While some customers appreciate the concept of gift baskets and the selection available, the majority report significant issues with service and product quality. Many people experience late deliveries, with orders arriving well past the promised dates, leading to frustration and disappointment. Reviewers frequently mention receiving incorrect or substituted items that do not match their original orders, often of lower quality. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

I placed an order on 19th November 2020 for a gift basket delivery on Christmas Eve. It cost, with all the extras we added, over $140. It arrived several days late and was a mess. The main part of the basket was a ‘rock garden’ which obviously wasn’t packaged properly and the soil had contaminated all the food items which had to be thrown away. Other items which were supposed to be included were missing. I have had one standard reply to my several emails which advised me they weren’t responsible for shipping perishable food items. I have tried phoning to no avail. Atrocious company and customer service - avoid at all costs!

NOT USE

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER do business with this company. This is spam! My order was never delivered and no refunds are given. I have no idea who gave this company 5 stars - ridiculous; probably fictional.

if I could get away with zero stars I…

if I could get away with zero stars I would! I sure wish I had seen this website prior to ordering from Hazelton ‘s. I placed my order on December 20, and received an immediate confirmation email as well as the money being taken out of my credit card right away. When I read through the confirmation email at the very end there is a warning about delivery being delayed if orders were not received before December 16. Again this was after I placed the order and they took my money. However the confirmation email also stated that the delivery would arrive within 4 to 7 days. Two weeks later I emailed the company because as everyone who has written a review here knows, you cannot get through to a live person, and asked about a refund because now it was well past the seven days. Funny how suddenly they were able to get in touch with me right away. In the email they stated that I would not be getting a refund because that was their policy. I again responded asking when delivery would be. A week later I was promised that it would be delivered as soon as possible and once again the company apologized for the inconvenience. I responded requesting a number where I could speak to a live person. Two weeks later I received another email telling me that my order had been prepared but it was not retrieved as yet by the courier. Almost a week after that I again emailed stating that the order was now five weeks late and I was getting quite a bit impatient. Four days later, another email from their representative, who informed me that my order was damaged in transit. At this point it was now six weeks late and again I requested a refund. Once again my refund was refused. Two weeks ago I asked for a number or email for someone who’s actually in charge and I have had no response. This was a $250 basket for my daughter-in-law.To make matters worse, I made the mistake again, not realizing that Bloom company was affiliated. Apparently there are a few companies under the same ownership umbrella. This time the order was for a coworker, and once again without my realizing it was the same company just a different name, I have been burned. Thank goodness this time, once I received the confirmation email that stated delivery delays, I realized there would be no delivery and ordered from a reputable company. Unfortunately, I will now be battling with both to get a refund. DO NOT ORDER from here or any of their companies!

Hazelton's and Yorville's Bad service.

Hazelton's and Yorville's are the same company under the same roof with 2 different websites for the same owner: The Gift Group. I made the mistake of ordering without checking the reviews. I placed my orfer on December 11th and i was assured delivery before December 24th. My Christmas gift was delivered on February 11th. Almost 2 months late. I called and emailed many many times to no avail. Avoid at all costs. Rated F on the BBB website for both accompanies with hundreds of complaints even a CBC article on them.

SCAM!

NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I ordered a basket which should have included beer, a soft toy and a beer glass. The glass was never sent and the beer and the soft toy were the incorrect items which apparently were "substituted". Both items would have cost them $5....but charged me a ridiculous amount of $55....for some beers and a cheap toy! My boyfriend did not appreciate the pink elephant which arrived at his door. I also paid extra for him to receive it on Valentine's day...and it was late. The customer service is not helpful and keeps sending me the same email about their substitution policy. Wish I read the reviews first!

Horrible experience

If you make a purchase from this company, expect a far inferior product to be delivered and terrible customer service. We ordered a basket of chocolate covered chocolates for around $70 and were given a bag of plain strawberries and a bar of chocolate, it's worth no more than $13. I emailed multiple times to get a refund or replacement. 11 days later, I received an email that basically said "tough" claiming that by making a purchase I agree to substitutions and give up my right for a refund. They are definitely not interested in my repeat business.

The worst experience

The worst experience! Do not order from them! They replace items for cheap ones. I ordered a cheese and wine basket with a cheese board and knifes. They replaced the cheeses with olives and mustard. So my daughter received a cheese board and knifes with no cheese! They don’t deserve not even 1 star. Worst customer service.

-5/5 this is a scam spare yourself

Any hazelton affiliate if youre reading this, please shut down and spare these poor people who just wanted to make someones day this misery. -5/5. Worst customer service experience. I never got a reply when i was following up on the delayed package. 4 days late. None of the items were correct. I ordered a champagne cheese artisan box with cheese board and knives, 2 cheeses, dark chocolate, and bunch of snacks. You know what they gave me?! A BUNCH OF COOKIES, A BOX OF TEA (MY PARTNER DOESNT EVEN DRINK TEA), AND A SACHET OF CHOCO MIX (NOT EVEN A BOX OR A JAR YOU CHEAP SCAM!!) ALL OF WHICH I COULDVE GOTTEN FOR $30. I paid $200+ for everything. It was supposed to be a first anniversary gift, oh what a great way to proclaim your love with $5 cookies!

$120 for a bottle of Crystal Skull…

$120 for a bottle of Crystal Skull Vodka that retails for an average of $55 in Canada, are you kidding me? Egregious markup and, obviously, horrible reviews all around. 500+ people gave them a 1 out of 5 stars, how are they still in business?

Unacceptable substitutions and horrible customer service.

My mother ordered a gift from Hazelton’s to be sent to me as a gift for the arrival of my newborn. She spent almost $400 on this gift, and almost none of the items were correct.  First of all, she ordered the "Baby Girl Celebration Basket" - of all the advertised items included in this specific basket, only 3 of the items were correct. All of the others were supplemented with something else not as advertised. The product details clearly list every single branded item that is to be included, and nowhere on this page does it say it will be replaced by something else. We understand that there may be shortages due to covid, but there is absolutely no reason to not notify a paying customer of any changes such as this.  Secondly, and most upsetting, she added on a variety of items, including customized embroidery, a Sophie the giraffe toy, and a singing balloon. We did not receive any of this. Instead, we received a bunch of random food products, such as chips, candy and chocolate. There is NO way that these food products make up the same amount that she paid additional to this, nor did she want to send me random food items. She was sending a gift to a newborn baby... why on earth would Hazelton’s assume that replacing baby items with food items is what the customer wants? Although upsetting because my mom expected the items as displayed/described in the Baby Girl Celebration gift basket, I understand that the items included in the basket may need to be substituted and that you reserve the right to do so. However all the add-ons and upgrades she spent WELL over the original price for (FYI this basket was only $185.99 and she spent almost $400) are not acceptable at all. She wanted customized embroidered items and instead we received snacks. If anything, she should have been contacted regarding this specifically as if she would have known she likely would have cancelled the order or removed the items that were unavailable. This is completely unacceptable and my mom is incredibly angered by this and the fact she wasted almost $400 on things she did not want to gift to my baby.  This is completely unacceptable and should be refunded immediately. Instead, we keep receiving a copy and pasted response from the website regarding substitutions. It is absolutely ridiculous. This also is not the first poor experience she’s had with an order. You can expect us to never order from here again.

Worst company ever - recovered & updated review

Do NOT purchase anything from this company. I ordered 2 gift baskets Dec. 22, 2020 in the a.m. The first I paid for expedited freight to ship same day; the other normal freight for next day delivery (as per the invoice). The items were not delivered per the invoice, not even close unless you think delivery January 21st and 22nd 2021 a month late is close. I called and emailed several times (I mean several) for updates and to cancel the orders (I have the full history recorded) no response except for a standard fine print response that they do not guarantee delivery during these busy times (BS). This company is not up front and is totally a fraud. UPDATE: Hazelton's (or Baskets another name this company goes by) just posted a FULL refund to my credit card a month after I filled a dispute claim with my credit card company. Thank you. This all could have been averted if my orders had been cancelled Jan. 5, 2021 as requested.

HazelCons

I'm writing this review after PayPal took "valid delivery tracking" from them saying my Christmas basket for a friend in Alberta had been delivered, and denied my claim against the company. I submitted all the evidence I had to the contrary, but I'm not willing to put any more time into escalating the issue for the amount of money I'd get back; it's not worth the stress or my precious time on this planet that these guys unfortunately coexist upon. I will just add to the deluge of bad reviews these slimeballs are rightfully getting. Don't buy from them, they're liars and they're scammers. They tried to get me to pay an extra fee for them to "reattempt" the delivery they never fulfilled. I don't think so! And don't take the chance and buy with PayPal thinking you'll get any support from them when this company takes your money and doesn't supply goods.

If I could give a minus star for this…

If I could give a minus star for this company I would. Hazelton’s is the worst. As Valentine’s Day is approaching please don’t purchase from this company. Buyers beware don’t purchase from this company. A colleague was leaving our department at work and we decided to order a few items from Hazelton’s (champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, orchid and a balloon). What a mistake. The items were ordered on December 16, 2020 at noon, which is before the cut off date for on time Christmas delivery. The item was supposed to arrive at the recipient’s home the next day, of course it did not. After countless emails and phone calls I finally got an email on Christmas Day saying that a shipping label was created on December 17, 2020. The package was not shipped by Canpar until December 29, 2020. The recipient didn’t receive the order until January 4th and some of the items were missing. We spent $200 and the order was delivered extremely late. As customer service is lacking we purchased something else from another retailer to gift to recipient so money lost all around. Please don’t purchase from Hazelton’s. They product sucks, it’s not what it looks like on their website and the customer service has to be the worst I have ever experienced. Don’t waste you time or money ordering from this company. Wish I read the reviews prior to ordering.

Hazelton's-0 stars

Hazelton's-0 stars Ordered a gift basket from their very slick website for my brother's 50th birthday. ( an executive putting set with a bottle of upgraded vodka and balloons). He received a basket of hot chocolate and a few other items with a card inside intended for someone else. There was an address and phone number inside for someone else. They have been impossible to contact responding only with intermittent e-mails saying that they can substitute what ever they feel like! BUYER BEWARE!!! FRADULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES!!!

DO NOT BUY anything from this company.

Garbage company, scam scam scam

What can I say, very unhelpful, 5 weeks later, and customer service can't tell me where my package is. PayPal dispute currently open. Yet, I received an email asking how my package is, and can I review it. *Update* I have just received a refund from PayPal. Ordered on the 22nd Dec '20, refunded on the 18th Feb '21. Once again, avoid these shysters, I wish Google would take them off the search results.

HAZLETON'S IS FRAUDULENT

HAZLETON'S IS FRAUDULENT. THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY FOR AN 'UPGRADE' AND THEN JUST SEND THE ORIGINAL ITEM WORTH 1/4 THE VALUE. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. THEY ARE CRIMINALS. I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH. THERE ARE SO MANY HONEST COMPANIES OUT THERE THAT NEED OUR SUPPORT-PLEASE USE THEM INSTEAD! After seeing Hazleton's ratings on Trust Pilot- combined with my own experience- I can't believe that they are even allowed to operate. I only wish I had checked Trust Pilot before using them. Everything everyone has said is true. In short- I ordered a gift basket for my aunt for her 80th birthday. The basic basket costs US$53.99. I PAID AN ADDITIONAL US$144.97 TO UPGRADE TO MOET CHAMPAGNE, A BOUQUET OF FLOWERS AND A VASE. HOWEVER, MY AUNT DID NOT RECEIVE ANY OF THE UPGRADES. Since I live in the UK and my aunt is in the US, normally I would have never known-and I guarantee that is what they are expecting. Hazleton's takes full advantage of the distance and they keep the extra money. First, the delivery was 10 days late-I assumed this was COVID and not the company. I then found out that my aunt only received the very basic basket (with broken items as well). I tried at least five times to discuss this with Hazleton's-via email and phone calls. They did not respond. It was only after I filed a dispute via PayPal that Hazleton's was even bothered to email me (automated) to ask for evidence. Initially my aunt couldn't sent a photo (she is 80 and kept having trouble with her computer). My cousin was finally able to go to my aunt's and reinstall her software just to send a photo to prove that she in fact did not receive any of the upgrades-just cheap champagne, some chocolates, a glass and a broken tray for US$198!!! After continuously ignoring me and sending me automated so called 'customer service' responses, today (one and 1/2 months later) Hazleton's has decided that they will honour me with a credit of $15.98. They need to further investigate the flowers (which cost $69.99 extra). However, they claim that the cheap champagne that they actually sent was an equal substitute for the Moet. This whole experience, which was meant to be a nice gesture for my aunt, turned into a mini-nightmare and a complete waste of time and energy. With COVID everything is worse. I only found out by chance-normally I would have never checked. THEY CLAIM COVID IS THE REASON THAT THEY CAN'T RESPOND IN A TIMELY FASHION-YET THEY TOOK MY MONEY THE SAME DAY THAT I ORDERED THE GIFT BASKET.

scammy business I tried to cancel my order within the first 3 minutes of accidently purchasing a basket (i wanted to see how much shipping was and when it would arrive). I called the number and only received voicemail until i hit line 1 for purchasing a new basket) and the guy i spoke to, quinton said no one else worked there except him. refused to send me to anyone else. and would not assist in cancelling my order with no reason given what so ever. now i am cancelling my visa. DEEPLY UPSETTING AND STRESSFUL

Like everyone else here, the basket about 3 weeks late without communication, and it belonged to someone else. I spent over $90 on what I thought were premium goods (moet champagne, artisan cheeses, chocolates), and the goods which arrived were literally from budget supermarkets (Aldi brand goods), some with red reduced stickers, and EXPIRED! They have given me NO meaningful communication about getting this resolved, although they have been last-minute responding to Paypal about my claims. Unfortunately, Paypal told me my options are to ask my family member to return the goods (at my cost!) or ask for a partial refund instead (which the company can reject, anyway). What this company is doing is FRAUDULENT and should be treated as such by paypal, credit card providers, etc.
