Wish I’d checked these reviews before I ordered from HAZELTON’S. put together a custom selected basket as a Christmas package for my daughter on her OE in Canada. Purposely selected the offered Husky soft toy & the milk chocolate they sent a Teddybear. & dark chocolate both of which my daughter doesn’t like!! Contacted them multiple times to ask them to rectify & three times got an ‘automated or AI’ message saying their terms & conditions allow them to make substitutions so basically they can put anything in & hide behind the substitution clause. Will never purchase from them again
Terrible experience. Same as all others. Ordered to have next day delivery which was to happen dec 16 th. I have messaged customer service with really no help. They have handed it Off to the shipping company that is now my responsibility to check on. My order of fresh flowers and other food items has been sitting somewhere for a week now. All social media has comments blocked….i wonder why. $200 just gone with no help from customer service. Would give a zero if could.
I placed an order with Hazelton's on Saturday for a Christmas delivery, as their website claimed orders placed before 2 PM would be shipped the same day. The site also required me to select a delivery date—December 23—which gave the impression it would be honored. I even paid for two-business-day shipping to ensure timely delivery. However, the tracking link provided didn’t work, and when I contacted customer service, I was told the order was only being prepared today (several days later) and might ship on December 23 or 24, leaving no guarantee it would arrive on time. To make matters worse, the customer service representative was unprofessional—answering the call with chewing noises and barking dogs in the background. She repeatedly stated what she "could not do" and offered no solutions or alternatives to resolve the issue. Hazelton's misleading shipping policies and poor customer service are unacceptable, and their failure to uphold their stated values of "People, Service, Quality, and Innovation" is glaring. I will not order from them again and strongly recommend others avoid this company.
Over priced and recieved different items than ordered. No communication about substituting items. No refunds, partial refunds, or returns. Buyer beware! Even if you pick specific items, you may get different ones with no communication. For example, a sweeter riesling white wine was orderded, recieved a dry chardonnay. Ordered milk chocolate and recieved dark. Contacting is no help because they only email a copy of the fine print which states they can substitute with no communication and no refunds or exchanges. What was supposed to be a thoughtful gift for my wife, seemed like a careless order of wine and chocolate she doesnt really like.l that was very expensive. Waste of money and would never recommend.
Received expired food items. Items were missing and not as described, upon calling their customer service, they did not rectify it my satisfaction. Based on their company reviews, this is not an isolated incident but a chronic issue with this company, and I would not recommend using them company.
Lost the order, can’t call only recording. Emailed told me to call courier to see if they can locate package. It up to customer their busy ‘it’s Christmas you know’ no customer service $190 In goods lost but can’t do anything but “thanks for my patience” don’t deal with these people very bad service.
I strongly advise against using Hazelton's for gift orders. For the third year in a row, I've had to contact them to address issues with my order. The item delivered was not as described, and when I reached out, their response was downright rude and unhelpful. They showed no willingness to correct their error, which speaks volumes about their lack of customer service. It's also telling that they've removed Google reviews--likely because of the overwhelming negative feedback about their poor service. This seems like an attempt to avoid accountability and hide how bad the experience is for customers. Save yourself the frustration and choose a company that values its customers and delivers what it promises.
Terrible customers service. They actually told me to call the courier company that it was out of their control. I said - you hired them. It is in your control. Can you call an account manager and find out an eta. And I got hung up on! Do not buy from here.
I'm very disappointed I ordered flowers wine and chocolates. The flowers where absolutely nothing like what I ordered. They where pitiful.
On the basis of a clause in their terms and condition they substitute the items in their package without any notice. The marble tray was substituted with a super cheap wooden chopping board and the reason given was its in T&C that we can substitute any item of the package and you can claim any refund. I am not even asking for refund but just be transparent to customer and not cheat them on the name of tnc.
I ordered a sympathy gift that arrived late. The tracking slip indicated "CONSIGNEE NOT HOME." After submitting an online report, I contacted Hazelton's for clarification on whether the package would be redelivered, if we needed to pick it up, or if it had gone missing. They informed me that there was nothing more they could do on their end, suggested that I had likely filled in the address incorrectly, and told me to contact the shipping company (which I had already done using the same information I previously provided). When I expressed my disappointment, their follow-up email merely confirmed that the package had since been marked as delivered, without apologising for their assumption that the issue was on my end. I am disappointed by the lack of clear information and had hoped for a more thoughtful response that aligned with the company's values.
En fait, ils mettent ce qu’ils veulent dans votre colis au prétexte qu’ils sont parfois à court de produits… donc en fait, vous choisissez un panier cadeau et ils font ce qu’ils veulent… j’avais payé pour des jolis verres à bière et j’ai eu 4 paquets de snacks pourris. Hyper déçue et ils s’en foutent complètement en vous disant que vous avez accepté les « terms and conditions »
Buyer beware! I wish I'd read these reviews before ordering. Hazelton's reserves the right to completely substitute your gift basket with no ability to provide input and compensation. I ordered the "Feeling Great Bed Tray" and they did not ship the bed tray component - just a flimsy standard tray that was broken on delivery. DO NOT USE THEM!!!
I ordered, from France, a nice arrangement for our daughter’s anniversary in Montreal and paid with my Visa Gold international card. I was told that my payment was risky for them and that this method and my card were not accepted and was asked to make another payment through another method not available to me in Europe. They also said that upon reception of the payment I would be reimboursed of my payment made with the Visa card (?) within 7 days. So my Visa card was refused for my order but the payment went through since they were going to remboursé me later on! I refused and I told them to cancel my order and reimburse me immediately. This finally happened after I had to complain strongly and insist on the immediate remboursement!!
Appalling. Claimed input in the wrong address for my own brother. Tried to charge me $60 for redelivery even though delivery was free as order so large. No kne contacted me to say that was not delivered. Their delivery driver said would deliver next day and did not. 3 days later when no delivery I was told either pay the $60 charge or refund LESS “spoiled” items. Unfathomable. I’m making a complaint to the Canadian high commission as I’m in the UK and this company treat foreigners with disdain. It’s appalling that they are still in business.
I ordered a gift basket from Hazelton’s to be delivered to a small hospital and the recipient did not receive it. I called the hospital and they had five security guards looking for it and nobody knew anything about it. They said they had Canpar deliver it but it is no where to be found. They will not make and effort to look for it and said it is my responsibility to contact the delivery company that they hired. They won’t send another gift basket or refund me. This company is a rip off. Buyers beware.
I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the recent service provided by your company concerning my order for a birthday cake. The cake was ordered from Sri Lanka to be delivered to my daughter in Canada, and the entire experience has been utterly disheartening. Despite placing the order two days in advance to ensure a timely delivery for my daughter's special day, the cake arrived a full day late. This delay was unacceptable and significantly marred what was supposed to be a joyous occasion. Moreover, I was appalled to learn that the cake was simply left outside my daughter's home. Given the time-sensitive nature of food deliveries and the perishable nature of the cake, this was an egregious oversight. As a result, the cake was not in a usable state when it was finally discovered, rendering it completely unusable for the celebration. This level of service is not only disappointing but also entirely unacceptable. Such an experience is not what one would expect, especially considering the reputation of your company and the fact that this order was placed from abroad with the expectation of reliable service. It is disappointing to note that no courtesy call or message was provided during the delay, especially considering this was meant to celebrate a special birthday occasion. I believe that in a country like Canada, this level of service is completely unacceptable and reflects a significant degree of negligence in your delivery process.

Horrendous. I ordered a “gourmet” basket to be delivered to my father for his 80th birthday. It arrived late, and there was nothing gourmet about it. Cheap chocolate bars, cheap nuts. And it was missing extra items I paid for. Even the tin it came in was nothing like what was pictured. I was so embarrassed that my father thought I had chosen those things to send to him. I asked for a refund and was denied. I wanted at least part of $100 back. I wrote to the better business bureau and they refused to accept they had done anything wrong with the argument that they use “suitable replacements” as necessary. A fancy dark chocolate bar and pistachios should not be replaced with an o’Henry bar and a 1$ bag of peanuts. They delete or don’t post their negative reviews. This company is a total scam.
