Help with dealing with grief

I am very happy with my grief counselor, Claudia. I feel she really listens and gives me good advice that I have been able to incorporate into my daily life. It was very easy to get an appointment- the office staff was very helpful.

If I could do a negative star review I would. Whatever you do. Do not go through this agency for any services. Very dissatisfied with services, customer service, responsiveness and dishonesty. Do better.

Incompetent…

I had one appointment that the receptionist said was a consult with no charge. They scheduled a second appointment but I decided not to continue so cancelled the second appt 1 week before the appointment. I also spoke to someone on the phone 24 hours before the appointment to verify the appt was cancelled. They continue to send notices that I have an outstanding balance. If they report this on my credit record, I will file a lawsuit against them. I have now tried to call them to discuss this and at present have been on hold fort 25 minutes. Their recording says to leave my number and they will call back but I have a lot going on and am unavailable to take a call that occurs when they get around to it.

Low integrity industry. I should have taken the reviews of this company seriously.

I had issues with the autopay system taking $103.94 when I paid everything I owed when I saw I had a payment on the portal. I was at $0 before March 1st. I got a automated text message saying my remaining total of $103.94 would be drafted on the first. I ignored it because I paid that exact balance off in two payments ( one on 2/24 and the other on 2/28). The overpayment went into effect on the first and it showed $-103.94 on my profile showing an overpayment. Well, I guess my overpaying the $103.94 was really just a security deposit until my insurance cleared. Actually, I will be getting a whopping $15 back that will take about two weeks to be credited back to my account, not to mention the overdraft happened promptly between 7am-8am on a Saturday, a non business day for them. Why can I be afforded that same urgency when getting my money back???That's neither here nor there, so either I'm paying for expensive benefits for no reason or therapy is a rip off, or both! Roughly $250 for one session therapy? I called once before asking about the original payment of $146.69 because I wanted to understand why it was so much. The specialist that I spoke to at that time last month explained to me that it's until my insurance clears, but it shouldn't exceed $150 and the reason it was so high was because I didn't meet my deductible. So that was a dishonest statement. My insurance did clear and they reviewed my complaint with lifestance. I was told by my insurance that I was falsely charged and I have proof. I'm owed about $123. I understand therapy is an elective and I chose to do this, but I feel so ripped off and should have done better research. I didn't feel like I got much from my therapist, Kim Nelson, and felt like she truly didn't understand my issue. I had taken the time to write out talking points that I hoped we could address and we didn't cover any of them, just basic statements made that I could have told myself. I feel like I got more out of talking to strangers on the street. It's like she was steering the therapy in a direction I didn't need it to go. I was trying to be nice and trust the authority figure here and get something from it, but I didn't feel like my problem was being addressed. If anything I got out of this is that I should just trust my own mind from here on out. I feel like these therapists only want to draw out treatment to make a buck. I don't feel like the cost and stress that followed the therapy was justified. I went in to get help not to be more stressed out about payment and feeling a sense of lackluster about the whole experience when I feel I did my part in addressing my issue specifically. The billing specialist, I just recently spoke to, Heidi, was awesome. Give her a raise. This review is not for her, but for the ethics surrounding payment.

The person that answers the phone is…

The person that answers the phone is very rude, lacks respect or courtesy, and is very impolite; I feel as if they are not concerned if you book your appointment or not; they have no empathy for there patients. I ask if my therapist is back from her 3 months of vaction; she said no, but never as if I would like to schedule a visit with someone else. She only wanted me to get off her phone line. I've been the lifestance for over 10 years; I have never encountered such a miss managed business. No matter what time you call, your going to get there long, annoying voice service

I have zero complaints!

I've had nothing but a great experience with lifestance more specifically my therapist Julie O'Neil of Delaware. This woman has help me and continues to help me more than I could put in words. She's relatable, understanding, compassionate, and professional above all. I was very standoffish starting therapy and she didn't dismiss me she helped me connect with a psychiatrist to get me the correct medication which has changed my life. I look forward to continue this journey with someone who makes you feel unjudged in a safe space who wants nothing but the best for her patients thank you Julie.

New patient.

I am fairly new with only 3 appointments. I can say I have had a positive experience so far with Sara Taylor as my therapist. She is attentive, caring, and, trustworthy. I feel very comfortable talking to her. I prefer seeing her in person, but am happy to know I could speak to her virtually if needed. I recommend, Sara Taylor if you are looking for a therapist. I like the fact I receive text reminders of my upcoming appointments and also virtual check in. This is extremely useful.

Reviewing a medical facility is odd

Reviewing a medical facility is odd. There is a standard that should be met and we shouldn’t have to worry about ‘reviewing’ them. But that’s not the reality of our dystopian capitalist nightmare healthcare system. That being said, lol, this place has been great for me for half a decade now. My doctor has been absolutely fantastic, warm, empathetic and supportive. They always reach out with reminders and respond quickly to questions/messages. I’ve never been happier with a mental healthcare provider! Sincerely. They’re pretty solid!

Thank you Lifestance for giving me the tools I needed to learn

I have been taught tools that have helped me manage the stress that family dynamics sometimes bring. I've learned how to not make my personal feelings, anxiety and self worth get wrapped up in other people's choices. It's still a struggle sometimes but I have the tools to help me manage my feelings and feel more in control of myself while being less controlling of a situation. Thank you Lifestance for connecting me with the right people!

Fraudulent or incompetent billing

I can’t tell if the billing team is incompetent or fraudulent. I could go on and on about the unproductive back and forth I’ve had with them, but to sum it up, they’re billing me over $1600 for visits that were 100% covered by my insurance. Some of these visits are ones that were already billed to my previous insurance and they still haven’t updated the bill to just have my copays. Some of them they’re claiming that my new (BCBS PPO) insurance won’t cover even though I have an EOB showing that my insurance covered them. They also won’t update my address no matter how many times I tell them to fix it. Horrible experience with the billing department. If you already have a provider don’t switch to LifeStance. They’ve gone downhill since changing from PCPASF

Just a money grab

All that happened in the first session was the provider asked a few questions and then explained I'd need an in person appointment, an appointment for them to talk to one of my friends or family, and then an evaluation. The whole reason I wanted telehealth because there's not a provider near me that I wanted to see. LifeStance is 5 hours away from me, an in person is not reasonable. I was charged for a 16-60 minute appt and then I knew he was kind of dragging things out to try and meet the 16 minute minimum for billing. They charged my insurance over $700. I paid my $70, then I get another bill for $260. They seriously want me to pay over $300 for a useless appointment. No.

Dr Frye is a good psychiatrist.

Dr. Frye goes over my meds for depression. We reviewed side effects. We discussed getting off one of meds because of a side effect. He explained how to go about doing that. Dr Frye is always patient and thorough.

I can't say enough about my provider

I can't say enough about my provider, Deb. I am so happy I found her. It is so easy to talk with someone who you know genuinely cares about what you have to say. I had one little issue with the system but it was not bad enough to change my rating.
