I first had a nurse practioner as my provider and had a great experience. She gave me the feeling that she cared about me personally and gave me confidence that she was focused on helping me be better. But, she left Lifestance.
My next provider was doctor who treated me at each visit as if it was the first time we had met. No personality, no connection. After our last meeting, he prescribed an increased dose of a medicine. A few days later, I went to get the prescription filled and the pharmacist had no order for one. After several days of trying to get this remedied by contacting the doctor, they said they would call in the prescription. After taking the medicine for several days, I noticed that it was the old prescription, not the one for the increased dosage. I decided, for the first time in my life, to change doctors for a reason other than location.
Next was another doctor. I shared my previous experience with the previous doctor with her so she would know why I had changed. She blandly listened and robotically had the consultation. She ordered a blood test for me. When I went to get the blood test done, they had no order for one from her. Not again! She then called in the request. At our next meeting, knowing my previous experience, she did not even acknowledge that she had done the same thing. After our meeting, she prescribed a new medication. When I went to pick it up, there had been no prescription called in. No personality, no connection, and no demonstration by her actions that I was of any importance to her.
Is this what someone should expect from Lifestance providers?
