Ordered for three months may - June, received May’s box in June and have yet to hear anything about June’s box and it is already the middle of July. These reviews say it all, these delays are terrible, poor customer service and communication, bad refund policy. I want the products I’m rightfully owed that I paid for and then I will never do business with this service again. Stay away, I’d urge anyone reading this
I just received my box today, and I’m really happy with it!!! It took around 8 weeks to arrive ( I’m guessing due to COVID) but I’m glad I waited. It was well worth it and now I get to enjoy my candy!!! I would highly recommend
Never received my order. Customer service wouldn't even reply to my emails. There's no tracking and no information on what happened to my package. They pretty much just took my money.
Stay away, scam! I am extremely disappointed with my subscriptions to both the Japan and Gacha crates. I subscribed in early February and to this date I only received: - March and April Japan Crate - March Gacha Crate Which means that I am missing: - Japan Crate: February, May and June (3 missing) - Gacha Crate: February, April, May and June (4 missing) I have contacted their support team over 2 weeks ago, with numerous requests for updates, and to this date, I still have not heard back. At this point I am simply looking to get refunds and make sure all my subscriptions are closed so I can move on to a better alternative that actually cares about their customers.
Like everyone else, i had issues with my recent crates. before covid era, i always got my crates on time and sometimes even a few days early. however, april, may, and june crates never arrived. i waited a really long time, and after a while finally i got my june crate! but at this point i contacted customer support to ask about april and may. they said that based on the information they had with tracking my old crates likely got lost, and they issued me a refund for the two missing crates. i really do love the items i received from my crates however the wait time is not ideal so i will be putting my subscription renewal on hold. i love their crates and i received great customer support. the only downside was the random charge for shipping that i wasn’t expecting but in the end i understand the huge setback with the shipments because of covid, having to pay for so much shipping twice could put a small company out of business
Never received box, waited over the amount of time it suggested. Finally got a notification to see being delivered. Then it gets resent to sender. At this point just looking for a refund. I raise a request with them on their support portal on June 16th. Only just been refunded and it is the wrong amount. Terrible service
Website advertises DHL delivery and my receipt said DHL and I paid an extra $20 for shipping and its been sent Japan Post. They refuse to refund anything or acknowledge my receipt shouldn't say DHL delivery if its not. Stay Clear and look at the other alternatives such as Bokku or Tokyo Treat at least they have learned the basics of customer service and care. First and last order Japan Crate and Umai Crate well done. 0 stars if I could.
On 4/19 I ordered the Doki Doki Crate for May. It supposedly shipped on 4/28. They said to contact them if the package is not delivered by 6/15. On 6/12, I got an email saying my package was being held up by customs and it could take another 2 weeks. Well, 6/29 came and went. I’ve contacted them several times through several channels: email, social media, etc. I kept being told to “hang in there” and that “the crates are coming.” I finally heard back a week later and was given some fishy tracking number that had no reliable tracking information, but did expose me to the fact that TONS of other subscribers were having the same exact problem. Well, today I get an email and they told me they will not give me a refund. Given everything I have experienced with them, I cannot recommend them in any way, shape or form. Their communication with consumers is awful and unreliable.
Japan Crate is a scam. I subscribed for a 6-month plan with a flat rate. After a month, they started charging additional shipping fees without my consent or approval. Additionally, they renewed the plan — again without consent or approval. I cancelled the renewal, but they refuse to give me my money back. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO. This company is unethical.
Please do not buy ANYTHING from this company! I’ve waited months for my crates and they refuse to make up for the fact that they made me pay shipping, refuse to let me know about how my products shipped, and are unapolegetic about how they borderline scam their customers! I deadass had one of their customer service reps straight up lie to me to try and keep me complacent, and another who refuses to refund me for 1 out of the three boxes i’n asking for, even though it’s a JUNE crate that won’t be arriving until AUGUST. Please go give your business to Blippo or Tokyo Treat of you want a product like this. They dont treat their customers like cash cows, especially in the middle of a pandemic. Seriously, save your money, I could have bought a Nintendo Switch with the amount of money i’ve lost to these people
I have literally gone onto every site to get their attention about my refund. I would give less than zero stars to this company if I had the option to. Its funny that their crates are supposedly "monthly" when I have been waiting 4 months for mine, and to this day it never arrived. They provide NO TRACKING and even on their website there is no history of any orders you made. Hmm.. weird right? Their customer service is the same representative with the same default email about waiting just one more month, oops sorry... one more month, etc. There are so many companies that were impacted by the pandemic and pushed their orders out within reasonable time. Do not trust this company. You are better off buying snacks from Amazon or even your local asian market. Otherwise, you'd be paying monthly for a once a year crate LOL!
ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED, it's a SCAM!!! I bought 2 boxes, for two different months, and they never came to me. I also paid the additional $ 20 postage which was mandatory, in total I spent $ 100 and never received anything. I contacted the support after 2 months, and they replied that the parcels had the couriers and that I had to wait, I waited 4 months in total, I contacted them several times to get a tracking number or info on where the parcels were, or a courier number to get information and they no longer answered me, they don't even respond to the dispute on paypal that I did to get a refund of the money.
The snacks and the box itself were fun. Once it's renewed they will NOT give you a refund which is stated in their policies. I tried to cancel my subscription before the renewal date. No one replied until my subscription got renewed. The email said my subscription was now canceled and this box would be my last. I explained that I tried to cancel BEFORE iI was subject to their policy and did not want the box. The agent handling my case repeated the policy and said she won't refund. It seemed unfair and I wanted an explanation. I emailed them a total of 4 times before the box would get shipped and have been completely ignored. I feel tricked by them. Again, I enjoyed the box, but feel how the situation was handled was unprofessional on their end. If you want to try it, sign up with Paypal.
They made a charge for 2 months and 1 aditional for 20 dollars, they never send it, never give a tracking number even when they answer my ticket saying that will give me a number, and now they don't aswer my tickets about a refund of my money.
I love the products I get in the box. I appreciate that they listened to customer complaints and upgraded the shipping. But I just don't know that the premium box is worth $45 with shipping. I guess I've never bought the products individually to know exact price point but I have to imagine that there is a decent amount of inflation. Most of the snacks are small individual candies/gum/hard candies. Although the June box was BOMB. May box was a little sad. If they included one or two addition multi-serving snack item to make up for the large cost of shipping, I may consider staying subscribed. Unfortunately, I do think that I will be unsubsribing after July and just get the box for special occasions.
Ordered a crate for my sons's birthday in June. I ordered way in advance. No tracking information. Every email I send with an inquiry does not get responded too. Oh but wait when I said I wanted to cancel they got back to me right away to say I could not cancel and they would charge me an extra month. So wonderful to now have paid for two boxes I have not received.
My Crate arrived 5 DAYS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE!!! The candy is delicious and better than expected. Cannot wait for the next box. :)
This is my favorite box on the market. I had a missing box, and no big deal because customer service sent another box out. I feel you get the value of the box, because I go check the prices. Japan snacks are pricey if you have to do shipping with a drink.
I forgot to cancel my subscription because I forgot all about it. I do not want the subscription and I will not be receiving a refund and will receive a box that I do not want. I understand that is my fault for forgetting about it but I find it ridiculous to refuse a refund and still send the box of the person does not want it and they just forgot about it.
