Appalling company

Appalling company. Ordered a ‘housewarming’ gift (containing perishable goods) from the UK for my son and his family which was delivered five days BEFORE they move into their first home in Canada. Can’t get any sensible response from the company. I am a pensioner and the $168 I spent represents a lot of money to me. So very angry and upset that I’ve been SCAMMED in this way.

Bait and switch! Not ok!

My gorgeous friend, bless her, ordered me a gift basket and flowers for my birthday. They ended up baiting and switching the goods. They also, sent everything in a disarray including smashed flowers. Disgusting they are getting away with this. Update: the company has sent a new basket and items which still weren’t what she ordered and flowers in better condition so they tried, so I have to give them a little credit for trying to make things right. This is why they have been boosted to 2-stars

The reviews on their website are lies they filter…

These reviews are lies they filter them. Also, it was my birthday and my friends sent an expensive basket and it was suppose to come with a tea pot but they substituted it with chocolate which was not the same price. Also, the chocolate was stale and had bumps and crust on it. Also my sister sent me a very expensive 3 part gift and the chocolates were also stale, the box with macaroons were not as shown. Also my sister paid extra money for a singing balloon and they just sent a regular one while charging her extra for the singing balloon. When both called to complain they said that on checking out you agreed to replace if they have product supply issues. The thing is they replaced the valuable stuff for less money and the food was stale. So they charge you extra for things and then don't deliver it and say it is a product supply issue. So they are scamming and rippling off people by charging you money and not giving you what you paid for. Shame on them. Also the reviews on their website are lies as it says it has to be reviewed by admin before it is posted. Therefore the bad reviews are not posted. They did not post mine that I sent in.

Very unhappy with my order

Very unhappy with my order. They're "substitution" was crap - Ordered the beer tasting flight, but received four cheap dollar store pint glasses on a square cutting board, that they barely fit on. There were supposed to be the 4 different types of glasses for tasting various brews with a specific flight board. Super disappointed and their response when I expressed my disappointment was that they always substitute items. They are also still promoting the "beer tasting basket" despite knowing they can't fulfill the order.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

I ordered a beautiful basket for my friends 60th who lives in USA, I’m in NZ. I stupidly did not read the reviews as it looked like a reputable website. However, what I ordered and what arrive was completely different! Expensive lesson learnt, ALWAYS read customer reviews!! 😡

I'd give them minus stars if I could

I'd give them minus stars if it was possible - haven't run into such outrageous scammers in a while. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE. I ordered ~$300 gift basket for my dad for his birthday with 2 expensive wines, a bottle of liquor, 2 types of cheese and additional food items, paid extra for quick delivery. Oh and a greeting card. What ended up being delivered (to the neighbors, not to my parents, without even contacting or telling anyone though there was a contact phone number) was 1 bottle of cheap wine, 1 type of cheese and some additional food items. There was a $163 discrepancy between what I paid and what was delivered. Tried calling the customer support number - busy signal. Tried their chat - sent photos of the package, etc., after 30 minutes type-screaming and threatening legal action they had the audacity to offer "15% refund on the wine". After continuing to type-scream and threaten legal action and also write furious emails in parallel to their support, I was told the liquor was sent separately (?!) and I would be refunded for the rest that was missing. Remains to be seen if any of that actually materialises

Scam of a firm

Scam of a firm. This firm has many websites that all offer the same bogus gifts, they have terrible customer service and once they have your money they will ignore you. They are a terrible company at best and a full on scam at worst. - This firm vets the reviews it allows on its own site and does not allow any reviews that are not complementary, I would be shocked if they hadn't used fake reviews to give themselves positive feedback.

DO NOT use this company

DO NOT use this company! You will not get what you ordered and it will be a cheap basket rather than what you paid for. I order the wooden toolbox for my Dad and he just got cheap crap. I emailed the company to ask about it and they sent back a computer generated email about how I accepted T&C’s which say you may not get ‘anything’ you ordered! Haha! What a joke! Please don’t think you will get the pretty picture you see on the website, because you won’t. Shop elsewhere people!

Thanks to the pandemic I haven’t seen…

Thanks to the pandemic I haven’t seen my dad in 2 years. I tried to send him a gift basket, but the delivery driver didn’t show up in daylight hours, or knock. My dad checked the door before bed, and when he checked again in the morning he found a basket of disgusting spoiled fruit. Horrible experience. Also, they invite reviews on their own site, but hide the bad ones. Shameful.

Extremely disappointed, all custom items substituted, cheese spoiled, customer service appalling

I am extremely disappointed and stressed out by my recent order from Hazelton's. Ordered a $200 custom basket on Wednesday for my sister's birthday to be delivered to Oakville Friday - two days notice. Spent over an hour choosing the custom items. Got an email at 8:52 am Friday saying my order has been shipped. Basket did not arrive Friday even though "We deliver on the day you picked!" Tried to find out where it was. I was given excuses of Covid delays and my fault for choosing that delivery method. Toronto to Oakville what other method could I have chosen? Finally arrived at 4 pm Saturday. Every item I custom chose was substituted for cheaper items. Instead of five special gourmet cheeses with specific prices from $10 to $14.90 she got 5 other regular cheeses and to top it off they were MELTED and SPOILED from sitting in a vehicle for a day and a half. Instead of the $50 beautiful parkay cheese board I chose, she got a plain wood plank board. The basket was different too. Entirely different gift than I ordered. No help from Manoj in customer service. No apology, no refund for the spoiled cheeses or any attempt to deliver the items I actually ordered. All she gave me was a 50% refund on the cutting board. Worst thing is at was a gift and now I have to replace it. How would you like to get spoiled cheese as a gift?? I thought it was going to be a wonderful gift and instead I spent many hours arguing to deaf ears and getting extremely stressed out. How could a company treat their customer so poorly and get away with false advertising?

Do not order from this company

Placed an online order for chocolate covered strawberries, they were never delivered and the company has taken no responsibility, and refuses to issue a refund. Their agents are rude and unhelpful. Do not order from this company.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company. This is a scam. They do not give you want you pay for. Upgraded wines are not substituted in the gift basket. They just take your money. No customer service to follow up. This company should not be able to operate, so many complaints and horror stories.

I expected so much more from an expensive basket…

I expected so much more from a recent purchase I made with Hazeltons. I am seriously disappointed with the gift basket I ordered below – this was my first (and most likely last) experience with Hazelton’s for the following reasons: 1. I ordered a week prior to my daughter’s birthday with a request date of April 24th – she received it on April 26th. If you can’t get delivery dates right for what are usually celebrations with gift baskets then you should stipulate that BEFORE the purchase. 2. I ordered a New York Style Plain Cheesecake and she got cheesecake brownies (she can’t eat chocolate). 3. She received 2 types of chocolate (I didn’t order because she can’t eat chocolate). 4. I paid for a Wooden Bed Tray and she got a basket (this was the reason I ordered the basket in the first place). Terribly disappointing for so many reasons – I wasted a lot of time putting together what I thought was perfect for her. Can’t believe I spent over $100 on something that she can’t even use half of it and you somehow felt okay to replace items with other stuff she can’t even eat.

Caution before Mother's Day

Caution before Mother's Day - Friday December 11, 2020, I received a gift basket that was sent from family in Calgary. Although it was a lovely basket replete with very tasty product, it did arrive damaged. The tin included was bent and several boxes were squashed. Given that the basket was protected by many styrofoam "peanuts", this is a bit surprising. As this was meant to be a kosher gift basket, I am also concerned with the Gouda cheese that I received. This cheese contains animal rennet which is in no way kosher. A cheese like the Bellavitano that is made with vegetarian culture, which was included in the basket, was a wise choice. I left messages and sent an email throughout December to report the above and have not heard from anyone from Hazelton's and it is now April 2021. The promise for a response is 24 to 48 hours. My family sent this gift to me with very good intentions and trusted that the gift would be of highest quality. Hazelton in effect represented my family. Hazelton's execution was less than acceptable.

False advertising and terrible customer service

The order received was nothing close to what was ordered! Aside from the fact that the THREE BOTTLES OF IMPORTED WINE WERE MISSING, none of the other items matched the order placed nor would be considered high quality nor gourmet. I paid extra for rare Bellavitano Balsamic / Pennington’s Carmelized Onion Cheese, truffle chocolates and tapenade... instead Kraft cheese, Toblerone and Doritos dip were delivered! I had also paid extra for all this to be delivered on a cheese board with knives... instead it was delivered in a cardboard box draped in Christmas decorations... in the middle of April! When I gave Hazelton's the opportunity to rectify the situation they simply said substitutions were covered by their legal terms and conditions. NO acknowledgement of the missing bottles of wine, which weren't substituted, no offer to compensate, replace or refund. All other communication went unanswered. Horrible customer service. I spent USD205 for items worth USD20 that could’ve been purchased anywhere. Terrible.

Highly Disappointed.

Highly Disappointed. I have used this company a few times and have not been satisfied as either the delivery was two to three weeks late or the items were received in very poor conditions. Attempts to resolve this with their customer service was frustrating. I would advise against using the services of this company. I wish I could post pictures on this site to provide solid examples.

THIS IS A SCAM !!!

THIS IS A SCAM !!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM HAZELTON'S!!! My sister gifted me the $79 "Ultimate Guinness Lover Gift Crate” from one of their companies called BroCrates.com. The gift is advertised to include 6 beers and 4 Guinness-branded items in a nice wooden crate, including a Guinness-branded glass & pewter stein, growler, playing cards, and cork coasters. Instead, the box contained the beer, along with a BROKEN TIN BUCKET (no wooden crate), NO PLAYING CARDS, NO STEIN, AND NO GROWLER! As a "substitute" item they're claiming was "of equal or higher value", they included two tiny (6oz) generic glass COFFEE mugs that aren't suitable for beer, with no Guinness branding whatsoever. One of the two coffee mugs was shattered, and there was glass covering the beer bottles. She also opted for the "gourmet" food option for an additional $20, choosing pretzels, nuts, and mustards. Instead, we got a single 1.25oz pouch of turkey jerky ! Reached out to the company about the missing and broken items, and was denied any resolution. I followed up via phone and email, and have yet to receive any reply. I will now go out of my way to get my sister's money back and help make sure other consumers don't get scammed like me did. I will also report them to the consumer protection agencies, and am now investigating legal action.

horrible customer service.

horrible customer service. I ordered a sophisticated gift basket which contained a beautiful decanter and whiskey glasses. We are so embarrassed at what our important client received, two jam jars as "glasses" nachos and salsa. Product substitution should be of similar value and quality. we will not be ordering from this company again. You've lost a lot of business from our company!
