I’m soooooo disappointed and embarrassed at the basket actually delivered vs. what I ordered. This is the 2nd time I’ve used this site and I’m so shocked, because the first time was great. So, I decided to reach out to Customer Service hoping for a sincere/helpful resolution.
Per the response from Customer Service, "We do take careful steps to ensure that all orders exceed expectations.” I ordered this basket way in advance (giving ample time to find the correct liquor ordered which is definitely not a scarce item), and up to the last email of shipping there was no indication of substitution. So, I struggle to see what "careful" steps were taking to ensure orders exceed expectations.
In addition, I didn't order a standard gift basket where they would have to put it together based on whatever was "had available" - it was a very specific request that I paid premium $65.00 for to have JOHNNIE WALKER BLACK LABEL 12 YEAR OLD SCOTCH WHISKY AND NOT A $60.00 CHIVAS REGAL 12 YEAR OLD SCOTCH WHISKY (NOTE: THESE ARE ALL COPY/PASTE FROM THE WEB WEBSITE, REFLECTING THE PREMIUM PRICE YOU'RE SELLING THEM FOR)
Based on the substitution policy Customer Service noted in their response "Some items may be temporarily unavailable due to various reasons beyond our immediate control, under which circumstances we reserve the right to substitute such items with similar products of equal or greater value to ensure that orders are delivered in a timely manner without incurring further delays, which is why I received a different liquor." However, they did NOT substitute my item with similar products of equal or greater value - kindly note the DIFFERENCE IN PRICE for the liquor I ordered at a premium price of $66 vs. the liquor in the basket of $60. THIS IS NOT equal or greater value and therefore violates the terms of their own policy Customer Service quotes and NOT IN COMPLIANCE with their own substitution policy.
In addition, I paid extra for a "It's Your Day - Birthday Cake Balloon 18", yet this was NOT included in the package nor addressed in the response from Customer Service, I tried to clarify with them if this was also substituted per their substitution policy and was “substituted” with an invisible balloon for equal or greater value (no response yet from Customer Service).
I was asked to provide pictures of what was received for them to investigate and I provided instantly.
One week later, still no response from Customer Service so I followed-up, and no response. Then followed-up again 2 days later only to receive the SAME/COPY/PASTE generic response they sent previously - "Some items may be temporarily unavailable due to various reasons beyond our immediate control, under which circumstances we reserve the right to substitute such items with similar products of equal or greater value to ensure that orders are delivered in a timely manner without incurring further delays…..” When I asked why am I getting the SAME response they sent 1 week ago vs. addressing my questions below, I was told “because your (my) situation has not changed:”
1. Why my liquor was substitute with a LOWER value liquor and NOT substituted with similar products of equal or greater value (per their Substitution Policy)
2. What happened to the Birthday Balloon I paid extra for – what was that substituted with since this was NOT in the basket.
Are you KIDDING ME, a week later your response is because my “situation has not changed?” NO ONE has addressed my two issues above, so I really DON’T SEE what did not changed.
From the UNACCEPTABLE basket received in violation of their OWN POLICY they keep quoting to the USELESS/UNPROFESSIONAL customer “disservice” received, I am at a loss for words. We’re in a PANDEMIC, and yet they have no care or human inkling to do the right thing, they have no idea what I moved around/sacrificed to be able to afford to send that gift and I thought they were a wise investment after a previous successful outcome – wow.
So in summary, DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY, HOPES ordering from this Company – they are heartless, take no care whatsoever with your items to even ensure they remotely follow their own policy and when you try to get them to resolve their unacceptable service they hide behind generic copy/paste responses vs. addressing your concerns with any human care. THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE, so if you want a gift sent with CARE/THOUGHTFULNESS and remotely close to what you’re putting together in your order, then PLEASE USE ANOTHER COMPANY.
