Do not order from this company. Im from the UK and ordered a cake for family for boxing day. It never came!!! I wrote them an email asking for a refund which I doubt i’ll ever get. They arent cheap!
The hamper I ordered for my friend's first Christmas as a married couple was a disaster, which is very sad, as I was so looking forward to sending them something lovely. I am in the UK and they are in America. The hamper was not packaged sufficiently so the wine bottle smashed, and not only ruined the hamper experience, but also made the items unusable/ inedible. My friends had a hell of mess that arrived and couldn’t enjoy any of it. Instead of being gracious about this, the company were less than helpful and only prepared to replace the wine bottle! I’ve never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. I even had pictures and videos. They also didn’t make my redelivery a priority before Christmas so it didn’t arrive before the holidays and they refused to offer a goodwill gesture too. Simply amateurish, appalling, unfair, and short sighted. I urge anyone never to use this company. I couldn’t be less impressed. The communication on email between myself and “Rica” was very poor; they didn’t read the emails correctly and kept sending standard answers and not replying to the individual points raised. The process was time consuming and painful without the desired outcome. Simply poor and unacceptable.

I paid ALOT of money and preselected all the items for my Christmas basket for my parents. When they received it - both bottles of alcohol were wrong and the meat/pate was missing. I contacted them and sent pictures. I requested that they resend the correct alcohol and the missing pate/meat. They refused advising that substitutions happen and that they are not liable for any different items. But I PAID extra to preselect the items - otherwise what’s the point of allowing people to select? They sent my parents Chardonnay (which they hate) and Spiced Rum (which they hate even more). And the meat/pate missing. They offered $35.99 back after my 3 attempts to get this worked out. That amount does not even come close to the amount I paid for those two bottles that I did not select and they want me to pay for. I requested either they send my parents the correct two bottles and missing pate/meat (or refund me the value of those particular items). They denied BOTH these options. Needless to say, I am now disputing the entire basket and will NEVER order through them again. And will be sharing this horrible experience with others.
I received a fruit basket as a gift from one of my supervisors. Unfortunately the fruits arrived in a decaying state with blemishes. Some fruit was already bad to have been chosen in the first place. I emailed them with the pics and their response was . "Although we are sorry to learn about the condition in which the items were delivered, unfortunately, we are unable to compensate you for the damages that occurred under these circumstances. As per our refund and delivery policies, we advise all customers against shipping perishable items – that is, any product with a lifespan that is subject to spoilage after a period of time such as fruits, cakes, cheeses and plants – using any shipping method that requires more than one business days' transit. Despite our best efforts, we can't guarantee the condition in which products of this nature will be delivered if in transit for longer time periods. Talk about customer service in the season of giving. Very cheap act in my opinion.
Very very BAD, DO NOT PURCHASE. I came to write reviews again this year because I saw they had a 4 star on GOOGLE. Do not trust, half the packages didn't show up and every other (6 out of 12) but 1 were smashed up and nearly useless. Every bottle of champagne and covosier sent arrived broken and that ruined everything else. Do not buy
Disappointed. Items I ordered were either missing (serving tray) or swapped for a different item (pineapple instead of grapes.... the recipient is allergic to pineapple). I indicated the requested delivery day, it was delivered 4 days before the requested date.... it was for a birthday surprise. I called to discuss and cannot get through to customer service. They responded via email to say they're busy at this time of year so sent the order when they could. No mention of the wrong items. RIP OFF.
TRASH COMPANY!! I wish I had read these reviews before ordering from Hazeltons. I had the same terrible experience as all these other former customers: my recipient’s gift basket was ruined by a completely decimated pie, the plant sent was half-dead/moldy, the glassware and food items were substituted with completely different products. When I reached out to ask Hazelton to please re-deliver an intact/edible pie, “Olivia” in their customer service department said their solution would be to deliver a non-perishable item AFTER CHRISTMAS! How is that at all resolving their failure of service? After several unhelpful and rude exchanges, I am purportedly getting my money refunded. If that doesn’t happen, I’ll be disputing this whole transaction through my credit card company.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY USE BAIT AND SWITCH METHOD! They do NOT return calls and all email or chat responses are canned. Our company spent over $5000 on gift baskets and they sent a much lower priced basket, without the additional wine we ordered. The only response was they had the right to switch out products if necessary. $5000 is a lot of money in this economy. This company provides terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. DO NOT ORDER FROM HAZELTONS!
Basket was nothing that i ordered. I ordered a fruit basket online. The basket that had no fruit. Included were crackers and mug and variety of other processed items. I sent for brother in law who had just had heart surgery. It was a bit embarrassing to be honest. Do not order from here. Call your local grocery store instead.
I should have been smart and read reviews before spending $100+ on a birthday gift basket! shipping was a week versus to the estimated 3 day delivery! When I complained a scripted apology was sent...I sent another email and heard nothing back! I will NEVER order again!!
A gift I had prepared in advance for my daughter's birthday was delivered on a different date than specified, and worse, the delivered cake was squashed. The company mentioned they could only refund 50% of the squashed cake. Despite several requests, a refund for the damaged cake was eventually processed. However, this event was intended to bring joy to my daughter, but it ended in complete disappointment. Furthermore, the thoughtfully written card message was not delivered.
I ordered a gift basket for my friend’s birthday. I tracked the order and discovered that the basket was not delivered as there was no reply at the door of the condo. My friend confirmed that her door buzzer is faulty, but the door was open for access and no phone call was received. I contacted Hazelton’s to see what the next step would be. Very unhappy to be told that there would be a $20 redelivery charge or I could have a partial refund ($17 deduction!). Reading the other reviews on Trustpilot, my friend has probably had a lucky escape. Dreadful customer service and a total ripoff
I received a totally different basket in respect to what I had chosen. Sure, it was my error that I did not see the super fine print that the company has the right to switch out any product if it is not available in the warehouse. It is a pity that the majority of the products were switched out, therefore losing its Italian touch. I did spend quite a bit of time to choose this, as the specifically Italian taste was an important part of the significance of the present. Plus, the delivery took a couple of days longer than stated. The customer service was also quite dismissive of the issues brought up. Would not recommend.
We ordered a Liquor Gift basket and paid for a premium bourbon upgrade (Woodford Reserve Bourbon). When the item arrived they switched the alcohol to an entirely different type of alcohol and a much lower price point than we paid (Chivas Regal Scotch) Our friends we sent this to do not even drink Scotch. Hazelton’s did not email or call us to say they were out of our selection nor did they refund the difference we paid. Their only response was they could make substitutions as per their terms. This was underhanded as they also switched the wooden box and glasses we paid for. From our experience, they advertise a premium product and deliver a product you would never order. This completely ruined what was supposed to be a special gift for our dear friends.
Unfortunately with this order - it did not turn out well Disappointed with the service and the gift ordered. Brought it to the attention of Hazelton’s who suggested we send “brownies” instead of the red velvet cake (which had been mushed up). But, they simply sent the same exact order with cake again. Kind of strange. And, the cake was again “mushed up”. So disappointing on this occasion. I brought the incident again to the attention of Hazelton’s… and was told that “maybe” there were no brownies (no one bothered to check with us for a substitute). And, that - “Please feel free to use or discard of the items where you see fit”. Whoa… Well, considering I live in Australia, and the order was for a relative in Ottawa,,,, I guess you get the idea. Suffice to say I brought the problem of communications and service to their attention. The recipient thought it was more than strange to receive the same messed up gift package twice. I am not sure what the thinking of Hazelton’s was with respect to the problem. In the future, I suppose I can also use a different company for such overseas gift giving - as “I see fit”.
Worse experience of a lifetime. Ordered a special gift well in advance of the actual day of the anniversary and it still has not arrived and it is 10 days pending and package not trackable. The company has no consideration for its customers nor have any mission or goal to meet or exceed customer expectations. They don't appear to realize the nature of their business and they clearly not setup to be in this industry. I urge you to use caution and select an alternative provider. The only apparent product they deliver is disappointment and embarrassment, in addition to taking no responsibility in destroying special days and events.
Deja vu: I ordered a premium gift basket for friends in Canada in April. The delivery was 3 days late and everything had been substituted - it was nothing like the goods I'd paid for. When I complained, I was advised that substitutions are common in the gift industry and, as for the delay, it was the fault of the courier, nothing to do with Hazeltons. Appreciating this may have been a one-off and hoping to give them a second chance, I ordered a 'champagne dessert' gift basket for friends' 25th wedding anniversary recently. Sadly, same thing: the gift took 10 days to be delivered (not 2-5) and bore no resemblance to what I'd ordered - more of a 'cheap wine, packet of cookies and lump of cheese' box. Again, I was informed the delay was the fault of the couriers, not Hazeltons. I wrote a review for their website but, interestingly, their company has to assess all reviews before deciding to publish - which is probably why there were so few poor reviews when I looked! I've given this company two chances, they won't get a third. Poor quality goods, delayed delivery and abysmal customer service.
We ordered a tropical paradise champagne gift basket yesterday at 6am Canada time for same day delivery for our nieces wedding (which is today 16th September .) Disappointingly this order has not yet been delivered !!!!!! Not happy with this poor service and would certainly expect some explanation as a way of customer service but am not counting on it . Appalling
