Horrible experience. The only way to get there from Madrid airport is with a shuttle( badly organized) and once we got there we had to wait hours in the sun in the queue.

Three weeks i waiting on depozyt refund . On my request I recived only automatic answers.
Malaga - Seville auto voor 10 dagen. Extra kosten: volle tank bij ophalen auto. Ophalen: >1h wachten Terugbrengen: geef ons de sleutel we mailen de rest wel --> geen mail. Bond van 1100 euro: na 2 weken nog steeds niet vrijgegeven. Contact: na 3 emails over bovenstaande bond wordt ik nu volledig genegeerd. Ben bang dat ik die 1100 kwijt ben. Ik zou Centauro niet aanraden
I’m sharing this to help others avoid the troubling experience I had with Centauro Thessaloniki Airport office. Key Warnings: 1. Centauro is NOT part of the European Car Rental Conciliation Service (ECRCS), which means you cannot use this independent dispute resolution if anything goes wrong. To stay protected, use an ECRCS member like Europcar, Avis, Budget, Hertz, Sixt, Enterprise, etc. 2. Don't trust verbal claims at pick-up. Staff may tell you to ignore marks within a circle on the inspection sheet — DON’T!!. Insist that all damage, even tiny marks, is recorded in writing. 3. Be meticulous during your inspection: o Inspect the car thoroughly, particularly in hidden or hard-to-see areas. o Take high-res photos/videos from multiple angles of even the smallest of scratches / marks. o Consider recording conversations (where legally allowed) or get staff confirmations in writing. 4. Questionable damage claims: Many reviews point to a pattern of Centauro charging for hard-to-detect pre-existing damage. It raises concerns about potentially abusive billing practices. 5. Ongoing complaint: I’ve reported my case to the Greek Consumer Protection Authority and my credit card issuer. I will update this review with the detailed outcome of my case to help others who may find themselves in a similar situation. ________________________________________ Bottom line: Centauro may seem affordable, but you could end up paying much more. Stick with reputable companies that are part of ECRCS. Always document everything thoroughly and never rely solely on the car rental company verbal assurances.
The only negatives were the very long wait (40 minutes) to collect the car keys at the terminal office, and the lack of interaction with staff at the collection / return point.
Payment and booking confirmation do not guarantee that you will receive a car! First, you may be told that the specific vehicle is unavailable. Then, the pickup may be postponed several times under the pretext of waiting. In the end, your booking may simply be canceled on the spot! Centauro Lisbon
Es una auténtica trampa. Anuncian que puedes alquilar coche sin pagar franquicia pero te piden hasta 1.400 euros. La alternativa es pagarles un seguro de doscientos y pico por 7 días, casi lo que pagas a todo riesgo por tu propio coche por dos meses. Aunque ya hayas pagado seguro con el intermediario con el que alquilaste. Cero explicaciones, encogida de hombros... una empresa a la que nunca contratar. Y un punto cada vez más común en la desatención al cliente: todos ustedes (los clientes) llegan aquí con la misma queja (¿cómo que tengo que pagar seguro que equivale al precio del alquiler habiendo pagado otro o dejar 1.400 euros de fianza? ¿Dónde estaba escrito eso en la oferta?)- pero a la hora de contratar está muy claro todo, aunque yo (el operario vestidito de amarillo limón) no tengo claro lo que contratan ustedes porque no lo he visto nunca. O, lo que es lo mismo: todos ustedes son completamente lerdos y yo añado: sí, por haber elegido a esta compañía...
J'ai loué une voiture chez Centauro à Chania en passant par le site Booking. Alors que sur le site c'est écrit que le loueur prends les cartes de débit et crédit, sur place le loueur refuse de louer la voiture au porteur d'une carte de débit si vous n'achetez pas son assurance. N'ayant pas le choix, j'ai du payer presque 200€ d'assurance, alors que j'avais déjà acheté une assurance totale avec Booking de 56€. Bref, c'est des arnaqueurs et des voleurs !!!
Absolutely no problems with reservation, car or reimbursement
The car was returned on the 22nd of June in perfect condition with a full tank of fuel and as of the 12th of July still no refund for my deposit of 1400 Euro.. Seems to be a company policy judging by the other reviews..
Près de deux heures pour être pris en charge par un agent Centauro le 26 juin . Une pression indigne pour vendre les assurances déjà souscrites auprès de auto Europe mais soit disant non reconnues par Centauro. Tout le monde était en stress , mais les employés continuaient à tenter avant tout de vendre ces maudites assurances . Montant :260 euros pour une location à 311 euros .. certains ont cédé aux menaces de lourdes conséquences financière . J’ai refusé et 1100 euros ont été bloqué sur mon compte . À fuir

Misled and Overcharged at Centauro Alicante I recently rented a car from Centauro at Alicante Airport and had an extremely disappointing experience that left me feeling deceived and out of pocket. Upon arrival at the Centauro desk, I presented my American Express credit card. I was told they didn’t accept Amex—even though my booking confirmation only stated that a credit card in the driver’s name was required. After a long discussion, the staff member offered me a €140 insurance package. I explained that I’d booked through Zest and already had excess cover, so I did not need or want any additional local insurance. Eventually, we agreed that I would transfer €1,400 to my debit card so they could hold the excess amount there. I was also asked to pay a fuel deposit, which I accepted. The staff member then handed me a tablet to sign, saying it was just for the car rental agreement. I signed it under that assumption. However, when I returned home, I received a refund of around £100 for the fuel deposit—but not the €140 for the local insurance, which I had explicitly declined multiple times. I contacted Zest, who were very helpful and looked into the matter. They informed me that I had "signed for the local insurance." I explained that I was misled: the tablet I was asked to sign had no clear indication of what I was agreeing to, and I was told it was simply for the rental. My signature was clearly misused and applied to the unwanted insurance. As it stands, I’m £140 out of pocket because of a deceptive practice. To be fair, the car itself was excellent and the drop-off process was smooth—but unless this issue is resolved and I receive the refund I’m owed, I will not be using Centauro again. A quick look on Trustpilot reveals I’m not alone—several other customers have had nearly identical experiences at this same location in the past week. I hope this gets addressed so others aren't caught out the same way.
Veldig misfornøyd med disse, hjelper jo ikke at de har lavest pris når du får mye mindre bil en du har bestilt. Har leid veldig mange biler fra andre selskaper og aldri opplevd dette før, aldri mer Centauro!
Very easy to find, friendly efficient staff. Car was immaculate and drove well. Drop off took 30 seconds. Amazing! Would highly recommend this company.

DON'T EVER RENT A CAR FROM THESE CROOKS! Rented a car via RentalCars.com in Alicante. I will not bother you with the complete story but give you a summary: (1) waiting for 1,5h to get the car because we booked via Rentalcars.com and direct bookings were prioritized by the ticket system. (2) car was not there and again delay - now 30m - to fix this (3) extra payment for younger driver (not published) (4) extremely rude people when picking up the car in the garage and speeding/shouting by employees in the garage (5) tried to rip me off by giving me a lower class car. When I complaint, they didn't say anything and just threw a new key to me (they were pissed: really?). (6) I asked for a new contract. They shouted:'already in your mailbox!' - I never got it! I send them an e-mail directly when picking up the car. Never got a reaction (7) Maybe the most annoying, it took them 3 weeks!!! to release my deposit of €1.400 after they confirmed no claims. I send them an e-mail after 1 week and a reminder after 12 days (and afterwards every day a reminder) and never got a reaction! Since today, they finally releaed it, I feel save to write this review. NEVER EVER RENT A CAR WITH THEM!!!

Centauro Alicante Airpot I never received the car I reserved and paid for. While finalizing my rental, I overheard a customer next to me being pressured into buying extra insurance, despite already having Full Protection via Booking.com (as I did). I told them it wasn’t necessary — and for that, the Centauro employee (badge 29, 3-July-2025, 18:30) snapped and yelled “You don’t get a car today. Full stop.” No clear explanation was given. I was told to "mind my business" and denied the vehicle out of retaliation. They aggressively refused service, suggested I cancel (which I didn’t), and even threatened to call the police — which I welcomed. The police tried to mediate, but Centauro wouldn’t cooperate. Booking customers were treated worse in the queue system too — I waited over 50 mins while direct customers were helped immediately. I ended up paying much more for a last-minute car, lost time, and endured serious stress. The treatment I received was not only unacceptable it bordered on abusive. Disrespectful, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.
Ich würde nie wieder bei dieser Mietwagengesellschaft ein Auto buchen. Bei der Abholung stellte man uns vor die Wahl: 1.100€ Kaution hinterlegen, aber bei dem kleinsten Kratzer wird das GANZE Geld eingezogen oder jetzt 182€ zahlen und alles ist abgedeckt und wir brauchen keine Kaution hinterlegen... Ich habe erst darauf verwiesen, dass wir eine Rundum-Versicherung durch die Buchung bei Check24 abgeschlossen haben, aber da meinte die Mitarbeiterin nur ganz stumpf, dass das nicht gelte. Wir standen da also um 22 Uhr abends und hatten keine andere Wahl, als uns für eine der Optionen zu entscheiden. Wir zahlten die 182€, weil uns klar war, dass sie am Ende irgendwas finden würden, um die Kaution einzuziehen... Jetzt im Nachhinein kann uns natürlich keiner helfen - weder Check24, noch der Anbieter. Auch die ausgestellte Rechnung, mit der ich beweisen kann, was wir bezahlt haben und die Dokumente, dass wir das Auto somit doppelt versichert hatten, helfen nicht. "Wir haben ja schließlich erst eingewilligt." Der einzige positive Punkt: Das Auto war in einem sehr guten Zustand und wir hatten unterwegs und auch bei der Rückgabe keine Probleme.
