No even think of changing your provider to this

I port-in from 48 to this because I thought i the offer they had was better, the port-in never happened i called them approximately 20 times in 5 days, wrote emails and the never provided me a solution they just stated “they cannot do anything but follow up” AWFUL SERVICE, do not even think to change your provider to this. Highly not recommended it

Very Disappointed – No Service Abroad After Network Update

I'm very disappointed with Lycamobile Ireland. I'm currently on holiday abroad and my phone number has completely stopped working. I have no internet access, can’t make calls, and can’t send or receive texts. Before the recent network update, I never had any issues using my phone abroad – it always worked smoothly. Now I feel completely disconnected, and it’s frustrating and even unsafe not being able to contact anyone. There was no proper warning or help from Lyca, and I still don’t know what I need to do to fix this. I’m also unsure whether the service will automatically start working again once I return to Ireland. Poor service and lack of support. I expected better.

Extremely Disappointed After Recent Upgrade

After the recent upgrade, my mobile service has become almost unusable. I barely have internet access—around 90% of the time it's either extremely slow or completely unavailable. Before the upgrade, everything was working fine. On top of that, I sometimes don’t receive calls at all. Instead, I get a message saying I missed a call, even though my phone never rang. This is extremely frustrating, especially when expecting important calls. I emailed Lycamobile customer service two weeks ago, but haven’t received any response. The lack of support is unacceptable. Overall, the service has significantly declined since the upgrade, and it’s causing real inconvenience. I hope these issues are addressed urgently.

unreliable with little to no customer service

I have had recurring issues with Lyca for almost a year now. After the activation process didn´t work and I contacted them via phone (do expect to wait a solid 30min to get through to someone that may or may not be able to help you) they managed to at least get my plan up and running. However since then I have on multiple occasions lost complete connection (signal/internet etc.) for up to 48h in a row. My phone either shows "no sim" or "no signal" and no restart, turning the eSIM on/off or flight mode has helped. I have again tried to call to resolve this to no avail. This is my final straw and I will change provider now.

Impossible to get service agent…

Impossible to get service agent Patricia to respond to my queries. I wanted to move to Lyca but the customer service agent won't even reply on the customer service chat that we are on.

Lyca mobile treats customers like filth I had set up 3 SIMs for the family and my son's did not renew after the 28 days I had called in advance to see if it would and I was told everything is under control as I didn't want this to happen then to be told my card wasn't saved,and the original plan €9.99 at the cheeper rate was no longer available and I now have to pay €20 every 28 days,they then will blame you ,then when you question it they will tell you the call is being recorded,they will talk over you when you try to explain,then they will say your lying,stay a million miles away from them they will not help you it's not in the company interest,all they want to do is argue with the customer and not help them. Very sad way to live life,( update 19/05/2025 still no help)

Blocking my son's new card

Bought my son his first phone. Put a Lyca SIM card in and joined a 15 euro per month payment plan. After 24 hours without any warning they blocked his card due to excessive use. (There wasn't alot) They said it looks like a business phone. Called customer care they couldn't help. I had to email. Emailed them ang got a reply 3 days later looking for loads of info. Getting out of here ASAP.....

Customer Support is not available

Chat AI is the new poor customer experience overall but it is really bad with Lyca. I wanted to stop using their eSIM however it takes a lot of requests to bypass the bot and when finally chatting to the agent the chat disconnects due to inactivity because the agent doesn't respond. Edit: emailed Lyca customer support, to the email provided below on the day of response and they have not responded. I suppose they approve this review.

I ordered 2 sim cards

I ordered 2 sim cards. 1x 4GB data, 1x unlimited for the phone. Both arrived in one envilope. There is no info to tell which card is for what plan. I tried customer care at least 20 times but no answer. Sent an email, No answer. Tried to cancel by email, no answer. Online AI robot, no answer. I have not had an experience in any way shape or form, with any company, that was worse then Lyca in respect of customer care. Obviously I will not activate the cards. Seem I have lost the money but I will have to go with a different company. I had asked to refund the money. Thanks to Trustpilot they replied but did not mention refund at all. Instead they asked me to activate the cards. I just want a refund, because this company obviously can not be trusted.

Definitely without doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with. An absolute disaster from start to finish. Obviously no longer a customer. I would rather have a carrier pigeon than go back to lycamobile.ie

If I could have given 0 stars I would. Run don't walk from this company. They are scam artists of the highest order. I ordered 1 sim and €10 a month plan. Worked perfectly for the first month, then they took the second payment. I ordered another sim as I needed two numbers, it worked fine for the first month. Then I get an email that my payment failed. no reason, as there was plenty of money there. I called they told me I was out of plan and needed to spend €20 to get a plan. They take the payment for the second sim and as soon as the payment went out everything stopped working on it also. I had ported my number of 24 years over on to the second sim, and they have basically stolen my number. After numerous phone calls and emails, being hung up on, put on hold, transferred to a loop recording of a phone ringing, while waiting for a supervisor, I'd finally had enough. I went to Eir and purchased two sims and transferred the first sims number, which was the new number I had received, but Lyca blocked text messages on the other sim. I topped it up by €10 to be able to receive the necessary text from Eir to complete the transfer of my number of 24 years and it still would not allow me to receive texts. After several more calls emails, being hung up on and loop recordings waiting for imaginary supervisors I gave up and my number of 24 years had been hijacked by this unscrupulous company. Save yourself the trouble, the calls, the emails, and the stress. RUN as FAR and as FAST as you can from these thieves. They'll steal your peace, your money and your ported phone number. Next email is the the Irish consumer rights organisation.

Unable to renew my plan(deliberately).

I have a €10 recurring plan, and I made sure to turn on auto-renewal. The day before my first auto-renewal, I received a message from Lyca stating that they wouldn’t be able to process it due to a payment failure. I had already added my card, checked everything, and ensured there was enough balance on it. I wanted to resolve this issue, which was clearly caused by Lyca, before my plan and service expired. The Lyca help chat service didn’t connect me with an agent, and I couldn’t call their number as I’m currently abroad. So, I wrote an email to them yesterday about the auto-renewal failure message, but I haven’t heard back yet. Today, I received another message saying I’ve chosen not to renew the plan. It’s extremely frustrating that the system appears to have deliberately removed my plan. I’m now left without any active service. Please investigate this matter and provide a resolution as soon as possible.
