Review summary
KIA has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
Kia Bolton absolute rubbish. Went in in March 2024 to buy a car but the system was down so promised a call back, and 16 months later it still never happened so I bought it somewhere else, now trying to BUY a service plan and promised a call from the service team, 7 days later still no call. Speak to Kia customer service and they send you to the dealer who never call back. If this is the service they offer when I am trying to buy something imagine how bad it would be if I had an issue. I have had 4 Kia's now and this will be my last one
DM Kieth Kia Leeds.
Absolute pleasure from ordering to picking up my new car.
Tony was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and explained fully how the Motability Scheme works and how it would help me to purchase my new car.
He was instrumental in me choosing this route , as it had always worried me in the past.
Tony kept me informed regularly regarding when the car would arrive and when the adaptation work would be carried out.
The whole experience has been stress free and very straightforward .
I love the new Kia Sportage and would highly recommend the Leeds Kia dealership to anyone who wants an excellent buying experience.
I would have given them a 5 star review except for the fact that one person at the desk let them down .
I had a front camera replaced and when the work was don , the bumper was not put on straight . Had words with a certain individual that worked on the desk .
After trying to sort out the mess , I finally had a call from the service manager Bobbie !
He sorted it out with flying colours, excellent service ,polite to the point and extremely professional.
Hopefully the of his staff will take note of how it should be done .
Well done Bobbie. And thank you !
Today Monday 7th I walked into kia bristol to look at the price of a brand new picanto .I wandered around the showroom giving the salesmen plenty of time to acknowledge me AND NOTHING. I WONT BE BUYING A NEW CAR AT THIS DEALER.( shocking service) GO ELSEWHERE.
Kia Sutton Park painful- having booked the car in 3 weeks ago for a part to be fitted for the MOT. No one made any attempt to contact me prior to my appointment. I booked the day off work arrived @ 8.15 with a lift ready to take me back home to be told the part hadn’t arrived !! Then whole day until 4.45 I waited for a call for Nothing. I called them back @ 5.15 to be told they would not be able to do anything until the end of August - My mot is up midnight Saturday. Sutton Park branch rude abrupt and thoughtless about the situation they have put me in 👎 Thanks Burntwood branch I might have a car sorted for Saturday/Monday 🤞
Did my research about two of my favourite Kia cars so I was looking forward to visit Coulsdon branch this afternoon. Lovely and large dealership. I was debating to buy EV6 or trim S Sportage….once inside I had spent good fifteen minutes looking around. Passed by at least 4 sales person who were rather busy chatting to each other and playing with their phones. Not once I’ve been approached or asked of any assistance. Pretty much let down. Left buying none.
Snows, Kia, Newbury, were a pleasure to do business with. Salesman Nathan Rosier was very knowledgeable, efficient and enthusiastic, throughout the whole process of buying my Kia Sportage. Thank you, Jackis Bracey
I’ve had a few Kia Sportage’ over the years. The first was a new 2016 diesel which I had for 3 years with no problems whatsoever.
The second Sportage was a 69 plate MHEV which was purchased second hand when it was 3 years old (only 10k miles). After 3 weeks of having the car it developed a screeching noise which turned out to be a Cam tensioner issue. I found out it’s a common fault with the MHEV model and after discussing on the Kia forums it’s affected hundreds if not thousands of cars in the UK. Kia accepted it was a warranty issue and was going to fix however there were no replacement parts. The parts were stated as being on back order with no estimated delivery date. I returned the car to the dealer and traded it for a ‘normal’ diesel.
The third Sportage is a 2019 diesel purchase second hand and this has been fine for about 9 months. There were no issues with driving however the engine management light came on and the Kia dealer explained it was a faulty PM sensor on the exhaust and would be covered by warranty however there’s no replacement parts available and stated they’re on back order with no estimated delivery date!
The local Kia dealer said Kia Rental would offer me a hire car as a gesture of good will. After discussing the hire car request with Kia Rental they said they would only approve a hire car for a Kia Ceed or similar and not a Kia Sportage.
I find this really frustrating as we purchased a Sportage due to the size and family requirements, if a Kia Ceed was big enough for us we would have purchased a Kia Ceed.
Kia Rental don’t even have any hire car’s local to me and have arranged the hire car through Enterprise. I’ve now received a hatchback size car with a very low spec all the while I’m still paying finance for my car to sit in the garage due to a sensor fault and no idea on when It's going to be fixed.
I think the Kia Sportage is a good car to drive but the aftercare service from Kia when something goes wrong is shocking.
I have a Kia Sportage on a 2013 plate with notchy steering. Simple you might think , book it in the local Kia garage……. WRONG!!!. Tried over 2 weeks to book it in to find the fault.
1. Vertu Kia Bradford = no answer over several days including being cut off. Then finally got an answer only to be told the earliest slot would be 12 weeks, yes 3 months !!!
2. Perrys kia Huddersfield = no answer over several days including being cut off. Then finally got an answer only to be told that no one was available but I would receive a call back. 26 hours later and nothing so I phone again numerous times only to be told that I should wait 48 hours and only then phone back. Then promptly cut off before I could even say goodbye.
VERDICT……. What an absolute shower, customer service is a joke, they do not know if it’s a safety issue or not so obviously are willing to let someone drive happily around with faulty steering whilst they sit around for 03 months or more contemplating their navel. KIA, huh, never again. I can’t wait to get rid, frustration isn’t the word.
In November 2022 . Our car went to Kia vertu Nottingham for a service. Whilst in their care our car key came back broken. They said they would make us a new one ! We are still waiting 7 months later and many emails and phone calls later along with being fobbed off and lied to ! Terrible service
We’ve owned our Kia Sportage (65 plate) for 18 months, we purchased it second hand with a full service history. It’s only done 52,000 miles and now the gearbox has packed up, Kia will not cover this even though the dealership confirmed it’s a known fault. From reading other reviews and forums I would steer clear of these cars, it seems to be a common problem and Kia are doing nothing about it.
We are now left having to find the money ourselves to repair it, this is not what you expect when you buy a 6 year old car which has only had 1 previous owner and always been looked after.
I had issues with a damaged windscreen and contacted Kia, Bletchley to discuss. The Service Manager, Carl, was very understanding and professional. He assured me, having consulted with his boss, that the replacement would carried out at Kia Bletchley by a third party. I didn’t have to wait long for the work to be completed and Carl was very good at keeping me informed throughout.
We have a kia sportage and it suddenly developed an gearbox issue, tried booking this in for repair with several dealerships and was told the earliest slot would be nearly 2 months away. I called kia customer care uk to see what could be done and was told there's nothing we can do, speak with your local dealer. So got back on the phone to local dealers to see if a courtesy car was available as the Sportage is un drivable to be told you can only have one when the car comes into the dealership on the appoited day, that's if one is available. So now we have no car whatsoever for nearly 2 months!!! No car no work!! Thanks a bunch Kia.
Never would I recommend Kia as the customer care is useless, they just don't care about what disruption and problems their lack service causes.
The whole point of getting a Kia was for the warranty which is a complete let down.
