My heat has been out since Thursday…

My heat has been out since Thursday December 28, 2023. I reported it same day, and someone from maintenance came that Friday. They deemed it broken, and a part needed to be replaced. My heat is still currently broken today January 6, 2024. The property manager I have been emailing could not give me any information when I did finally get an hold of someone angter multiple calls/emails/and messages multiple days in a row. The prior team I rented through when initially getting into this home was “Homeriver Group” and they always responded and took care of issues quickly and efficiently. Since Darwin Homes took over this rental property the care and attention to their renters has declined. You can never get in touch with anyone. This issue should have been deemed an emergency. We have been experiencing below freezing weather and the last I spoke with someone my maintenance request was still in “pending status”. This is unacceptable and illegal in the state of Nc.

Emergency Repairs are a joke

I've been trying to get a plumber out to my house to fix the sewage backup issue I've been having for 2 days. I'm told it will be another 3 days before a plumber can get out. This is emergency maintenance? I can't flush a toilet or run a faucet without sewage coming into my yard. This is my second week at the house. What do I have to look forward to in the next year? The customer service at the maintenance team that Darwin outsources to is polite and professional, thankfully. They were even kind enough to give me a Darwin homes phone number since I couldn't find it online and Darwin only communicates via email. I've now left two voicemails for Darwin. I guess they don't talk to their residents.

Been without a good working refrigerator for almost 2 weeks

We have had an issue with our refrigerator unit for almost 2 weeks now. A technician came out and told us that the unit is a refurbished and needed to be replaced. We have had to throw away pretty much the majority of our food because of the unit not getting cold. No one seems to care about your issue. It’s either no response or it takes weeks for someone to get back with you about your issue. 2 work orders has been submitted and we are still without a working unit. We have 2 small children and no working refrigerator is ridiculous. We have wasted well over $300 in food because of this refrigerator unit not working.

Just want to tour the house

I’m having a bad first impression. Trying to give the benefit of the doubt, as I am trying to get a tour a house here in Ocala. Verifiable income 3X the rent, all the needs. But there online source of verification does not work drivers license. Tried contacting someone and they said they would push to the leasing department and they will contact me, to no avail. I see the house has been on the market for 74 days, and I’ve driven by it vacant. I’m just trying to see if it would be an ideal fit but this is deeming to be difficult

Worse company I ever dealt with!

This company is so ridiculous and is really delaying me in a lot of ways as the application is a long process and I have had multiple I mean ALOT of issues during my application process from the beginning. And still is having issues trying to close the application because of all of the issues I’m having. From transunion messing up my credit report and then finally fixing and updating my credit report yesterday to the miss communication and it taking a full week for someone to finally contact me regarding my application because it’s no way for me to call the screening team directly to the income of it taking more then 48 hours to verify the his employment when I provided the updated offer letter I was told over the phone to provide my offer letter but never once was told that my employer has to email this company for verification the man I spoke to told me 2 days later instead of telling me upfront about this and it’s just a lot of time being stalled and a lot of delaying on this process to be able to get in home I have submitted my application DECEMBER 7th and it is now DECEMBER 21st it is way passed my move in date and my application still hasn’t been resolved because of something that was not discussed to me this has been a frustrating and delaying process to me and it isn’t fair how I’m being handled it’s no way for me to get in contact with the screening team directly to resolve the issues it’s no way to get in contact with a supervisor to resolve my issues and it seems like my issues with never get resolved I will do my best to make complaints and make the courts aware of them this company is not being raned right and something has to be done with this company!

I have experienced the worst customer…

I have experienced the worst customer service from a property management company that I have ever received. I have had papers served to my door after agreement was in place. The communication has been next to none and delayed is an understatement. My property was transferred mid October in middle of messy situation with last property management I was charged eviction fees that were incorrect and before situation could be corrected property was transferred to Darwin homes. At first communication with Darwin was decent and as we got close to a solution communication stopped and is pretty much at a standstill. I cannot get ahold of anyone my account is locked and I’m due in court 12/29. I really don’t know what to do and I’m so stressed with no answers

Super rude and not helpful. They require more information than I've ever given a rental company in 14 years of renting. Seemed like they were trying to deny from the beginning.

No agent

No agent. Didn't contact me at all. I don't know whom I need to speek. Called few times, only customer service 🙄 not trained well, and doesn't have an access to answer the questions. That's what he said. Hard process. It seems to me this company makes money from application fee.Wasted time. But good thing is easy tour. Because it's not human, the touring system works good.

Jacob Naasz was rude!

I tried to work with Jacob Naasz to get one of my clients an home and he was very disrespectful. He does NOT know how to speak to people. If I could give zero stars, I would. Also looked him up and the first thing that comes up is a mugshot. Terrible experience, would not recommend.

This is a company full of scammers

This is a company full of scammers. They charge an additional $199 move in fee to ensure the property is move in ready but instead they deliver a dirty home with uncut grass and walls painted the wrong colors and damaged appliances. There is no way to contact who you need directly so they give you the run around. Stay far away from these scammers. Believe every review. I now have to pay another fee to have their property clean since I’m disabled and can’t clean the entire house on my own. They are inconsiderate and money hungry. They couldn’t even assist with setting up my internet because the service was in someone else’s name. They know nothing about the properties they rent and are rude and condescending. They have no accountability and make excuses for their incomplete tasks. They blame an entire house being dirty on “it sitting vacant A FEW DAYS”. Steer clear from this company!!!!!!!

HORRIBLE!!!

I wish I could give this company negative stars. Please DO NOT use them and save yourself the headache. Darwin took over our home the month we happen to be moving out. We were leaving the first of Nov and they took it upon themselves to break into our home 5 days early, go through my husband and I stuff and also break our video door camera. No accountability or care for the tenants and quite IMPOSSIBLE to speak to anyone. Tried to charge us erroneous money for "damages" that were never done to the home and have yet to return our security deposit or replace our camera and its been well over the amount of time Florida requires. Can never speak to or get anyone on the phone, the "managers" are always reviewing our case which is just a lame excuse. My husband and I are so fed up that we will be taking legal action.

SCAM, DO NOT RENT FROM DARWIN HOMES

Our rental house was taken over by Darwin Homes from a previous property management company just a couple weeks before our move out date. A couple weeks after we vacated Darwin followed up with a long list of repairs. We attempted to dispute these claims, explaining that the move-in inspection was done within the software that our previous landlord uses and any photo proof lies with them. That means we don't have photos locally on our devices. Darwin said they cannot proceed with the dispute without photo proof. It is apparent to me that they have zero record of what condition the house was in before we moved in a year ago, so anything they deem in need of repair is just automatically our fault? They also took that opportunity to charge us for things that were not damaged and not in need of repair. Things like new doors, garage door hardware, and new paint for entire rooms. I can't see how repainting entire rooms is necessary. Apparently Darwin is using this as an opportunity to remodel the house. There has been very little transparency on their part for what they are charging us for. They demand photo proof, but they themselves are not even providing photo proof. What gets me is if they had waited 2 weeks to take over after our lease ended then this apparently wouldn't have been a problem. SCAM COMPANY. Never EVER rent from them.

April is the only one who always answer…

I was a tenant with streetlane and ,they switched to darwin. I have had a monthly fight over wrong charges, late fees for things that are wrong. No one reponds. April is the only one who always answer me when I have a problem. She is an asset to that company. I have had SO many issues with this company, thank God for April. Your are a major asset to that company. Thank you again, for all that you do!!!!! What a horrible experience, I can't wait to be done with this joke of a company. Run fast if darwin and the joke nutiliti is involved!!!! So frustrated!!!!

If I could give no stars… I would. We rented from Renu for a year. Renu was the best! Then was transferred to Darwin Homes. EVERY MONTH it’s has been an issue!!! Literally every month since they took over the lease. My portal wasn’t working. So I sent the payment certified. The mail ran slow and they want me to pay a bunch of fees. When the postmark and receipts show it was sent waaayyy before time. DO NOT continue a lease if they are in charge. RUN!!!

I rented with Streetlane homes 1st year…

I rented with Streetlane homes 1st year great! The switch over to Darwin Homes and the nightmare begins!!! They are definitely stealing money ! I never have been late with my bills ! LITERALLY PULLING MONEY FOR UTILITY CHARGES THAT I HAVE PROOF I PAID FOR! IM BREAKING MY LEASE! I HAVE HAD ENOUGH! Finding me a lawyer!

Worst rental experience if my life

Worst rental experience if my life. You can't reach anyone and when you do you get a non stop run around. When it was time for me to move out when my lease was up they claimed I didn't pay the rent which I had proof of and are taking legal and late fees out of my deposit after I was told it was their mistake and had been handled They are a sham. Do not rent from them, ever.

Horrible rental company

I started my lease with streetlane my first year was great.. my second year 1/2 through my lease Darwin homes took over it has been hell. They charge a bunch of fees that are not in my lease. Between paying rent and utilities which is two different portals (not in my lease) there’s an extra $40-50 in fees just to pay the bill. You can’t get ahold of customer service or resident manager at all . I’ve emailed them for a week straight trying to get ahold of them and I’ve called as well nobody ever calls back . I would recommend running from this company thank god my lease is about to be up im running far away from this damn company . Not to mention being double charged for utilities as well. Any company that doesn’t let you set up your own utilities just sounds like a scam to me . Darwin homes is a horrible rental company .
