My gift arrived ruined, badly shipped, not full item purchased. I highly recommended to buy something from local shops near your friends/lovers but do not used them at all.
For probably the first time in my life I didn’t do my due diligence and I didn’t pay by PayPal . I was buying a surprise for my son and his girlfriend who have just been accepted on PhD programmes. It has, apparently been delivered, left on the front doorstep in a street in Philadelphia 🤦🏻♀️. They refuse to engage and they refuse to refund. As my heading says, avoid like the plague EDIT: They have finally decided to reply, over a year since my original review (!). Apologies all round but actually all it does is emphasise the company’s inability to engage…..they make it sound that I just got forgotten. I did not. I was actually emailing someone at one point but they effectively cut me off and refused to reply. Even when they were talking to me they refused to take any sort of responsibility and told me to speak to the courier. My contract was with Hazletons not the courier. As I said in my original post they refuse to engage Oh and they seem to have the same reply to quite a number of the reviews . I still employ you….. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE
Too bad you can’t give them less than 1 they are horrible. They do not respond to emails. They never answer the phone. Do not use this company. According to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Hazelton's has an F rating, the lowest the bureau gives out!
SAVE YOUR MONEY! If I could give -0- starts I would...Terrible experience!! Buyer Beware!! I ordered a basket as a gift for my father's birthday. He is in declining health and I wanted to give him something special to commemorate his birthday. This seemed like the perfect gift. I ordered a bed tray with several items, cheese, crackers, fruit, cake and a balloon. He got the cake, and cheese and crackers. Did not get the balloon or the bed tray--and I was charged for them. The only fruit in the basket was bruised, very green bananas that were very ugly. And it was late in delivery. Customer service is non-existant. They are completely okay that this "basket" was unappealing. I will NEVER order from them again. And their "Customer Service" needs an overhaul. Their CS Rep, Martina, is the worst. Their response to my complaint? $6.99 in STORE CREDIT for the balloon that wasn't delivered!!! LOL!! Seriously! Save your money and order from someone that cares about their products and customers. Obviously, Hazelton's does not!
I wish I had read the reviews first. Like many, many other people I ordered a gift hamper from this disreputable and unethical company. The order was incomplete and they refused to make good what was missing. Then they stopped communicating altogether. Whatever you do, do not use them.
The worst online shopping and customer service ever experienced. We placed a gift order for 5 different recipients and the website allowed us to choose a delivery date of 23 December. By the first week of January the gifts had still not been delivered but was impossible to contact the company by phone. We tried by email 3 times before we got a generic response. A week later, the gifts still had not arrived, so tried again with emails - again received a response that had no bearing on the email we sent to them in the first place. I requested a refund, as these gifts were intended as Christmas presents, and by now it was the third week of January. The response was a legal missive with terms and conditions and as our gifts did not fall into any of these so called “terms”, were not eligible for a refund. There were no apologies. Four out of the five items finally arrived after 4 weeks, and again after several more emails chasing the final item, the company insisted it had been delivered, even though through tracking we saw that no signature had been given. They even asked for a picture - how can you take a picture of nothing? They sent an email insisting it had been delivered, and the gift miraculously turned up two days later. Please do not ever use this company. I cannot understand how they are still allowed to trade.
I ordered a custom basket for my fathers birthday and even paid the extra fee to make sure it was shipped on the day of his birthday but it arrived a day early. Many items were missing, I sent 5 emails in the past 3 weeks but to my disappointment I still haven't received a response. Do better research than me and order from somewhere else!
Had to cancel my credit card because they were charging me even though I didn't buy anything. Customer service is awful, no reply. Even the bank told me it's a scam to get your money. ----- UPDATE: Finally got a reply from customer service, and no kidding, it took 10 back and forth e-mails for them to say they will contact the accounting team, still no idea if I will get my money back. ----- UPDATE: Never heard back from the accounting team.
After checking out the Hazelton's web site, which is very impressive and offers a great assortment of products, I ordered a gift online. The first order arrived without any issues and initially, I was quite pleased with the customer service. So, I ordered another gift. Then, the problems started. Granted, it was the holiday season, but I would have been happy to have the gift delivered some time in January. I was billed immediately but the recipient never received the gift. I checked with the recipient (a family member) in mid January and ... nothing from Hazeltons. I tried to contact Hazelton's several times by phone and email to check on the order status. By phone, no one answered and the only option available was to leave a voicemail. I never received a response to two voicemail messages. I tried emailing -- still no answer. So, I disputed the charge with my credit card provider. And, the documentation provided to my cardholder from Hazeltons has the first order and second order mixed together, so clearly they do not have a clue about what happened. So, my credit card company rebilled the amount to me. I feel that this company disrespected as a customer and frankly I feel "ripped off." Please be careful about doing business with them. They are clearly not capable of handling the holiday volume -- or even more than one order from the same person. I eventually contacted another company that I had worked with in the past, and their gift basket was delivered in good order and on time. Never again with Hazeltons!
Do NOT order from this company. Paid a premium price and did NOT get what was advertised. Asked for a refund and they said they are allowed to substitute products. This is false advertising to charge a premium price for inferior products. Very disappointing.
I created a custom basket and when my wife got the basket we were both surprised. Out of all my items that I specifically chose to be in the basket, they only included ONE!! Those items were part of a whole valentine weekend for my wife and they pretty much ruined my entire weekend. My wife is coming off a pregnancy and I did not want any food or sweets and they put that in without notifying me. I realize they can substitute if they choose but they never notified me that some of my items might not be available, let alone all of them but one. Had I known I would've cancelled my order or ordered something else. When I sent a complaint they used covid as an excuse and shrugged it off. THEY ARE DECEIVING THEIR CUSTOMERS BY NOT NOTFYING THEM ABOUT ITEMS NOT AVAIBLE. THEY PUT TOGETHER A BASKET THAT YOU DID NOT PAY FOR, IT'S VERY DISHONEST AND NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY!!! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE
Absolutely disgusted! A friend sent me a photo of what she ordered for a gift for me for my birthday and what I received was not even close to what she had ordered and to add the product received was not even a 1/4 of what she spent!!!! And she paid extra to have it delivered on my birthday and I received it 5 days later !! Sad Sad Sad how a company can provide such an unethical service! Don't waste your money not to mention the stress of chasing this company for service!
This company is appalling. Leaves hundred dollar packages that need refrigeration on doorstep - no knock, no doorbell ring, no email, no text, no phone call. When you call customer service, your are continually disconnected because of "high volume." At all times of the day. Their "track a package" function doesn't work - so if you are not leaving your house, you believe the package is not yet delivered. Complaints are dismissed out of hand by rude emails, rude individuals when you finally get through - only by selecting the "place new order" button. If you are calling about your existing order, the line is disconnected. A 90-year old in the age of COVID - this is the response I received from Hazelton's: "Are you telling no one in your household goes outside the house at all?" Not to mention that the package found two days after delivery was broken open. The whole episode was completely unprofessional. Never order from here. Note - when you try to write a review on the Hazelton's website - it auto fills with five stars - so it's a scam because people don't read the substance but are guided by the star-rating.

Basket still not delivered a week later, company has gone quiet and I won't be using them again. Be careful if ordering from this site if you need something delivered on a specific day, or if you want good customer service. My previous orders experiences with Hazelton's were decent but this one, well... I ordered a friend's birthday gift and its currently a week late (ordered Feb 16th for hand delivery on Feb 17th and its now Feb 24th). When I reached out to customer service, first their 1-800 number voicemail was full and then I had to deal with two separate customer service reps over chat function. First rep tried to tell me there was a Valentine's day delay and then told basket would be delivered in 4 days because I chose ground delivery WHICH I DID NOT - I have both my order and a shipping confirmation showing I ordered hand delivery service. Second rep told me she reached out to their fulfillment centre and told them to ship ASAP and I'll get notified when it ships - even though I already have shipping confirmation on the 17th. So as of Feb 24th still no delivery, the online tracker is showing picked up by courier but not delivered. I called again on Feb 23rd and I still have not received anything from the company. I understand business make mistakes, stuff happens to delay or side track deliveries and everything can't be perfect but, this would is an amazing example of how not to treat your customers. Do better Hazelton's, well for anyone going forward. You just lost me as a customer.
I sent a basket back in December and paid an additional $34 for an upgraded bottle of wine that was not sent. I sent an email right away (and several ones after) and waited THREE WEEKS before I received a response. Then I received three "stock answer" emails from 3 different people and they all said that I needed to have a picture of the basket to file a claim. I responded to all three and not one of them has responded back. I will never order with them again - if I could give negative stars I would.
Order# H3166398 Ordered gift on 12/19/2020. My sister did not receive the gift on Christmas which the website claimed it could do. I contacted Ruffina at Hazelton's asking when it would arrive. She said it had already shipped. Asked for a shipping confirmation, she said she didn't have one. Okay. By New Years, I contacted Ruffina at Hazelton's again asking to cancel my order. (11 days after ordering). Ruffina at Hazelton's told me she can't because it has already shipped and that is why I received a shipping confirmation. But I never received a shipping confirmation! January 6, (18 days after ordering) I received an email saying that the gift had just shipped. So they lied. * Can't trust their customer service: they will straight up lie to you. They told me it was shipped when it wasn't, and it wasn't shipped until 8 days later. (see screenshots of emails below) * Can't contact their customer service: they give you a phone number to call but the message says you must email. * Can't trust what they tell you on the website: They may guarantee a shipping date but it means nothing to them. They seem to not have anything in stock, and then you must wait until they receive it from the manufacturer for them to ship it (18 days later in my case).
Stay away! Only gave a star because it's required, otherwise it would be zero. Customer service is non existent. All my emails to them bounced. Delivery took over 4 weeks. The wine arrived frozen! No communication from them to date. No acknowledgement to the terrible service they've provided, completely contradicts the service they claim to provide. They've turned their comments off on social media..which is very telling but continue to post. Do not spend your money here. I wish I'd read the reviews before making a purchase.
The order arrived 6 days late and arrived AFTER valentine's on 19th February AND was NOT what I ordered. Their delivery was a week late making me miss an important event and the hamper . I emailed and no answers to any of my emails. When the package arrived, what they sent was NOT at all what I ordered. I had ordered a basket of chocolate covered strawberries with a custom balloon, but they sent 4 small bars of chocolate instead and no balloons , of much lower value, without informing me and lesser than the cost of $61 usd I paid ! I called their number but no one ever picked up so I left voice mail . I then filled a complaint with better business bureau which prompted them to finally reply to me but they took no responsibility for any of this.
