1-Star Review for Energy Locals Energy Locals has great customer service, but their pricing structure is borderline a scam. I was paying hundreds of dollars more per month compared to other providers... See more
Have done the maths surrounding the $13.99 subscription added to the daily supply charge = 151c/day. However, with the reduced tarrifs and extra solar FiT, I'm hoping I will come out ahead of my old providers rates. Time will tell!!
To know i am with locals
Their electricity rates are cheaper than my present provider. I will save hundreds of $$ per year. The change to Energy Locals was quick and easy.
Because it was recommended by RAA
Great sign-on experience
Easy transfer. Great savings for high use with heated swimming pool.
Quite ridiculous as an existing customer just moving to a different house that you close our account and make us sign up from scratch as if we are a new customer - required to enter all details such as Pension and Driver's Licence. Your competitors just require one moving house transaction, retain all our details. You were really opening the door for us to consider all other suppliers with no recognition we are an existing customer. NB - after posting above it was really nice to receive a response to apologise and indicate they are working on this issue. They are still a new company and I'll stick with them.
I joined Energy locals in October 2023 and did not receive a bill in November. When I didn’t receive one in December either I contacted them through their Messenger service to find out what the problem was. I got an initial response that I was on billing hold. The agent I dealt with didn’t know why but said she was following it up. After a week I had heard nothing so I sent a new enquiry. That was 5 working days ago and at time of writing I have had zero responses to my (now multiple) requests for an update on the situation. I will stay with the retailer because I am entitled to credits for staying with them through Tesla but would not recommend them to others at this point due to the por level of communication. I have a smart meter and am on the Tesla energy plan.
It was a great experience joining Energy Locals Simple procedure and fast. Easy to understand. Found the plan was great.
Details well set out. I have based my choice Energy Locals on its environmental and social commitments. This company is more of a co-op than most retailers. Thank you for this initiative.
I’ve already switched my electricity from my previous to my new property. I did all this in person 9 days ago. Why are you asking me to do this again? Why didn’t ur system record that this had been done and know not to send me this very late and annoying request. You’re wasting my time.
Very easy web site to navigate Which made it so easy to join Just waiting if it lives up to it's reputation Often government run enterprises are good until it goes private I suppose this is another idea from the government Good now maybe until it goes private
I really do not wish to give a review but I cannot complete the application without doing this which is something they need to remove from the process as it is annoying
Easy to follow registration details
Quick and easy
I have been pleased with the service from this company, and have had my questions answered quickly and explained well.
Easy to process!
I have just joined and hope that we have a long and happy relationship.
I have made payment arrangements so many times with this company. I have just had a lump sum of money taken out of my account without warning. I have bill emailed which states I do not have to do anything AS I HAVE A PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT. THEN LUMP SUM TAKEN OUT. Ignored the fact I make fortnightly payments. THESE PAYMENTS WERE MADE NEVER MISSED. Ignored the payment arrangement. No warning at all. Now I can not pay my rent or feed the family till next pay day. THE FALLOUT WILL CONTINUE FOR WEEKS. I will be finding another provider who can provide an efficient service. Steer clear. I have had this reply from energy locals before. A payment plan set up then falls through after a few months. Leaving me with no money at to next pay day then wanting to fix it is a no go for me. I will find another provider.
My experience was good and keeping the rates better than others competitors A+
