Do not buy anything from this company.

I ordered a gift basket for Christmas. I paid $20 for expedited delivery because the web site warned of possible delivery “delays”. It arrived Jan 26. My story is pretty much the same as everyone else’s in trying to reach anyone to complain. I finally got a response from the delivery service. When I told them I didn’t want to talk to the delivery service but rather to Hazelton’s I was told “this is Hazelton’s”. So, Hazelton’s does the delivery too. This company is obviously a rip off & needs to be shut down. File complaints to wherever you saw it advertised.

Bad company, doesn’t care about their customers

Do not shop here! I ordered an item which arrived a full month later than expected. In that time I called the company over 10 times, emailed, sent Facebook messages and tweets and got no response. I then asked to do a chargeback with my card company because it had been over 3 weeks without any response. Funny enough, they responded disputing the chargeback but still never got back to me. Expect your items to not arrive and to never hear back from this company.

Very poor customer service

Unfortunately there is not an option for 0 stars. In fact for this company there should be a minus option! Dreadful service, and I can only repeat the comments made by previous reviewers. I do not recommend this company at all! Poor service, late delivery with the contents not as requested. The only response I received to my complaint was an e mail requesting I repeat my order number and send photos, which I did. Weeks later...still no response. Interestingly when I first found this company I sent an e mail asking whether they could accept an order from the U.K. to be delivered to Vancouver BC...there was an instant response to that email. Strongest advice, do not use this company.

Never Arrived, No One Replied to My Emails

Ordered on Dec 20, 2020 (fully understanding that it would arrive late, Re: pandemic). Heard nothing from our Mother whether it arrived, on Jan 11, 2021, I emailed the company: they auto-responded with, "An agent has been assigned to your ticket and will get back to you as quickly as possible." No one got back to us, so I emailed them again on Jan 29, 2021: no reply. THEN they had the nerve to email me that "7 days ago we fulfilled your order of 1 x Tropical Spa Gift Set from our store HAZELTON'S | Canada."––We just spoke with our Mother, the basket has STILL not arrived. I'm calling this company out as a scam: for starters, ANY legitimate business would respond to a paying customer sooner than 2 weeks. Just hoping we can get our money back at this point–that's going to be very hard, as their phone line is't accepting any customer service discussions, not to mention they're clearly not responding by email. Dear First-Time-Basket-Buyers who frequent this company's page: Please just stay away. I'm so sincerely disappointed in this company, it's only fair at this point to call them a scam. Buyer beware.

Cheese of the month club

Ordered a cheese of the month club to be delivered to Edmonton for 12 months. The first was delivered, but the second was not. I contacted them and complained. They countered that it was "successfully delivered." It does not bode well for the the remaining 10 shipments. Hopefully, my credit card company can stop payments. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HAZELTON'S.

ALWAYS READ REVIEWS FIRST

I did not know this $200 basket would be shipped by ground from Toronto to Edmonton, when I saw "hazelton's/ edmonton-gift-baskets-alberta-Hazelton’s“ on the website, I assumed there was a branch in Edmonton. I especially did not expect them to be shipping $200 worth of food (fruit, cheese and wine) for 5 days by truck in temperatures in the -25 °C range! The fruit was unacceptable, I ordered grapes, and strawberries as well as apples, I received 5 frozen apples, no grapes or strawberrries! There should have been a discussion when major omissions or substitutions were made. Does this mean the wine was frozen as well? Was the cheese frozen too? The 6 varieties of cheeses were specially chosen after researching each cheese. All of the cheeses offered by the website. Only two types of cheese were delivered. They were Castello Brie (125 g) and a Castello Camembert (125 g), I didn’t order a camembert. I did not order any meat, My aunt can’t eat meat, so the meat that was sent is useless. Gourmet to them means bushetta, they sent 5 bottles of bruschetta - probably froze too! Lesson - ALWAYS READ REVIEWS FIRST

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

SENT A BASKET TO MY FATHER FOR HIS 75TH BIRTHDAY, WHICH I UPGRADED TO INCLUDE 2 BOTTLES OF MOËT AND AN ORCHID AND SOME NUTS - WAS MEANT TO COME WITH EXOTIC FRUIT. INSTEAD THEY SENT 3 ROTTEN BANANAS, 2 ROTTEN KIWIS AND 2 ROTTEN LIMES AND ONE BOTTLE OF SPARKLING WINE - AND TOOK $327 FROM ME FOR THE PRIVILEDGE. NO ONE ANSWERS THEIR PHONE LINE AND THEN ONE WEEK LATER GET A GENERIC LIKE EMAIL SAYING THAT THEY DON'T PROVIDE REFUNDS AND THAT THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO SUBSTITUTE!!! SUBSTITUTE???? FOR ROTTEN FRUIT? AND WHAT ABOUT ALL OF THE OTHER STUFF THAT I PAID FOR THAT THEY NEGLECTED TO INCLUDE? I HAVE OPENED A CASE WITH AMEX AND ADVISE ALL OF YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM!!!!!

This is a horrible company

This is a horrible company - please avoid. I ordered the Under the Christmas Tree Champagne Gift Basket. The basket had 13 items in the product description. The basket cost $101.99. What my mom received - a bottle of cheap wine and a pack of 4$ cookies. Deplorable! In email correspondence, they stated this is in accordance with there substitution policy. No shame. This company is committing fraud and obviously consistent with all similar reviews.

“The Worst”

Ordered product on the 23rd of December knowing it may be a couple of days at worst. You know what it never arrived at all over a month later. Tried contacting and had no service via phone and emails were form letters not even addressing my issue. Money was collected on my credit card though. Last email from”Oscar” said no refund. This company is a thief. Stay Away!

Total scum company

Ordered a gift basket on December 23rd. Until January 19, the order was not executed. It is impossible to contact by phone and mail. I contacted US customer service for help. Only after that the order was fulfilled. Delivered on January 26th. The composition of the basket was replaced with cheap products. Some positions were not put at all.

What a rip off!!!

What a rip off!!! I ordered a gift basket for a client to be delivered by Christmas, even paid extra for the delivery, and it was set to be delivered on January 26th. I called after Christmas knowing that the package was not delivered to my clients and they never once returned my call or email about the parcel. Today I receive an email from "Sam" basically stating that there is no refunds. Save your time, money, and just order from anyone else. This company is incompetent....

Another bad review

Similar to other reviews. Ordered from the company an expensive Christmas hamper. Basket turned up late and food was spoilt. Cannot get a hold of customer service- phones have been diverted to a recording since Christmas and they have not replied to multiple emails. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Not sure how they haven't been sued

Worst customer service and gift experience I've ever had in my life. I paid for a 3-month subscription to their cheese of the month club, only for it to come a month late and for them to send all of the cheeses I ordered for 3 months in one month. I tried getting in contact with Hazelton's for over a month (phone calls, emails, and live chat) and absolutely nobody got back to me. To add insult to injury, they didn't send the cheeses I ordered rather some generic cheeses that I can get at the grocery store for less money. DO NOT waste your money on this scam of a store.

Rip off company!!!

I wish I searched and read these reviews before I wasted my money ordering with this company!!! I ordered a bouquet of fruit cut into flower shapes and they sent cheap fruit in bags. I ordered a bouquet of fruit in a white metal container that says “Flowers & Garden” on it. They sent the bags of fruit in a cheap plain silver bucket. I ordered “It’s Your Day - Birthday Cake Balloon 18” and they sent a 10” round balloon with magic hands on it. Keep in mind this was a birthday gift for an 70yr old woman, not a ten yr old boy! I specified a delivery date of January 21st and it was delivered January 20th. I did not get what I ordered I requested a refund and they replied that it has been “denied”. They claim they had the right to substitute. To me that is total false advertising! To show pictures and give descriptions and then send something completely different! Terrible, terrible customer service!!! I could not and still cannot get through to them on the phone. I tried their live chat and they never responded.

On time, but substitutes

On the good side, the basket arrived on the promised day, with the picnic basket itself and wine as ordered. All other products were substitutes or not provided. Jelly beans, hot chocolate, gummy bears, and tortilla chips replaced the "gourmet" items. We tried to cancel the day after ordering, but the email box was full and phone calls weren't returned. Then we contacted Visa's fraud department, who said you must wait to see what you get. Maybe that's why it did arrive on time.

Avoid this flaming piece of garbage

I was first attracted by Hazelton's website and decided to place an order for family members out in New Brunswick. I placed the order on December 19, 2020 and I was told that the delivery would arrive by the 24th. However, a few WEEKS passed and the package never arrived. I couldn't call them because there is no one on the other end of their Support telephone number. One month later, the recipient received it (Jan 19th, 2021) and the basket was missing items (for example, an entire bottle of wine was missing). Again, a call to their support team led to an automated, pre-recorded message. Please, DO NOT order from here if you care about the gifts you want your recipients to receive. Make sure to do your research, especially given that these gifts are not cheap. Fool me once, shame on you. Good thing there won't be a fool me twice. A business shouldn't be allowed to run this way. If you're going to trick people into buying products that will end up missing / delivered late, at least offer them support.

We ordered a gift basket for my client- Never got delivered

We ordered a gift basket for my client. First they didn't mention anything. When we realized that the gift basket never been delivered, we contacted them and they mentioned that the gift basket never been sent on the first place. We asked them to send again. it was a Christmas Gift for my client. Today is 25th Of January ... After a Month also nothing happened. No one should use this website to deliver any gift.... So Disappointed... 1/2 star or 1/4th star or no star at all

Worst experience EVER!

Worst experience EVER! I ordered a $160 Basket; a large seagrass basket with handles, filled with pears, cholocate covered strawberries, biscotti, bruschetta, crackers, Stilton cheese, and Rose wine - all to be delivered on 1/14/21. What my mother received on 1/21/21 (a week late) was a cheap wicker basket filled with 3 apples, 2 oranges, a bottle of Rose and mini sample size jars of pimento spread and olive spread, and a box of crackers that expires in 7 weeks. They don't take calls, they don't answer emails. I had to complain to American Express and challenge the charge.
