Book with the truth and sharing other peoples bad reviews, they even had the audacity, just yesterday, in sending me an e-mail asking me to rate their company and asking me how they can improve it. Get your head out of the sand and give it a shake. Too much. Read all the complaints from your customers and go from there...if you really care at all or like someone else said . "Get out of dodge" and off of Face Book. Period.
