I had a great experience

I had a great experience. Numerous other places I called all had answering machine, which is stupid, bc when they finally decide to call I might miss it and all this phone tag is ridiculous. This place actually had a real person answer immediately, she scheduled everything quickly and efficiently. My therapist Geena is also very good, attentive and straight forward, which works perfect for me. So far Im very happy with this practice.

Garbage and Nonsense

Tele appointments don't work well (due to technical difficulties on their end). Doctors are always late, and as soon as he/she senses/sees/feels a technical difficulty (online) they're gone. Administration acts as if it's no big deal if an appointment needs to be rescheduled due to their own inadequacies. I wish I could end on a positive note; however, I can't think of anything positive about them.

Lifestance has no clue what they are…

Lifestance has no clue what they are doing. Cancel appointments day of, never return phone calls regarding medication. The psych NP was a nice lady, but she works for such a horribly mismanaged company. I'm looking to move on from here for sure. Also your doctor is impossible to get through the gatekeepers to speak with.

So far I have had good experiences.

I love talking with Diann. I feel like I connect with her and look forward to our visits. I had an in house visit a week ago with Dr Naaum. I've only talked with her a couple times but was nice meeting her in person. I like Zoom but prefer to see in person, however I live a distance away so it's nice Zoom is available.

Be extremely careful

Be extremely careful! Even if you tell them in advance you're going to miss the appt but am fine with being charged, they'll hit you with a $150 "no show" bill. People with severe mental issues come to see a psychiatrist so there should be some leeway especially if it's the first time. It feels like stealing candy from a baby! If you use this service, make sure to do it with a supportive person who will help follow up. Also this is strictly online which doesn't feel the same as being in person but they do accept most insurances. My psychiatrist was kind and knowledgeable and it was a pleasure working with him.

Left confused and 😯 stunned.

New to therapy so I was unfamiliar with website use. I had no help with how to get to patient portal or joining a room. They have improved how to get to the waiting room. I was told I could book online appointments but their website rejected all attempts. It said book appointment through the office. I saw two therapists here at Lifestance. First one wanted to be my friend and was disagreeable about how I dressed, lack of makeup, my hairdo, everything. Not a great start and I didn't get to say hello yet. 8 sessions later she was screaming at me for slow progress. I stopped seeing her. Second I tried a male this time. He was engaging and very good at his job. He pushed me to hard and now I'm suffering from depression. They both have a common theme of Gain your trust Assessing the problem Yelling when I was progressing slowly.

I hate having to make an appointment every time I need a refill. Now they aren’t allowing me to sign in for my appointment and no one is answering the phone. I’ll rather go insane than to deal with these people

BE AWARE This business is totally DISHONEST

As I searched for a psychiatrist, this was an option that had an earlier appointment than other offices. The first person who answered the phone after 20 minutes hold didn’t know how to answer any basic questions . Called again and got a reasonable person to make an appointment but in order to make an appointment they asked for a credit card number. She said we’ll send you a form online to fill out. I didn’t receive any so I called again and finally I received the form which was longest weirdest and quackery form I have ever seen. As it went further it got scary Because their list of charges you might receive and it was a LONG LIST For example requesting refills $125.00 cancellations $…. AT this point I got the feeling I would be trapped in a dishonest , untrustworthy scam business.. I called and asked a rude useless customer service that I would like to know how much my 20 percent co-pay would be. Useless person said probably $200 to $400 . I felt she was way too off the charts. Asked for manager, didn’t call me back after I asked for the director then their manager picked up the call. She didn’t know either how much I have to pay and said it depends how much doctor will charge. Explained to her any doctor has set time and set visits fee . But she was mumbling something. At this point I was sure they are corrupted business and as other reviewers mentioned probably they cancel the appointment themselves and charge you for cancellation, or will surprise you with lies and nonexistent charges. I will report them to the board of psychiatrists as a dishonest and tricky scam business. DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS.

I found LifeStance through my insurance…

I found LifeStance through my insurance and made a telehealth appoint with a psychiatrist. They never sent me a link to join the appointment and the link wasn't in my portal, which I would have expected from a normal/legit company. I didn't realize it until about 10 minutes before my appointment so I called to get the link. I was put on hold for over 15 minutes so I called back and was then hung up on. I had to call again and after about another 20 minutes I was finally given a link to join and speak to my provider. She had me do an assessment and then told me that I had to spend $150 out of pocket to take another/deeper assessment. What a giant waste of time.

Dr unreliable, unreachable, unresponsive

I have had ups and downs with Lifestance. I was struggling for months to get my diagnosis when the psychologist I was assigned had me jump through a thousand hoops only to get told my symptoms were "too mild" for medication (they are not) (this decision was made after only an IQ test and two questionnaires, and my partner's questionnaire was weighed more heavily than my own). I broke down to the psychologist and after actually being able to explain my symptoms, he finally, finally agreed to get me in touch with a prescribing Dr. I didn't love my Dr, I felt like she was only half-listening to me, but I grit my teeth and sucked it up to get the medication I needed that greatly improved my quality of life. But now... With my medications experiencing a shortage, I called local pharmacies and found one that carried my medication. I called and messaged the office MULTIPLE TIMES to move my script over and it took a solid week to get any kind of response, and only after explaining my situation in a frustrated tone to support staff today was I able to get any kind of help. A WEEK IN. It was apparent to the staff assisting me today that my psych was not responding to my messages, and I was not able to get in touch with her directly (no direct line to the Drs? For mental health concerns? Seriously?). Then, my psych tells me she sent the prescription... but she sent the wrong prescription to the new pharmacy, under the impression that my usual prescription is "out of stock everywhere". I informed her that I had called the pharmacy and they confirmed that they had my usual medication in stock, and to please send a script for that specific medication. Finally, after calling back and forth with the Lifestance office and my new pharmacy all day, I finally got my medication. After a week of struggling to get in touch with my Dr. I was also experiencing difficulty with the office's automated text message system. When a prescription is filled, you get an automated text with a link to a website that tells you what was filled and where. Every time this happened, the website said the script was filled at my previous pharmacy... leading me to believe that the script was not sent to the correct place. The online portal/telehealth stuff is clunky at best and a detriment to patient care at worst, the Dr was unresponsive and communicated poorly with me both in appointments and outside, and my only saving grace was the wonderful staff member, Kim, who was so kind and helpful to me today as I was breaking down in tears over the phone in frustration. Having ADHD then jumping through multiple hoops to get a diagnosis, medication, and continuing that medication during government-mandated shortages is hard enough. The professionals I have seen so far made it hell to get the care that I needed and now that's two for two on healthcare providers that made me feel unheard at best, ignored or brushed off at worst. Safe to say I will be seeking out a new prescribing Dr, as the support staff are being very helpful in finding me someone else, even offering to see someone tomorrow (I work full time and cannot get the time off, unfortunately). If this second Dr doesn't work out, I'll be seeking care elsewhere. I would give one star, but I'm giving a whole star just for Kim. She saved me today when I was about to break down over the phone just trying to get my medications so I can live instead of survive.

I am spending more time sorting out Billing than the therapy itself. I only had 1 session and my therapist wanted to schedule my next appt and spent time telling me how long it would take to help me.

Inefficient and impersonal Intake Process

The intake process is awful. If you call they try to push you online but you can’t actually book a new patient appt online and then have to wait for a callback to go through a verbal intake process. When I finally connect with a human, I find out that the therapist that I had wanted to book with was not actually taking new patients despite the website stating she was available. When I asked who was available they stated they can’t tell me without going through the full intake process. I had done my research before calling and knew who I wanted to work with so this was frustrating. She then proceeded to ask for info that I already provided online and stated she couldn’t access my info. The next questions was what do you want help with anxiety, depression…as if you already have been diagnosed. The intake process is impersonal and not patient friendly. The service person was lacking in empathy and people skills. I did not move forward with the process, it did not feel like a good fit based on how they treat new patients. I will search for an individual provider where the patient is treated like an individual.

Money Motivated Period!

I submitted all & every form e-mailed to me. The biggest concern is how they are getting paid! I have excellent insurance, every call I get is only concerned how they will get paid not my mental health. Now My appointment has been cancelled claiming I did not answer their insurance forms, NOT TRUE! Every call has a rude person not listening to my concerns but needing my insurance information. Whay a horrible experience dealing with LIFESTANCE!

Think twice about scheduling here

Think twice about scheduling here. I very rarely write negative reviews, but I must warn others regarding this life stance website. I was given a Doctor Who supposedly takes my insurance . I even asked Dr. Aponte before we started my appointment. She told me not to worry. Now I just find out after two visits, My claims were denied. Good luck trying to get a hold of somebody because it’s impossible. Most communication is done online and usually don’t get a response till the next day, which is very inconvenient. You don’t even get a direct number for your doctor, which is even worse. I’ve made so many calls to LS and get a different answer every time I call. I was charged for 3 co-pays for only 2 visits and was told because they “discussed medication” . I never heard of such a thing?? After being put on medication, I have to wait until this is resolved or quickly find another doctor so I don’t have to stop medication. Please avoid this place really bad experience. As per your response, I sent an email weeks ago and still, nobody got back to me I went on my patient portal and I literally sent 50 messages to you regarding my coverage which is still declined I sent two emails as per your advice and still no response. I think you just tell everybody to email.

Horrible customer service

My first time experience with this company was horrible. The front desk receptionist were very rude over the phone, there is lack of empathy for the patients. I had to call multiple times in order to get my documents completed and it felt like I had to chase down the doctor to contact him, regarding my documents.

LifeStance - Dr. Raminiei

I have been a patient for over 10 when my years. I am bipolar. Dr. Ramineni. She is very professional. I always do telehealth visits. If I forget to make my appoints through the website she has her office call me. She also has her office call me ahead of time to reschedule if she is having any technology problems. She was excellent in also getting me counseling help after my daughter committed suicide. She always asks what I have been doing and how my family is doing. She is a really concerned person and is will to adjust or change my medications as my circumstances. She works closely with my primary care doctor to review all my medications and illness. I highly recommend Dr. Raminiei and LifeStance Health.

UPDATE

UPDATE: Still have not heard back from LifeStance concerning the bill, despite responding immediately to an email asking which city I was in so they could direct the correct person to help me. Though I have appreciated their clinicians, they clearly have major work to do on their customer service and billing! I will believe they want to help when they actually do something!
