AVOID Hazelton’s at all cost! Absolutely dissatisfied with the $250.00 basket of subpar substitutions, missing product, purposely ripped packing (cut open the bottom to add my additional purchases), stained card. Customer service is an absolute joke! Total disregard for their alleged Guarantee. STOP - do not buy from them!

We received a gift orchid from our son…

We received a gift orchid from our son and family. On arrival 2 flowers had fallen off, the rest were collapsing and close to the end. We sent these photos to the Ottawa, Southern Ontario and Massachusetts orchid societies. All said that this orchid was well past it's prime; one said it must have sat around for a long time before they sent it; another said it really brought up the integrity of this company. They have been dismissive of my emails, told me that a customer must complain within 24 hours [we were the recipients not the customer) and clearly have no intention of making up gor delivery of an execrable orchid. I would strongly recommend against using this company if our experience serves as an example. Bad products, extremely poor customer interaction and no sense of pride or honour in the products that they deliver. David E

Reprehensible Company

They delivered a very expensive gift basket containing wine and cheese with the items so hot that I almost dropped the bottle and the cheese was melted and basically cooked (as was the wine). Must have been well over 120 degrees F. Destroyed goods. I called and emailed the company and they said "we delivered the goods in satisfactory condition." They accepted no responsibility and offered no recourse. I have never seen such reprehensible "service" from any other vendor I've dealt with. I just feel very badly for the kind and well-intentioned people who sent me the gift basket. Such a shame.

Please read this before ordering from Hazelton’s...

I placed a time-sensitive order with Hazelton’s and requested to cancel it just 14 hours later when they admitted it wouldn’t ship on time. They refused — falsely claiming the package had already shipped. But the tracking proved that it didn’t reach the courier until days later. When the package arrived, it contained cheap, low-quality grocery store items that looked nothing like what I ordered. When I raised these concerns, they blamed the courier, dismissed my concerns about product value and presentation, refused to issue a refund or provide a return label, and then stopped responding. I’ve since filed a formal dispute with my credit card company — and I strongly encourage anyone else affected to do the same. Don't let them get away with this. If you paid by credit card, you have rights. Companies like this count on customers giving up out of frustration. Don’t. File a dispute. Report them to the BBB. Submit a complaint to Consumer Protection Ontario. Every voice matters, and your action could help prevent others from being taken advantage of the same way.

Disappointed

Ordered a gift basket for our nephew's 50th birthday. Got to the checkout and realized I wanted to edit my wishes to him, which I could not do online so I called. The representative was nice and told me I had to put my order through whereby she could do the editing for me. Did all that and she wrote the changes I made. All good right? Nope. I made this call on Sunday at noon, figuring I wanted Wednesday delivery would be plenty of time, when I told her the delivery is for Wednesday she proceeded to tell me that for ground service there is a three-day schedule, therefore the gift basket would arrive the day after my nephew's birthday on the Thursday!!! I told her then I had no choice but to cancel my order, she never tried to help by saying well let me check to see if it can make it by Wednesday, (since technically that is three days) - anyway the order was cancelled. Very disappointing to say the least and they lost out on well over $100. I ordered from one of their competitors and had no issues.

Ordered a specific basket and was delivered something entirely different- company stating their terms and conditions ANYTHING can be substituted without warning. Absolute shit customer service. Didn’t even allow a return, even though package wasn’t opened. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Does not deliver on time

Tried to send a gift basket to friends while they were out travelling and had a date and time confirmed by email and at the checkout. Only to have the delivery show up 3 days after the selected time. There was no indication while checking out or on the confirmation email that there would be an issue in delivering on time and was met with less than satisfactory customer service. No refund, no answers, and one gift basket floating an Ottawa hotel forever now I guess? Wouldn't recommend. Maybe if you are planning way ahead of schedule you might have a different experience.

Advertised that they do 1 day delivery…

Advertised that they do 1 day delivery for Mother’s Day and now we’re two days past and still not delivered. I can’t call or get customer service on the line and there’s no way for me to even tell where the package is. I’m so disappointed that I fell for this. $200 for nothing.

FREAKING OUT

FREAKING OUT. $200.00 on a gift basket for mother's day. 1- did not arrive on mother's day even though i planned and ordered ahead. 2- basket was supposed to be the luxury gourmet deluxe basket with quality items - received random cheap products in replacement. Nothing matched the description/brands, NOT EVEN THE FLAVOURS WERE THE SAME. nothing matched at ALL. Hypothetical Example, if i order a strawberry cake from a gourmet bakery, are you going to send me a chocolate one from the dollar store? ridiculous. There were also items missing. now i am reading reviews and see many other people got scammed - i cannot believe i ordered with them. if i would have checked the reviews prior - i would have avoided all together. STAY AWAY.

Hazeltons is the WORST!

Hazeltons creates the worst baskets, the worst customer service, and the worst resolution!!!! My basket was not delivered to the the address listed and I found out the following day it has been sent to my post office. After picking up the gift and opening it, I had ordered the most expensive succulent plant they sell and it was upside down (broken tips, broken leaves, dirt everywhere, one succulent snapped and fallen out of the pot-dead). I was not impressed. The rest off my $240 basket was poorly displayed and items were just stacked up inside the trunk I had ordered, not like they show in any of their pictures. I called customer service where they told me I had to send an email with photos, which I did, and I used my invoice number as the subject of my email. The following day, I get a reply from their customer service person from a totally different Order number and asking me to provide photos and my order number. What????? Anyway, after several emails back and forth, they finally get the order number right and I have to resend them photos. An hour later they offer a 50% refund. What do I do with that? I tried calling Customer Service again and they said I had to work on a resolution with the person I was emailing and shut me diwn. A whole new basket still has to be reordered at this point and 6 friends from across Canada chipped in for this! At this point, I now I have a mutilated succulent and week old meat, cheese etc. I am embarrassed our friend still hasn't a sympathy basket from us too. I used them once before for some simple floral and I was embarrassed to see what my neighbour received in the end. The Hazelton website always looks fantastic, so I made the mistake of giving them a second chance. Never again!!! The following

NO STARS

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I've had an appalling experience. I live in the UK and ordered a houseplant for my niece's birthday. She lives in Ontario. The wrong plant was delivered on the wrong day. Canpar left the plant outside in minus 20 degrees surrounded by snow, and didn't even ring the doorbell, so no-one knew the plant was out there, with the obvious resulting damage. My niece was too embarrassed to tell me that my birthday gift was, effectively, a dead houseplant. When I found out, I contacted Hazeltons and asked for a replacement or refund. They have refused both and are hiding behind their small print saying I should have reported the state of the plant within 24 hours, despite my not being aware. They are not holding Canpar to account but instead have refused to look after their customer. They also won't deal with the fact that they delivered the wrong plant on the wrong day. Abysmal customer service. Please warn your friends.

0 stars! BUYER BEWARE. This is a scam

Ordered a basket for a sick relative and they never delivered anything. Just took the payment. I called and emailed 'customer service' several times, as well as their delivery company, and did not get anywhere. They did not offer any resolution, were not willing to look into the matter at all and kept the money. They also tried to blame it on their delivery company and told me to follow up with them --who also never called me back -- and when questioned about the delivery, emailed me a bogus delivery receipt with a signature that was not my relative's signature! This is a scam and I give them no stars! Shameful and inexcusable taking advantage of people this way!

This is by far the worst service I…

This is by far the worst service I received from any company and I buy everything online from food to clothes to travel. Almost everything I ordered for my sick daughter was substituted for an item of lesser value. I spent so much time trying to find fruits and nuts she was not allergic to but of course she was allergic to the substitution. This is ridiculous. They should contact the sender to make sure and to get approval for substitution. I had to spend so much time trying to get some dollars back, writing emails to their "customer service". They did not apologize, they have zero care for their customers. Avoid at all cost. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering from them. Never again.

Missing items, horrible customer service

If I could give 0 stars to this company I would. I ordered a delivery 10 days prior to the event. On the day of the event it arrived late in the evening (when the event was already over) with 1 missing item and 3 wrong items. I spoke with 2 customer service reps, both of which were incredibly rude and uncaring. I asked them, reasonably, to either send me the missing items and replace the wrong items or to give me a partial refund for the missing item. Both practically laughed at me. I've also left THREE VERIFIED reviews on their website because each time I'd leave a review it would get deleted. So I decided to leave a review here. I will never order from them again and lesson learned - should have checked TrustPilot before ordering.

My family from Albania ordered for me birthday gift basket,,50 is big deal! The order was delivered one day late ( understandable Ottawa ,, cold and 30k wind . The wait was worth it.. the basket was beautiful,,,the flowers were very fresh and beautiful,,and the cake delicious..everything was perfect! Thank you 😍❤️

My experience with Hazelton’s was beyond frustrating. It took 20 days—far too long—for my gift basket to be delivered, completely ruining the occasion it was meant for. And when it finally showed up, the entire thing was a disaster. Everything was either damaged or frozen, and to top it off, the red wine, the centerpiece of the basket, had exploded. For a company that claims to offer premium gift baskets, this is absolutely unacceptable. There was no effort to explain the delay, no apology, and no quality control whatsoever. This wasn’t just disappointing—it was infuriating. I spent good money expecting something special, and instead, I got a mess. I wouldn’t trust Hazelton’s with another order, and I recommend others avoid them as well.

Christmas hamper never arrived!

Ordered a Christmas hamper to be delivered on a specific date and they simply didn't deliver even after various email request checking on the shipping status. Needless to say, we looked ridiculous not having sent a gift. Stay away from this company! Totally unprofessional and unreliable.
