No Support, No Crates, No Refund, No Good.

Definitely do not recommend. There are other snack boxes out there that actually have some form of customer service. After subscribing in late March, paying for 2 crates, and attempting to contact customer support since April 2nd about various issues (I didn't spam tickets/messages), I have yet to receive a single response. Also haven't received either crate. I received several mass email updates about shipping, but none of them have been helpful in my situation. I understand that with the global pandemic, things are crazy right now. However, customer support has literally been non-existent and some of their methods have been shady. I was charged an extra fee for both crates to be shipped priority/DHL, which was fine.I received an email stating the May crate was given to DHL, and I would receive a tracking number in 5-7 business days. It has been 26 days at this point, and I have not received a tracking number. I received another email saying my April crate was rejected by DHL, because my zip code is a "remote" location, which cannot be correct. I live very close to a major DHL hub, I always receive DHL packages without issue (even during this pandemic), and it makes no sense for one box to be accepted and the other rejected when the address is exactly the same for both. Why would May be accepted but not April? Makes no sense. I received a snack box from another company via DHL last week with no issues. Was shipped from Tokyo on a Friday and arrived the following Monday. I honestly don't think they even attempted to ship my April box with DHL in the first place. My April crate was then shipped via surface mail without tracking, which I did NOT want to happen due to Italian customs being a nightmare. Was never given any notice or a choice, just an email saying they already shipped it. The email stated I would receive a refund for my shipping charge within 3-5 business days. It has been 24 days, no refund. I tried reaching out on Facebook and was told that support is busy. Was later told they pinged support, but that was over 2 weeks ago, still no answer. Save yourself the trouble and get a different crate. There are lots to choose from.

As other write they charged me 32 dollars for two box that they decided to send without my authorization . My account was on hold due to the pandemia but they decide to reactivate it anche charge me the costs for extra shipping. Then I got two emails that they will not ship with DHL and they will send me back the money if the spedition (20 days no refunds till now). No answers to the tickets in more then one month.. Now they are canceling also my facebook post. Stay away they are stealing money from your credit cards without your authorization

The WORST Customer Service

I received my April Crate on time and was originally very happy. A few weeks later I get an email saying that my April crate has been sent back to them and that I need to pay extra shipping to get it sent out. Obviously this was a mistake, so I sent them an email on the same day saying that I already had my crate. Instead, they ignored it and took money out of my bank account anyway to cover a package that I already have. 4 weeks later, I get a reply email that has nothing to do with my issue, and is a blanket statement regarding delayed April crates. They have ignored me and they have taken my money, even though I do not owe them anything. This clearly shows me that Japan Crate do not care about resolving customers issues. If they have people that are able to continuously update their social media that advertises their products, then they can surely dedicate a bit more time to helping current customers.

Steer Clear; Trust Me

This place is a scam, avoid them at all cost. The current crisis reveals how the company responds to adversity and it is not good. They are lying and cheating people out of money to stay in business. They changed shipping providers and now started charging for shipping. That is perfectly fine to do but they advertised that it was faster and that was their justification for the increased cost. They have since redacted the statement that it was faster (since it is not) and have no new justification for the increased cost. They also charged people shipping on past orders and those who prepaid before the shipping policy was implemented. Their shipping is advertised to be 2-4 weeks. It has been 8 weeks and still nothing. Customer service responds slowly and refuses to give refunds. I had to dispute the charge with my bank to get my money back. All their support says is to keep waiting due to Virus Delays. Mail may be a little delayed but I assure you it isn’t 8 weeks delayed. I have received packages from other retailers with no issue. If you’re on the fence about subscribing with Japan Crate, save yourself the headache and do not. Trust me.

I had an issue with my subscription and customer service replied back very fast about my concerns. Joshua, from customer service, replied back in less than 20 minutes of my email and fixed the issue very quickly. Thank you very much! :)

Horrible company

I made a one time order as a gift and they still auto charged me for the April box, contacted them and they said they couldn’t do anything about it so I decided fine I’ll just do that box. Well that box still has yet to come and they tried charging me money to ship it, I refused and they said they would ship it immediately. That was more than a month ago and it has yet to come in. They do not answer to any emails. Super shady and terrible customer service. Do not waste your money, not worth it!

Wasn't impressed with the DokiDokiCrate…

Wasn't impressed with the DokiDokiCrate at all, was supposed to get a guaranteed gift with a code and I never got this gift. When I brought it up to support they said I didn't use it when I even stated what code I used at the time (which wasn't even on their social media anymore). Box was obviously 2 months late but I was patient but feel ripped off by the service provided. When I asked for a refund obviously I couldn't get one even though they knew I didn't feel like the box was worth it without the gift that had made me want to sign up for one crate in the first place. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone it's just a scam.

THIS IS A SCAM

This is the worst company that has ever existed it is a scam. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE. I I ordered a 3 month as a gift and did not notice the renewal subscription. I requested to cancel less then 12 hours from when i received the e-mail that it renewed they WILL NOT CANCEL IT even during this time of a pandemic when there are health and financial concerns going on. I said that I DO NOT WANT any boxes shipped and they shipped one anyways after refusing to cancel the charge and there is a bot responding via e-mail. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, and no one to speak to about any of your issues. There was no expense at all on their part to cancel the subscription and not ship the boxes and they refuse to refund the card or answer any of my questions. This is one of the most disgusting companies that needs to be SHUT DOWN. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS WEBSITE AND CONTINUE TO FUEL DISGUSTING PEOPLE.

Bad experience bad company

What kind of company takes a month to send you a box then proceeds to charge you 5 dollars when the boxes are held in a warehouse. What difference does it make to charge 5 dollars? Seems like its gonna take another month for this box to come in. They are an awful company and the april box should just be called the june box or the never gonna come box. It seems like a dumb idea to ship straight from japan if everything is going to take longer not to mention they dont provide a tracking number. I just hope I dont get anymore auto charges from them because they dont let you delete your payment information. Update: It's been 3 weeks since they said shipping was updated and I still haven't gotten my box yet. Why did I get charged 5 dollars for? A scam? Honestly my husband has been using universal yums and in the time it takes this ridiculous company to ship one box we already recieved our april and may box from universal yums. They also provide you with a tracking number unlike japancrate. Update: Recieved my april box which I ordered march 3rd two days ago on june 15. Some of the stuff was melted and crumbled. The soda was flat. I imagine it's been shook so much the carbonation left the bottle. The snacks that weren't ruined were mediocre to bad. Especially the kit kats. Those were really bad. They tasted like fermented rice. I know its sake sakura flavor but that's a bad combination. I gave them away and no one liked them. I also didnt like the gum they put in since I find gum to not be real candy. The flavor was good i just hate gum. The only good thing were those green small candies with sakura cream stuffed in them and the small cookies with the pink sakura and the pineapple taffy. Even then those were the ones that were crumbled and melted. The chocolate was just awful it tasted like chocolate flakes cereal baked together. They sent me a 8 dollar coupon for items from sugoimart but shipping is 25 dollars for 4 small items. This company was just not for me and not to my liking.

Scammy - Beware

I bought a 3 month supply and they will automatically renew your subscription when you did not ask for one. Even though there is fine print that says they can autorenew, it is unethical and they are counting on people not knowing that so they can rob you. They messed up my March 2020 crate, it was damaged and most of the items were missing. So instead of sending me a free replacement box, they took out $5 from my card to ship the next crate. They then charged me another $5 because it was sent back to the warehouse? So now I am paying for their mistake. The whole business is super scammy, and instead of asking the customer what they want, they just rob you of money. Every single person that I chatted with in customer service was uncaring and didn't seem to actally want to resolve my issues. Don't subscribe.

Stealing money, terrible business

I’ve ordered japan crate in the past and their customer service was always hard for me to get through to. Facebook comments, Facebook messages, support emails, everything. They never once got back to me. I made the mistake of ordering a premium March crate recently despite all that, because they are a small business and I didn’t want to hold the lack of response against them for being busy. I expected it to take a while as shipping normally takes 2-4 weeks when there’s not a quarantine. But it’s been over a month, and I just got an email stating that, without notice, all March japan crates were sent back to the facility when they were being shipped, and to re-ship them, Japan crate is automatically, without my consent, going to take more money out of my account to cover the new express shipping costs. They have no right to take my money without asking me and should offer to let customers cancel, but they will not allow that, as you have to cancel within 24 hours of placing your order, and that was over a month ago for me. So they are stealing my money without letting me cancel my crate because of a problem on their end, not mine. It’s not my responsibility to cover extra shipping when it is not my fault, and when you are forcing it on me without giving me any other option. It’s terrible customer service, and I will not put money into a small business with terrible practices
