Love the therapists....hate the billing…

Love the therapists....hate the billing issues. constantly being billed and no clue which doc or service is being billed for and then all of a sudden I have a missed appointment fee of $100! the therapist said she would waive it, someone from Lifestance said they noticed the mistake and would waive the fee and then they auto charged anyway...now it is being sent back to billing... nobody answers and replies to emails take weeks and typically do not completely address the question. my accounts are messed up and spread over 3 different email addresses and nobody know how to fix it... and yet they survive as a business running like this.

Therapist is awesome, but office/billing is the WORST I've ever had.

My therapist with Life stance is wonderful! She gets 5 stars, definitely. However, the office support is the absolute WORST that I've ever encountered. MUCH worse than trying to get through to the IRS or some other agency. I've spent hours on hold trying to get through to them. It first started when they placed me with an out of network therapist. They kept sending me bills and taking additional $$ out of my checking account. I spent hours trying to get through to their billing department without any luck. My therapist finally found out that I was being charged extra as she was out of network for my insurance. My therapist is awesome, so I decided to absorb the extra cost. Then, I found out on Wednesday that I would have to work on Friday, so I immediately tried to call that morning to provide 48 hours notice to cancel my appointment. I was on hold for HOURS and still didn't get through. I finally sent my therapist an email advising that I couldn't make my appointment. I tried to call their office again on Thursday morning and was still on hold for over an hour. I finally got the option to leave a voice mail and right at the end of the message someone picked up the phone. I explained the situation and she informed me that I would be charged a $75 fee for "late canceling" which is basically less than 48 hours before your appointment. I told her that I tried to call them on Wednesday, but couldn't get through and was on hold for HOURS. She didn't care. I was nearly in tears by the end of the call. I sent my therapist another email advising that she's wonderful, but I don't think I can continue dealing with her office. The amount of frustration and stress that I experience whenever I have to deal with them more than negates any positive effects that I get from my therapy appointments.

What went wrong is is I did everything I could to try to be cool cooperative and try to be positive and she didn't care if I was better or not I kept telling her I know what works and she never would

What went wrong was that I did everything I was supposed to do I tried everything I could and when I would tell her her medication Deborah McKee when I would tell her the medication is garbage she was ready to just discharge me from medication even though I said I was suicidal she because I wouldn't cuz I was taking her medicine she needs to be fired immediately she's going to kill somebody time has passed her by she does not belong as anybody to give anybody experience they're advice.... You tell somebody your suicidal and all her crap and she doesn't do anything drugs don't work and she's like okay well I'll just just charge you from the program and you can go score some smack and jump off a building or shoot yourself in head that's okay with Deborah. If you're suicidal she'll just discharge you and hope you kill yourself. My only regret is that the mob isn't still around so good people could have something done about this because she needs to be fired immediately she is too old to understand the world. I would rather actually talk to somebody at the top or you know maybe even the police because I believe she tried to kill me... I've already retained a returning attorney like something has to be done with this I have to do this so I can save someone else's life these people are dumber than the people I know and I went to public schools

Billing department is terrible

Billing department is terrible! You can never get in touch with anyone. I've spent HOURS on hold without getting through. They don't respond to emails either. And what billing department closes at 3:00 pm every day? Lifestance claims they have not received payment from my insurance company for visits dating as far back as Jan 2023 when in fact my insurance company has sent them twice! It's ridiculous and UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Black Therapists Matter!

I first reached out to LifeStance in the winter when I felt ready after transitioning from my former therapist at a different organization. The wait was 2-3 weeks and then I was seen by the therapist of my choice (I did my research before reaching out to them). I’ve now been seeing her for almost 6 months. My therapist, ML, has been doing an amazing job! She listens and provides me with multimodal supports and resources. She is clear with her suggestions and helps me recognize different perspectives. She is also very consistent and has never moved or missed a session. Overall, LifeStance has been a great organization to partner with. Their staff is always so nice and respectful. No complaints !

I called last Friday to try and get…

I called last Friday to try and get ahold of billing. I was on hold for 3 hours! I hung up after with no answer. I was able to clean my kitchen, do laundry take a shower and get ready while still being on hold. There is literally no one there! My husband tried in his phone as well and he hung up after an hour and a half. How is this acceptable? We’ve been battling this bill with our insurance company due to the incompetent therapist billing for a full session for 3 min call for my daughter. Seriously someone needs to hire and or do an over haul on this “billing department “.

My counselor is helping me change my life

I have been with my counselor for about 6 months now and she has been key in my mental health recovery. I am 45 and the past few years have been the worst years of my life and she continues to help guide me out of the deep dark hole I’ve been living in. I am so thankful for her and will continue to see her as long as I can. If you get with a counselor and don’t connect in the first few visits, don’t give up, just see another until you get with whose right for you.

Good experience with provider, Over 2 weeks to get Medication

Update 5/29/2024: Prior to posting this I had called Life stance for the 3rd time to try and get my pre-authorization. They were able to finally push it through when I called someone over the phone. The prescription is being filled on Thursday, which means it will have taken 17 days (or 12 business days) since the physician had the prescription approved in my appointment. Original Review: 5/27/2024 Session with provider went well, and I had no concerns after my session. I was prescribed a medication. After 2 weeks, I have not been able to get this medication because Life stance is still working on the pre-authorization. At this point, it looks unlikely I will get my medication before my next scheduled appointment (which was 3 weeks away). I understand insurance sucks but taking two weeks to get prescribed medication issued is pretty terrible. When I reached out to them I was told 5-7 business days is normal (which I've now exceeded). Anyone interested in using this company should be aware of how long this will take, especially if you are in a situation where you need medication relatively quickly after your appointment.

Fraudulent Billing

I love my therapist but 100% surte that I have been charged for services I never received. At first, I thought it was accounts receivable mistakes but I have come to believe that it is fraud. After many complaints, they continue to bill for services not rendered.

my daughter was assigned Camay Rooney…

my daughter was assigned Camay Rooney for therapy. this lady was rude, late to video appointments, placed blame on my kid for making her late to her next appointment. pretty much ruined my kids perspective of asking for help when you need it. all this and then she had the audacity to charge over 900$ for making my kid feel like crap. the billing department sucks never answers the phone. im hoping they finally release the debt to a collector since they dont want to discuss the validity of the charges so it can be written off. We will NEVER use them again!

Tried to call them to have them send…

Tried to call them to have them send their bills to my insurance… after being on hold for over and hour they would call me back. I’m still waiting. I will pay them when the proper channels are taken. You send info to insurance I pay my co pay. This is how insurance works. Calling people back. Ignoring people does not work. I would never go to this junk science again! What a waste of my time and money!!

Just left their office in Moorseville…

Just left their office in Moorseville and the therapist seemed very impersonal and she switched my medication that Id been doing great on for years. Didn’t give me any refills so I have to drive back to Moorsville tomorrow. She judged me because I’m a recovering addict I could tell and kept looking at my cutting scars I tried to cover with makeup. She made me very uncomfortable and I pray to God there is somewhere else that takes Medicaid. I told her I needed counseling too which she ignored and didn’t even schedule a visit! She cut one of my Medications which isn’t even a narcotic in half! I just graduated top of my class cause I was finally on a good combination of medicines. She’s not even a psychologist she’s a nurse practitioner who knows nothing about mental health even my doctor said she should have slowly tapered me down. If something is working why mess with it. I’m so frustrated I could bite through nails. I will be requesting another provider.

Best counselor ever

Im not one to do reviews but I honestly don’t know where I’d be without Kathyrn Clark. She’s phenomenal. She’s been my counselor for 5 years and helped me through some of my hardest days. She is highly educated but also genuine and down to earth. She has a way of explaining things that I understand. Shes has given me resources within myself that help build my confidence and self esteem. I have a better understanding of who I am and work through my trauma because of Lifestance

A must read

Disappointed with the service I received by RAVEN ALEMAN would be the understatement of the decade. Raven will act caring, compassionate and non judgmental during sessions but the evil deception and her enemy persona lurks behind that smile. This lady called the police on me. She wanted me to be removed from my house and to be taken away by ambulance for days to detox. Detox from what you may be asking: Antihistamine (yes the over the counter medicine). She literally called men with guns (police) to physically drag me out of my home.To make things worse, the cops were yelling "your nurse says you have anxiety and take antihistamines". I also saw a cop, that she empowered with my private information, talking to my neighbor and doing the he's crazy gesture (circulating the finger around his head and then pointing to my house). This woman should not be in this field, She has caused me so much sadness and embarrassment and all this after our 2nd virtual meeting. If you want to be honest with your psychiatrist, as anyone knows is crucial for proper mental health treatment, stay very far from this lady. She will ruin your life for no reason at all... antihistamines for me, nothing else. You can't make this up - this really happened to me. To whom it should concern: I find it ironic, as I am sure you do too if you actually read my complaint, the need for Raven Aleman's privacy in disclosing her potential disciplinary action regarding this incident. My new NP, while chuckling, informed me of two important details: 1. Antihistamines are processed through ones body within 10 to 11 hours. 2. Considering the above fact: Did RAVEN just assume I would be on the medication at that specific time of the day? Deciding to send armed men who at a moments notice could end my life if I made one dislikable move. Due to understanding that my current and professional NP is not in her rookie year like RAVEN is. She has much more experience in matters of patients overall well-being. She has advised me if you do not disclose if the appropriate actions were administered your company is complicit and are open to legal action. I have not only suffered extreme mental repercussions but undeniable stress on my already high blood pressure. I have suffered financially as well. I do have a savings account if I am forced to hire a lawyer. I fully understand your company is far more powerful than I am and that my lawsuit will not be fruitful. I just can't let you sweep this under the rug. Your patients should deserve more thought and consideration than what I received.

My therapist is wonderful

My therapist is wonderful. I will sing her praises to anyone. Therapist gets A+ 100%. But since this is a review of *LifeStance* LifeStance itself I am not impressed with. They have apparently will put bogus charges on your account. Almost impossible to speak with anyone on the phone about. I spent hours waiting on hold, and when after a week of this I finally did get someone on the phone, they couldn’t tell me what it was for. My insurance covers all appts, and I haven’t received or been notified of any other services. Despite all of this, I still have an outstanding bill, for literally nothing, and if I don’t pay it, it will go to collections. If you can find a therapist as wonderful as I have without going through LifeStance, I highly recommend it. Willing to change this review if this gets resolved.
