This business needs to be shut down

I'm having the same experience as everyone else. They've just plain out taken my money. Nothing's been shipped, no one has received a gift, no one will return the voicemail you're force to leave and aren't replying to emails. If you use the chat feature to pretend to purchase a gift is the only way to feel like you might get helped, but I'm still waiting to "chat" with someone two hours later when there were supposedly only 5 people in the queue. Two hours later and there are still 2 people in the queue. This is $120 I had to work my butt off for that I won't get back. My brother and sister-in-law will not receive anything from me now. I feel this company has been scamming people for years. All of the positive comments I see sound like bots or paid good reviews. It is amazing that a business is able to run this way, they are getting hundreds from each customer and delivering just enough to make it look like they might be a business. They've even screw up what little bit they've followed through on. I'm so unbelievably mad. If I had the money to, I'd take them to court after seeing all of the people they've screwed over. Not to get anything, just to prove a point and get them shut down.

This is Internet fraud.

I should have read the reviews. I'm out 150.00 that I can't afford to lose but worse, 3 friends were disappointed waiting for a wine and cheese gift basket that never arrived. Can't we sue together? We won't get our money back but we could put these scumbags out of business. P.S. Post your experience with Hazelton's on your Facebook page. We can warn more people to stay away from these cheats.

Strong impression that this is a scam

I placed an order on 25th November for a Christmas gift to my brother in Toronto. I'd scheduled the delivery for 17th Dec, so in plenty good time for Christmas. The date passed and I received no dispatch notice, I contacted customer services via email and via the "online chat" which was just another email to send. Finally, I've called their "help" line and was only able to leave a message - impossible to speak to someone about the order. I feel that this is a scam and I would not recommend using this company. I paid via credit card and I am now going to try and reclaim the £70+ that I spent on a Christmas gift from them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I live in the UK and my brother lives in Toronto.

Consider other options at all costs.

Ordered on Dec 2 for a Dec 18 delivery date. Order still not shipped as of Dec 21. Customer service is nonexistent. Phone and stay on hold forever. Leave a message and no call back. Get an email response which is nothing more than a form letter. No accountability, no concern for their customer and no restitution. This company over its head and operating a scam.

WHAT A SCAM!!!

WHAT A SCAM!!! I live in the UK, my daughter lives in Montreal, I ordered a $300 Canadian gift basket as a surprise for Christmas. Looking at the reviews, which I truly wish I had done before I paid, there was never any hope of my daughter getting this gift. I am appalled, disappointed and disgusted in equal measure, they are thieves!! Surely the Canadian consumer protection body can do something about these low life’s I am going to take legal action against Hazeltons, they seem to rely on people accepting their financial and emotional losses. DON’T UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE THESE UNLAWFUL, DISGUSTING EXCUSES FOR HUMANS ANY OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY

I really wish I checked the reviews…

I really wish I checked the reviews before I did business with them. They don't have any appreciation for customers. Got burned 2 weeks ago. They only delivered one out of two items purchased. Got a template or canned reply which is quite irritating.

These guys don’t even deserve zero…

These guys don’t even deserve zero ratings. They are scammers. Liars and should go to jail. So disappointed by their misrepresentation on an order that was supposed to arrive the same day. I’m still waiting!

DESERVES A ZERO RATING

This company deserves a ZERO!!! They firstly sent me the incorrect package! I paid 160USD and expected to receive 16 items including a sleigh, cutting board and a plush toy. What I received was three littles packs of chocolate that are worth no more than $5!!! This is DISGUSTING!! They didn’t send me a SINGLE thing I ordered!!! This isn’t even a “replacement” this is COMPLETELY INCORRECT! And their customer service is GARBAGE! They refuse to get back to you and their phone line has been cut (I wonder friking why). I’m honestly APPALLED at this company! I will be reporting them and I hope this company gets terminated for scamming all of us. Pathetic excuse for a company

DON'T USE THEM!

Same story as everyone else. They "substituted" the bicycle wire frame flower holder I ordered for a cutting board (because that makes sense) and "substituted" cheap chocolate instead of the truffles I ordered. When I contacted customer service they sent me the canned response below. Shameful of them to use COVID-19 as an excuse when this has obviously been going on for ages. Glad I hadn't recommended them to anyone and I never will. Here's their canned response: Thank you for contacting us. We couldn't be more grateful to all customers who choose to entrust us with delivering orders to their loved ones during these troubling and concerning times in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are sorry to learn that you are not satisfied with the products delivered. In addition to a dramatic influx of orders resulting in unusually high volumes as more customers turn towards online purchasing, several of our regular suppliers and partners on whom we rely to restock products have temporarily suspended operations over COVID-19 concerns. This development, in addition to our regular substitution policy which stipulates that we reserve the right to substitute products with the closest available alternatives when necessary, may result in you receiving items that partially or wholly differ from their original product descriptions, which is why you received a cutting board instead. Refunds/exchanges will not be issued for items that have clearly been substituted. Although it is simply not feasible for us to contact all customers beforehand to discuss potential substitutions, we are pleased to assure you that utmost care is maintained when making such adjustments on your behalf, which in turn ensures that orders are delivered as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding during these unprecedented times.

Disappointing. Tiny Bit Relieved. And Many Headaches and Back to Disappointed.

1st gift - Arrived on time but I ordered "HANDMADE CHOCOLATE DIPPED STRAWBERRIES APPLE BASKET" for a friend in the USA. Even paid FEDEX 2 guaranteed days shipping so the strawberries remain fresh upon arrival (as they suggested). It arrived and what did she get? A Brown & Haley Cashew Roca The Original Buttercrunch Toffee Cashews which I could get from the supermarket! I paid $41.24 for this?? RIDICULOUS! Tried to call, email, live chat - absolutely nothing. Ended up a dispute through Paypal. Communicated with the Seller and their reason they have the right to substitute something equal or greater value than the item I ordered. A Brown & Haley Cashew Roca The Original Buttercrunch Toffee Cashews equivalent or greater than USD41.24? What a joke. Come on. I replied and they never responded after that. 2nd gift - delivery to Canada and was 2 days late. However, I was relieved that it was the CORRECT items I ordered (strawberry chocolates in a basket with German beers). No damages and intact. 3rd gift- After all the headache of no notifications given, I had to ask my friend to find high and low for the gift. She found it but another disappointment. I ordered a Custom Wine Basket that should have two white wines (American and Italian) in a silver tin. What came? A brown cheap-looking basket with one white Australian wine (that costs USD$10) and a small forerror rocher chocolates (that costs USD$1.50). How is that equivalent or greater value than two wines??! I paid this for USD$76.40?? So not worth it. I had no choice but to apologize to my friend and order another wine from a different store. Everyone, order from this company on your own risk! Or just run far far away! It gave me such anxiety issues seriously. It is not the money but it is the thought of giving wonderful Christmas presents during this pandemic time. Hopefully, Paypal will help.

Scam

I've been trying to get hold of Hazelton's without any luck. We've sent emails, I've called and waited on hold, I've tried their online chat feature only to be told that nobody is there on the other side. Is anyone there? I’m alone in Canada, my parents are far away and it pains them to not be with me for my birthday. My family all chipped in to send me a gift basket and cake from Hazelton’s. Unfortunately the package never arrived. My recently unemployed parents have spent $400 on a gift that never even got delivered. We’re getting no feedback from the company at all. This has been incredibly disappointing for myself and my family. We all feel like we’ve been taken advantage of in a time when we are unable to see each other… companies like these are making 2020 especially painful. Please spare yourself the trouble.

Hazelton's advertising is not honest

Hazelton's advertising is not honest. They offer and charge delivery date option and do not respect that. The products are much different than described and shown on their website. They also select reviews on their website and hide the ones not favorable for them and by doing so they mislead their customers.

BEWARE!!

BEWARE!!! Save yourself the headache of ordering from this company! They're using the pandemic as an excuse not to refund orders! I placed an order November 25th to be delivered NEXT DAY and 13 days later it's still not been delivered and has been "delayed" for at least a week. I have requested a refund multiple times! They say no ....their excuse? They recently updated their policies and because of COVID-19 19 "customers are not entitled to refunds or cancellations " Basically "Tough luck" if it it's late or lost because of COVID-19. I'm sorry I'm calling BS, every other company out there has sorted out their shipping issues besides the fact that this is the function of the company itself! They do absolutely NOTHING to resolve the issue. Ridiculous , unacceptable and super shady to scam people by taking advantage of a pandemic

One star is being generous

One star is being generous. Ordered the Barrel of Beer & Gift Basket for our son in Toronto. Only half the order was delivered and since then Hazeltons have tried to say that failure to deliver the missing items is within their terms & conditions. Customers from outside Canada/overseas be warned: DO NOT ORDER/BUY from Hazeltons!!

No Service

Our surprise birthday gift was not delivered on the day promised, even though we had ordered over two weeks before the required delivery date. Their website says "Hazelton's delivers gift baskets 7 days a week, ensuring your gift basket arrives when it needs to - even if it’s Saturday or Sunday". The invoice states that “We deliver on the date you picked! Delivery to businesses by 5 pm and residences by 8 pm.” We called customer service and were left on hold for over half an hour. We then left a callback number but our call was never returned. We then sent an e-mail and received a generic reply that “The expected turnaround time for responses is typically 24-48 business hours”. I don’t know what a “business hour” is and therefore have no idea what that is. The response three days after the delivery was due was that they were "unable" to cancel the order. TIP: Don't wait for them to cancel and give a refund. Contact your credit card provider and dispute their charge. VISA gave us a refund immediately and will debit Hazeltons' account.

BEWARE!! Not as advertised!

BEWARE!!! Hazelton's website says it offers a Chocolate & Ice Wine Gift Set, but when you look at the details, they're only including a Australian Yellow Tail Shiraz. Then, if you click on "upgrade my wine selection", it only offers you an $84 bottle of Inniskillin Vidal Ice Wine, not the cheaper Kittling Ridge Ice Wine shown in the picture. This is bait & switch advertising. I can't imagine how many upset customers they're going to have.

Worst international co I've had to deal with

Do not deal with this company.On the original order some items were not delivered which to this day were not refunded. Part of this order I had an annual order with the beer club that I finally managed to cancel. Now that it is cancelled, they keep on debiting my credit card. Non existant customer service. Not worth the hassle.

This was literally the worst experience…

This was literally the worst experience I've ever had in my life!!! Never ever will order here again. My package hasn't been delivered and it's way past the delivery time. I called customer service and boy oh boy did they make it worse. The guy I spoke to Amar was not even responsive to my queries and didn't care at all about the customer's experience. DIsgusting customer service. I'm pretty sure Amar was not even his name. AVOID AVOID AVOIDDDD!!!!!!
