Review summary
PSA Finance UK Limited has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
I have been using PSA Financial Services Limited for two years now following a recommendation to seek advice on ameliorating all of my work pensions.
Raividas Jay has met with me to undertake a review of my pension plans and the trends for each year as my financial circumstances might change occasionally.
The meetings are informal and are geared towards securing the best outcome for me rather than anyone else so is truly independent of other interests which is great.
I would highly recommend them as a company and for the support their staff provide.
Me: I can see that the DD was set up in october, so why was no money taken?
Them: It's an error in our system, it often doesn't work with the first payment
Me: So will it work the next time?
Them: I don't know. It should do
Me: Why is the outstanding amount increased by £12?
Them: That's because the payment was late, so we've charged you a late repayment charge
Me: For a payment that you knew would never be taken, so wasn't in fact 'missed' at all?
Them: Yes. But I can refund that for you if you like?
Me: Yes, I think I would like that. will this mean that I get a black mark on my credit rating?
Them: I'm not sure. It shouldn't do, but if it does then call us back and we'll get that sorted for you.
Me: Well that's dandy. Thank you for your help. You have been very helpful
Them: No problem at all. When the call ends there will be a short survey if you wouldn't mind filling that in?
Me: No not at all, I'd love to fill that in.
Computer: How likely would you be to recommend us to a friend or colleague, where 0 is not at all likely, and 9 is extremely likely?
Me: (talking to the computer) How would I recommend a finance company? I have no say in who Citroen mandate I use for this loan. (Pressed 2)
Computer: Invalid entry. Thank you for filling in the survey. Goodbye
Buying a car from Robins and Day was so easy, the salesmen are very knowledgeable and keen to help,we dealt with Naresh Syal he went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. Well done!!
PSA Finance charged me for a “repair” and “cancellation” fee that I did not agree to. They phone you three weeks in advance of your lease ending asking to arrange for pickup/inspection of your car. If you agree to the inspection you are not allowed to drive your car as they seal it up with stickers, meaning you miss out on paid in advance days. They do little to facilitate a refund, do not accept any form of communication to discuss the query. Thoroughly disappointing service, as well as shady practices charging £120 for a “repainting” of a door that seemingly had paint drops at the bottom of it? Photograph every inch of your vehicle when you receive it so that you do not become a victim of their ways of getting extra money from you. Further, they charged me £127 for a “cancellation fee”. Again I didn’t agree to this and still have not had any discourse 3 months after the end of my lease. If your lease is up, ensure you tell your bank that they should not process any payments after the end of the contract as they will aim to take it from you.
NO STARS, PSA. Here's how to lose a reliable, long standing customer...
Due to internal lags between Peugeot and PSA Finance when part-exchanging vehicles, PSA direct debited an 8K balloon payment for my previous vehicle from my business account after I was already driving my new one. This debit should not have happened. I had duly completed all paperwork required in good time. The very unwelcome discovery of said invalid 8K debit was an entirely internal error on the part of the parent company, PSA, and its dealership. I have an excellent, long-standing relationship with my personal dealer so was shocked and angry when PSA staff were constipated, procedural and slow to offer apologies (which sounded as if they were made to cover what they sit on) when explaining that they would not be refunding my money until all banking processes were cleared with their own banks. The outcome of the last of a tedious series of phone calls over five days was that no ex-gratia payment would or 'could' be made to me, someone who has paid them thousands of pounds in interest over many years. Meanwhile, my business account has been cleared out by their error, meaning I have had to raid an ISA to pay bills and cover what will eventually become, due to compound communication delays between the two companies, a minimum 10 day loss of use my money (or eight working days). Their suggestion to prevent business losses? That I "indemnify" the temporary losses with my bank i.e arrange an overdraft. I dare not insert any adjective at this point but, reader, feel free to mentally insert a rude one. Expletives are applicable to companies motivated as PSA Finance clearly are, to the point where they neglect the very source of their finance.
Keep a 2 meter distance and disinfect everything after dealing with PSA
Was offered a car I could not afford at a point in life where my finances were too unreliable to take on such a debt. There was no credit check done, and the finance was issued to a person whose property didn't even exist. They lied on my application forms regarding my employment history, and refused to address the issue once it had became an apparent problem.
After contacting the financial ombudsman and requesting a review of their lending practices, it was found that they had acted fraudulently, and as such have now been ordered to repay me everything I paid minus "fair use of the car" (about 120 a month), to also wipe my credit file of any negative information and to no longer persue any form of debt from me.
Despite telling them countless times that they had acted unfairly they continued to tell me the debt was mine and I must pay it. These people are liars, they have terrible lending practices, and offer no duty of care to their customers on the slightest. Avoid like the plague, and save yourself 5 years of stress, bad credit scores and sleepless nights.
I cannot understand in this day and age how a company like PSA finance can get away with daylight robbery! I recently returned a car which was nearly 7 years old and was in a very good condition, they sent an inspector from Mannheim to take the car away after nearly an hour of trying his best to find fault, I was not present but watched him on my camera, they took the car away that same day.
Then, they decided to take £3,700 plus out of my bank account, so not only did they take the car away, they also decided they would take the balloon payment as well. The money was eventually returned to me after a few weeks and after I contacted the finance Ombudsman, no apology was received.
At the time I received a notice to say that Mannheim were charging me £160 for issues with the car bodywork, a scuff on the mirror casing and colour mismatch (whatever that meant) I sent in a lengthy email with images showing the mirror was slightly scuffed when I collected the car and a photo of my car to show there was no colour mis-match - I heard nothing back at all!
Today weeks later after my refund, I received a letter in the mail stating that PSA finance are going to help themselves to £160 from my account again! For what? I sent in a complaint which was clearly ignored. Now, I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist; but I cannot help but feel that PSA needed to find something of fault, they had to make a financial gain in some shape or form. I cannot see how this is fair, they ignored my lengthy email with images but claim weeks later that I still owe them money and there is nothing I can do about it.
I tried to call in the middle of the day on more than one occasion but they are closed? how do you challenge this? there website is awful, there is no obvious complaints procedure and if there was no-one would get back to you.
I am fuming and will be going back to the Ombudsman, PSA need to be clear and transparent and fair, at least allow a call to be made so they can be challenged.

If I could give minus 10 I would!!!!
My vehicle was supposed to be collected by Manheim during the pandemic, however they cancelled then PSA proceeded to charge me for non return of the vehicle
They then sent me an arrears letter for above which caused a lot of stress.
When the collection date finally arrived I had all my documents ready as per advise given but instead of Manheim another collection agency collected the vehicle. Stated that no docs were necessary due to pandemic and to sort the rest out with PSA. I followed instruction as I believed him and later was slapped with missing service histories and other missing docs. I couldn't leave in the vehicle as the service histories would have incurred charges and I couldn't risk leaving in the car unless he was willing to take responsibility which he clearly wouldn't as he had told me to sort out with PSA.
I took pics of docs in my hand on the date of collection to prove they were there for hand over...big mistake I should have recorded the whole collection process so that I had proof when the final bill came including 3 seperate charges for missing docs.
I rang PSA several times yet nobody could be bothered to look into it. Between the 2 inspections I had plenty of time to return the docs however i soon realised i was wasting my time, why would PSA try to resolve? As they were going to make a lot of money out of me this way.
My first inspection showed no damage yet the second inspection found surplus dents and scratches that were never even noted down in the first inspection.
They then put on my credit file that I had missed payments whilst the payment was being disputed. This caused some damage to my credit file which until now had remained clear.
WRIGHTS RECOVERIES were the collection agency.
PSA are still chasing me for payment which I still believe I should not be paying as their agents advised me wrongfully.
Be careful of this company. They will try to rip you off if they can do this to vulnerable customers when mental health and anxiety is prevalent and during a pandemic they can do this anytime. No morals,
No customer resolution, nor ethics simply, how much money can we squeeze out of this customer ? Even if the collection instruction is followed by the 3rd party collection agency, trust your instincts- record the whole collection process and ensure that you DO NOT listen to any advice given. They are LIES and not in your best interests at all. If they say sort out with PSA make them ring PSA while you are with them so that all instruction is logged so they can't charge you for things that are manipulated into being missing when they are not.
Stay away from them, it's simply not worth the stress!!!! NEVER EVER WOULD I EVER EVER GET A CAR WITH THIS COMPANY IN CHARGE OF FINANCE .......
