Poor Quality & Substitutions

Since their customer service has stopped responding to our email chain I figure I might as well take the time to write a review to hopefully warn others about the quality of service and products from Hazelton. I ordered the "Pretzels & Popcorn Snack Crate" and added 4 beers for an extra charge. I was given the option to choose beer and I selected the option from Mill St. (100th meridian, MS Organic or another) and specified in the notes that I would like the 100th Meridian or a similar Amber beer as thats my dad's preference. My father finally received his basket today (3 days after his birthday, their shipping schedule isn) and it included Mill St Organic, despite me specifying to please include the 100th Meridian beer or another craft amber beer. He doesn’t drink lagers and it’s disappointing that my request wasn’t taken into consideration. I wouldn't have minded the substitution, HOWEVER the cans were the small size (355ml). The 100th Meridian beer only comes in 473ml size cans, so not only did they send the wrong beer, but substituted it for smaller size. The basket contents itself had issues as well. There were no pistachios included, and instead my dad got another thing of almonds. Ok fine. Well there were no “Bacon and Cheddar Chip nuts”, instead my dad got some cheap salted peanuts. So 2 things of salted almonds and some cheap peanuts. Considering I paid over a hundred bucks for some snacks and 4 beers I’m pretty upset with Hazeltons and their customer service. Substitutions are one thing and totally understandable in this type of industry. With that in mind, its unacceptable to send a lower quality product/a much cheaper product instead of what you advertise. In their reply to me they mentioned their substitution policy, and that I accepted it when placing the order. By their logic had I ordered a filet mignon at a steakhouse, I should be alright with a salisbury steak instead (and at the same price as the filet!). I hope Hazelton's sees this review and remedies this situation. If not I will take my business elsewhere (and encourage others to do so as well).
