Please avoid this place - disappointment is their middle name

Please, please, please, don't order from this outfit. I ordered a chocolate pizza for my sister-in-law. on Dec. 10th 2020. The chocolate pizza was supposed to be a slab of delicious chocolate and chocolate covered stawberries. Instead my sister got three bags of Roca chocolates, four bruised apples and a sad-looking cutting board. It was like a present from the Dollar Store and it cost $111.00 CDN. It was horrendous. It was a gift you'd give someone you couldn't stand. Their fine print says they will substitute if they don't have the item. Can you imagine? No store would ever do that. Would Melanie Lyne, a highly reputable store, send you a different top if they didn't have the one you ordered? When you call Hazelton's customer service, you will be greeted by a computer generated voice who will never return a call. When you email, no one responds. They only email you will receive is to inform you when the 'gift' has shipped. They took forever to ship. I googled them and saw the off-the- chart negative reviews so I send my sister in law something else. I can write this off as a mistake. I feel sorry for people who get ripped off and can't afford to send their loved ones something else to replace the garbage Hazelton sends. I read a review from a guy who sent 150 baskets to his staff. They never arrived. It broke my heart. It's amazing that a company like this is allowed to operate in Canada.

Not fair!

Ordered a basket to be delivered by Dec 18. Still nothing has arrived. I just googled the company and they have been known for these shady practices. I put in a complaint at the BBB. Then I found a CBC article from Nov 2019 about their poor business practices and BBB complaints. Why is this company still in business? It annoys me that google recommended their website when I was looking for a company in BC. So frustrated to say the least.

Read this news article before buying

Stay away - I wish I had read this news article before buying. Apparently the owner has a history of running sham companies - google CBC and Hazeltons...eye opening read.

Horrible Service. Christmas hamper still not delivered. Irresponsible Customer service. I have ordered a Christmas basket on…

I have ordered a Christmas basket on 21st December, it is still not delivered. Their customer service is really bad. I am planning to complaint to Ontario consumer affairs. I advice others also to do the same, so they learn a lesson and realize their mistake and improve their service.

Placed an order around mid December for…

Placed an order around mid December for my daughter for New Years. We could not be together this year because of COVID so I wanted to surprise her and her partner. It is now January 4 and still no order. I have emailed them numerous times and tried to call the contact number. They have charged my credit card. Is this a scam or just horrible customer service?

Just plain horrible and scammers

On their site, as I write this, the "most recent" review posted is from July 2020. I assume that is because the whole shop has become zombied since then and is just active enough to charge credit cards and not fulfill orders at all. At least, they are no longer "approving" online reviews! It is a money-grab, hoping most people won't actually track delivery? I ordered well before christmas 2020, I was not holding out hope it would arrive by christmas, but now it is January 4, and they haven't even shipped the damn thing. Not one customer service email (update) or apology -- actually when I try to inquire, their customer service email box is full and bouncing email, and forget a phone call. Horrible scam.

Late, Lied to, Wrong basket, Missing items

I was the recipient of a gift basket for Christmas that arrived Dec 30. I did not want to let my mother know, who ordered for my family, that we did not get the basket ordered (totally different) and did not get a majority of the extra items ordered. I realize this was a gift and I’m writing a negative review but the product and service was so appalling something needed to be said. I am not letting my mother know this was a mess as it was initially infuriating for her to know that it was not going to make the promised Dec 23 delivery date. This basket was ordered Dec 4th. The customer service rep then blamed it on Canpar. No Integrity whatsoever. The wine and cheese plate gift basket was ordered. No cheese, No glass cutting board, One missing bottle of wine, multiple items substituted. No excuse for this horrendous job. An absolute disgrace.

Terrible customer service

I think the hamper was fine but I ordered it for December 23rd to be ready for the 24th when my family was getting together and I was unable to join due to COVID-19. When it didn't arrive, I called, and was directed by a robot to an email service, then directed to another email, then was told from a third email account that the package had arrived - shortly after which I heard from my mother that it had made it. This was on the 29th, 6 days late and pretty useless as a gesture by that point. I received no apology and a seeming confusion as to why this would be a problem in the first place. Would not recommend if sending a Christmas package for Christmas matters to you

I’ve ordered a basket from Hazeltons

I’ve ordered a basket from Hazeltons. It hasn’t been delivered. I’ve sent 4 emails that come back undeliverable. I’ve tried to call - no answer. I’m going to call Better Business tomorrow and my bank. I’m disgusted and sad with the service. I think this company should be shut down. How can they continue to take money from people and deliver nothing.

Same issue - Bad Company to deal with

Same issue! Placed an order before Christmas to get a hamper worth $500 delivered to my brother in law and sister in Toronto CBD. No tracking, all the emails bounce back and I can get a hold of them!! This is ridiculous service given they have already charged my card!

Nasty service - never delivered

Nasty service, nasty company that should be closed down. Tried cancelling order because it never shipped..... expected delivery date was December 24. How is this company allowed to say it’s number 1 in Canada? They never answer emails or phone calls. Annoyed and disgusted. Buy local they say! Well that’s a freaking lesson learned. They aren’t taking my hard earned money so easily. I will fight this and show up at their freaking door I have too.

Don’t make online purchase with Hazelton’s

Placed order online 10 days before Christmas. Delivery never happened. Customer service won’t reply. Tracking app suggests item is with courier. Credit card was charged, no Christmas for my family. 🙁

This company is a Sham or out of Business.

I am beginning to think this company is a sham or they are out of business. No response via email, phone, twitter or instagram in over 7 days. Computer generated IVR and they will not take a DM via social media. DO NOT ORDER from them.

BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE! Do yourself a favor and find another company to use. Their reported delivery estimates are a complete joke. Hazelton's is staffed with nothing but completely incompetent and unprofessional knobs. They will use every excuse to not fulfill their responsibility, nor will they offer refund or compensation for their failed services. They are an absolute sh@t-show. Do Not Use.

Disappointed - Order gift basket for my daughter for…

Order gift basket for my daughter for Christmas. Item did not arrive until 31 December. Nothing like beautiful gift basket on web site. Items laying loose in box covered in glue. Some items missing or poor substitute. Overall very disappointed. Unable to reach by phone and do not respond to my emails.

Do not order from this company!

Do not order from this company! I placed an order which arrived badly damaged. The orchid was bent and split in half, and the fruit was spoiled. I paid over $20 for shipping! After ignoring my phone call, they finally responded to a written request and wanted a clear picture, which I sent. Then they did not respond until I sent another request. They then refused any refund despite the obviously damaged product.

Horrendous company

Horrendous company. Late delivery and substituted wine and cheese which was entire order with unacceptable substitutes without any emails to discuss. Will never use this company again! Disgusting customer service when trying to sort out the basket when sent over a week late that was nothing like ordered!!

What a scam

What a scam. I ordered a champagne delivery for my dad for Christmas/New Years. I selected a a date but it was not sent. They do not answer their phone messages or emails. They also scrub all of the negative reviews once they are posted. This was money lost and such a disappointment. Avoid Hazleton's at all costs!

Very frustrated

Very frustrated. Same issues as those writing reviews. Placed an order early Dec for delivery on Dec 24. They took my money but nothing. After several complaint emails, I see today status changed to “shipped” on dec 31. Seriously a bit too late. And no one answers their phones. Ever. Be warned and don’t do business with this company.
