Lost Crate

Ordered two crates(May and June), the May crate shipped out on April 20th and still has not arrived to Canada 9 weeks later. About a week ago I had received an email saying the crate had gone through a routine customs check and would take an additional two weeks potentially. One week after that I received a phone call from DHL in a foreign language after starting the message in English saying that this was the 'final warning'. I assume this is about my crate, Japan Crate does not provide any tracking information(despite charging extra for shipping) and is largely unresponsive to contact so I am not sure if I will ever receive my crates. Perhaps they would have been a little better during pre-pandemic times but I will definitely be cancelling my subscription.

Purchased two crates, almost 3 complete months have passed, havent received them

Purchased two crates, one in March, the other in April, it is now June and haven't received neither. Normally they say the crates arrive after 4 weeks, 6 maximum, but because of the global pandemic March (april crates sent in march) crates were returned to the sender and they had to ship them again with another courier. In a mail they wrote to us "The bad news is that we will need to charge you an extra fee, the good news is that you will get it faster and get a tracking number" Apparently that was a lie because im still waiting for my tracking number and my crate and they still charged the "shipping fee". April crate (may crates sent in april) got a random custom check apparently and that delayed them for a month apparently, they still charged that extra "faster, tracking number shipping" fee. Their support team answered almost instantly when I had doubts before ordering, now that Im asking about my crates they answer after a week with a generic "we are sorry, your crates are coming" I want to think that I had bad luck and the crates are received faster in normal conditions, I wouldn't recommend buying at the moment, if I receive my crates and the products are worth the wait I would change my review but not at this moment. Edit: June 29 has ended and didn´t receive any crate nor mail responses Update July 7th: Received a mail some days ago where they say that they suspect the crates were lost in transit and they refunded my money, if the crates happen to arrive I can keep them. Changing my rating to 3 stars because they refunded

Ordered the Doki Doki crate in April

Ordered the Doki Doki crate in April. It still has not arrived and their own shipping tracking link, which THEY FINALLY SENT ME YESTERDAY has still not arrived, so I emailed them yesterday. I also mentioned that I had cancelled (at least I thought I had) because I didn't receive it. They didn't mention a single thing about my subscription being still active and then i got charged today again. when i emailed them they were like well you should have cancelled - I THOUGHT I DID, you jerks. You intentionally design your site to be misleading as to whether you've cancelled. GO JUMP OFF A CLIFF as I'm sure now I'm out $100 for things i never got. I hope you die in a fire.

Japan Crate doesn't care about April's crates or you

I have a love-hate relationship with Japan Crates services, but April crates shipping crap is end of my relationship with them. I had used them in the past and I found their snack crate and noodle crate to be enjoyable. I did stop for a long time because their doki doki crate was mostly filled with bootlegs/aliexpress crap. Even when they moved everything to Japan, the boxes was still filled with generic aliexpress junk. So I been subscribe to their gacha crate, but decided to cancelled my subscription because I wasn't interested in April's crate. I decided to instead subscribe to their noodle crate as a gift to my boyfriend. First of all they reactivate my gacha crate without me knowing and I didn't find out until I got the extra shipping charge. Never saw an email about getting that subscription renewed or anything. If you know how their website is designed, especially on mobile, it's very deceptive on if your subscription was actually cancelled. But like a lot of people here, I had both of my April's crates shipped back due to Japan Post suspending SAL shipping services. Japan Crate had the nerve to force people to pay additional shipping fees to have their crates reshipped that wasn't the customers fault. There was no option for a refund or any offer to hold these crates. No, force charged on everyone account because Japan Crate claims to be a small business. Yeah that's right. Probably the largest Japanese based subscriptions service out there that offers 6 DIFFERENT crates and ships internationally everywhere. But we small business. So it was 5 dollar extra to reshipped each crate with the promised that it would included tracking and shipping would take 1 to 2 weeks. So I let it go, figured get my crates and be done with them. I honestly didn't want them anymore at that point, but if I was getting them quick, I was okay with that. Two weeks later I get an email saying my crates were reshipped and there was not tracking and that shipping was going to take 2 to 4 weeks instead. Wut Weeks went by and no crates. After 5 weeks I contacted them asking why was shipping slower than it was initially stated and why I was charged additional for shipping when I was getting the same speed of delivery. They totally gloss over my questions and just told me it was in transit. I started seeing other people complain and some were saying now they was being told it wasn't coming until mid June to late July. They even removed the part on their FAQ on their website saying it was only taking 2 to 4 weeks. I soon realized that Japan crate has took everyone crates and shipped it surface mail. If you don't know what surface mail is, it just putting your stuff on a boat and letting it slowly go across the ocean. It usually takes about 3 months to get from Japan to the west coast of the US. Japan Post is still offering surface mail as well as DHL and other boat based shipping companies. You guys need to be angry about this. Everyone has been forced to pay extra for shipping that taking months and probably only cost 50 cents per kg to shipped. And the fact that Japan Crate is trying to cover all of this up is disgusting. They been deleting posts and avoiding questions about it. They are screwing over paying existing customers. The YouTube influencers had no problem getting their April's crate because they just care about getting more subscriptions and thus more money. I highly encourage everyone to do a chargeback if you haven't received your crates. I did and my credit card had no problem getting my money back. Japan Crate is lying and just been straight up scummy to its customers and people need to not be okay about. Don't let stupid plebs defend this company. As of today writing this review in June 17th, I have yet to received any of my crates.

SCAM!!!!

SCAM!!!!! Seriously don’t do it. I ordered 3 boxes and at $40 each ($35 per box and $5 shipping) to come MONTHLY (April, May and June) I have only received my MARCH box and I just got it in JUNE 3 months later!!! My other two are MIA. The company takes zero responsibility saying it’s not their fault it takes so long to ship (which is untrue) I am shipping constantly to Japan, China and the Philippines and it Should take 2-3 weeks TOPS AND THATS WITH SNAIL MAIL. So idk what japancrate is doing to ours. Furthermore almost all the items in the box are produced by LOTTI or a company owned by lotti— which if you didn’t know you’d have no idea that, that’s actually a SOUTH KOREAN BRAND PRODUCING SOUTH KOREAN SNACKS. So they’re aren’t even Japanese snacks!!! You have to pay $100s upfront to MAYBE get a box many months later, and surprise surprise THEYRE NOT EVEN JAPANESE SNACKS!!!!!!

Took quite a while, but I got all I was hoping for

They took quite a while and a few contacts with customer support to deliver the premium april and may crate (got them today mid july) but the premium july crate got here just in time. The quality and variety of the crates are good, sadly I just got one crate in the japan crate carton box out of four crates total, the others where ordinary boxes. Overall it's a nice option to get a seasonal collection of sweets.

Disappointed with this subscription box

I had two boxes shipped out on April 20th, and it's now been about 7 weeks and still no sign of either crate. There is no tracking number so I have no idea if I'll ever get them. I emailed them asking for a refund and they responded a few days later with a copy-pasted message that didn't address my refund and just told me to wait another undetermined number of weeks. Since they refused to give a refund and my time to dispute the charges with my bank is coming very near, chances are that I will need to dispute the charges. I understand there is a pandemic occurring, but I've ordered many things from other companies and had them arrive more promptly. At a minimum, I had a tracking number so I knew where the package was at any given time, and other companies accurately estimated when packages would arrive. What's worse, Japancrate stated that they changed shipping companies and therefore would need to begin charging for shipping, but the benefit is that this new shipping company should be quicker than before and the crate should arrive in something like 2-4 weeks. They have since removed that comment from the website as it seems that was inaccurate, and now have no justification for the shipping cost. If you look at the Facebook page, lots of people share similar concerns and are asking about the whereabouts of their April, May, and June crates. If I actually receive the items, I may bump up this review if I really like the boxes. But considering how poorly they've handled shipping and customer service concerns, I still would probably not give them above a 2/5 or 3/5 at the most. Edit: My kira kira crate just arrived, 53 days after it shipped. It has two tracking numbers on the package (one is DHL, one is USPS), so I still do not know why Japancrate did not provide me any tracking information. All of the products I recieved seemed cheap and like stuff I could get at a Japanese dollar store. Most were made in China and the quality was poor, especially for the makeup products. One lip palette had such little pigment that even the darkest shade showed no color when on my lips. Some of them are very confusing to use and there is no English instructions included. My second box in shipment was the Japancrate premium. I hope this box has better quality products, and will likely update my review once more if/when it arrives. Edit 2: This is my last edit. The japancrate showed up about 1 week ago. Although they advertise full size snacks, lots of the snacks were bite-sized or seemed like they belonged in a pack of many candies instead of one individually wrapped snack. The food itself was okay, but it did not feel worth the price nor the wait. It seems I will not be changing my rating for this review.

This company is a SCAM!!

This company is a SCAM!!! Zero customer service... I prepaid 6 months upfront, and the noodles you get arnt even that good! They arnt fancy ones like the pics show... also after prepaying first 6 months, I got the first 3, then they started taking money out of my account unauthorized, straight up THEFT. My prepaid six months arnt even done yet?!?! Then ontop of that, when I reached out to them and told them to stop charging my card, and “took my card off the account”, they started taken even more!!! And they stopped sending out my boxes!! They owe me 3 months boxes and another roughly $240.00 .... we have to cancel our credit card and get a new one cause this stupid company keeps taking money they have no buisness taking!!!

They asked me for more money so THEY could ship

I ordered in March for the one time box. Then i got the email about the package being delayed. THEN they charged me again for a subscription i didn't agree to. So then I had to log into japan crate and change my subscription of which i never agreed to. The other day i got a email asking for more money so they can ship my package soon. Im assuming four months late im never receiving these boxes.

Wish it would let me put 0 stars

Wish it would let me put 0 stars. Long story short, they ripped me off. I ordered a 1 time deal japan crate. They even stated it was a one time deal. No fine print, no nothing. Even received an email stating our subscription had ended after our order was completed. Then comes the fun part. Was just charged a SECOND time, for another box. I STILL HAVENT GOT THE FIRST ONE, and they want to charge me for another. Its been well over a month. Almost 2 since we ordered. And when i message them on facebook. They blocked me.... Hope no one shops w these crooks!

Do not order through Sugoi Mart

Since Sugoi Mart does not have it's own page, I'm including a review for it here as it is the shop portion of Japan Crates brand (where you can buy all the snacks they include in boxes and more) and I believe it reflects on them as a brand, especially based on other reviews I'm seeing here. They don't care about their customers and will happily lie, mislead them and make their lives more difficult. I made two orders a few days apart at the beginning of May, one with Saver shipping and one few days later with DHL shipping because Saver was no longer available. The DHL shipping is more expensive so I made sure to carefully curate my order so that it would make that shipping cost worthwhile. A few days after my second order I got a notification that one of the items from my first order had gone out of stock and that they would be refunding me and that the order has shipped. This bothered me a bit because I don't like that they do not give you a chance to cancel or adjust orders when an item goes out of stock and instead change it without your permission, but it was a small item so I didn't think much of it. That same day I got an email from DHL about my order shipping... for the order I made with Saver shipping... Weird but I guessed they must have just had to switch the shipping because of Japan's Post closing down. Again, didn't think much of it. Then I got an email that I owed DHL 18 CAD for this order??? I investigated, thinking this was way too high to be duties or taxes and I was right, it was neither, it was additional fees that DHL applies to all orders coming into Canada over 20 CAD. Sugoi Mart's website says NOTHING about additional shipping fees, only suggests that you may have to pay duties or taxes. But more importantly, I didn't even select DHL for this order, Sugoi Mart switched it. Then I got a notification that one of the items on the second order went out of stock and that that order shipped. So now I'm wasting money on that expensive shipping because I'm getting fewer items in this order AND I realize I'm going to have to pay another 18 on this order. I emailed DHL to complain about these additional fees as they are not listed on Sugoi Mart's Website and they tell me that it's on Sugoi Mart to list them and that I should ask them to reimburse me. So I emailed Sugoi Mart and first they tried to tell me that it's duties (its not) then told me they'd never head of these fees and asked for an invoice, which I sent. Didn't hear anything from them for over a week and when they got back to me, they insisted again that it counts as duties (it doesn't). This has been the worst customer service situation I have ever dealt with. Japan Crate and their related brands do not care about their customers whatsoever.

This company does not appreciate their customers.

This company does not appreciate their customers. The box itself is fine, although their shipping can be unpredictable. The real problem lies in their customer service. The company's main means of customer outreach is social media. Unfortunately it seems that whoever they have running their social media would rather virtue signal polarizing political issues than answer customer queries, and this person/persons even had the audacity to publicly complain about people asking customer service questions on their social media business pages because of this. It's bad customer service, especially in the middle of a pandemic where they are lucky to still have people spending money on something so frivolous as a snack box.

JAPAN CRATE IS A SCAM

JAPAN CRATE IS A SCAM! STAY AWAY! - Japan Crate automatically activate my account - was on hold due do Coronavirus situation - Charged my PayPal with additional shipping saying it will be for good and my box will be delivered fast and with tracking number (DHL) - Send them e-mail because they reactivate my account without permission. They didn't answer e-mails when there is a problem. More than 1,5 Months from my first e-mail I still don't have any answer - It is not normal even in a pandemic time!!! - And I didn't receive any box...or tracking number - I opened a case in PayPal - Japan Crate showed false document that I have received the box!!!! I couldn't believed!!! STAY AWAY, PLEASE! Three months everything was fine, but they showed their face when there is a problem!

Worst service ever

Worst service ever, after 2 months i have placed the order they still not shipped my crate and they don't want to issue me a full refund. They gave me 2 DHL tracking numbers on 21 May that shows "Shipment Information Received" and on email they said: "We shipped your crate 2 weeks ago, please wait". Don't place an order, you will be in my situation.

Quality brand named japan crate

The wait was long sure. In the end it was worth it because majority of the candies hit especially the monster gum and the sour cola gummy. The sweet salty chips were just mmm. I highly recommend japan crate to anyone who wants some quality candies from japan. The wait time for delivery is the only thing that I could say that’s bad.

I wanna say that I got the Doki Doki crate but…

I wanna say that I got the Doki Doki crate but the reality is that I'm still waiting on my May and April crate. The crates are not cheap but when you are then not even getting your crates it is just a big waste of your money. If you wanna have some stuff from China/Japan go to wish.com at least they have better and faster customer service.
