The app is easy to use
The app is easy to use, and I was able to schedule within days. The provider is/ was very responsive and helpful.
Brightside Health has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
Therapist Joyce is amazing
I had a very pleasent experience and will be booking again!
Compassionate and honest. It’s what I need to hear and I get to say what I need to say. Thank you Brightside caregivers.
I have had nothing but very detail and understanding treatment from Brightside. I was extremely skeptical at first but k...Read more

It's awesome to be able to get treatment from the comfort of your own home, but it is inconvenient to have to make an appointment to talk about upping the dosage of current meds instead of being able to do that in the message feature
Therapist skipped out on final session. Rescheduled two of five session's. Didn’t like that a licensed therapist follows the sessions but never comes out from behind the curtain. I guess we just have to trust that they are properly licensed.
Agree with the (many) billing complaints and utterly incompetent customer service with ‘BS’ medical. Duplicate bills are the name of the game. After a month of complaints to the billing department met with a seemingly endless loop of automated messages, unreturned phone calls, and unhelpful reps. ‘Gosh, I’m so sorry’…. Etc. Avoid BS medical unless you enjoy BS billing.
I signed up for Brightside because it advertised comprehensive mental health care covered by my insurance with $0 copays. Throughout the year, I regularly attended therapy sessions and psychiatric evaluations, assuming I was covered. However, at the end of the year, I received a large stack of bills for six months’ worth of services, totaling thousands of dollars. I was never informed during the year that I was accruing out-of-pocket costs toward my deductible. Brightside’s delayed billing practices denied me the opportunity to budget or adjust my care, creating significant financial strain. While their customer service acknowledged the issue and offered a payment plan, this doesn’t address the core problem of delayed and non-transparent billing. I hope Brightside will contact me directly to work toward a fair resolution, including reconsidering the charges. I would appreciate a clear response and concrete steps to address these concerns.
They do not publish this on their website, but you will pay much more if you try to use insurance. I messaged the admin team on the day of my first therapy appointment to ask what I’d be charged. I never heard back, but I did receive an invoice for $160. In the interim I had my first psychiatry appointment, for which I was charged $198. The advertised cash price is $349 for four therapy appointments and a month of psychiatry. If I had been made aware of the price difference, I would have paid cash. I had no idea that paying through insurance would effectively cost me double. Shame on Brightside for being deceitful and non-transparent with people in crisis.
I was charged almost $500 in two days, can’t get in touch with anyone for answers
When I scheduled my therapist she did not have all the information that I already updated in the company APP, at the time of my virtual appointment the therapist mentioned she did not have any information regarding my case so I spent 15 Mins providing her with my symptoms; she kept asked me the same question for at least 3 times, Finally after that I mentioned it was not going to work for me. The company charged me $74.50 for 15 Mins when it was the company fault not providing the information to the therapist.
Absolutely horrible! Misleading and not honest about what you will be charged or that you will be charged. 1. Set up an account because they approved my insurance, Florida Blue. 2. There was No membership cost to use this service. That is what I read and understood. ( Clearly as seen in attached documents. ) 3. It would not let me proceed to set up my appointment until I have a credit card. ( Should have gone with my instinct not to but I understand a lot of people pay out of pocket and or don't have insurance ). 4. I missed my appointment due to a personal mishap and I couldn't get my phone to reschedule or cancel. Going back on the website, a couple more observations to validate my uncertainty: * They do not say anything about a $165 no show policy until after an appointment was made. And even directly after appointment was made it still didn't direct me to anything that said anything about charges or policies charges. *** Doing research and reading other reviews it is clear that this is how they do business. There's conflicting charge amounts for different reasons and they did not know they would be charged.. ) *** Bty: I didn't just carelessly miss my appointment. I was in the ER and can prove that!!! ( Besides the matter of the reason for charge. ) This is a horrible business and a horrible experience! During Christmas!!! A time I'm already struggling as well as raising my autistic grandson. I normally wouldn't waste time giving a bad review but this needs to end! This is stealing. This is unfair and dishonest. Shame on Brightside Health!
The worst mental health provider experience I’ve had bar NONE. When I onboarded they matched me with a random provider who met with me for a few minutes max. Then I was expected to re meet with him on a VERY FREQUENT cadence despite only needing basic med management. In fact when we did meet, we’d spend less than 1 minute on the phone because the meeting was POINTLESS. They also kept switching out my provider, and every time I was assigned a new one I was told I had to meet with them, which again meant a 2 minute meeting just for them to read my chart. Once I got fed up and tried to cancel, I spent MONTHS attempting to contact their customer service, all while getting increasingly aggressive text messages and emails from them about how my provider needed to speak with me. Brightside clearly preys on individuals with mental health issues. DO NOT spend your money and even more importantly your time on their SCAM of a service. I now get med management from my PCP and it’s honestly so much better it’s crazy
I think the therapist and ease of scheduling are a positive and I enjoyed and benefited from it. However, I left due to the billing practices. It is not up front or easy to view on their site. They recently billed me for something from March of 2024 (no description of what for) in December of 2024. This is after they already billed for other amounts between those times. In the end, I cannot recommend Brightside simply because of their billing practices.
The customer service is appalling. Over a year and a half ago I had to settle my balance and paid it off in full. I was told everything was settled. Keep in mind I had to facilitate every one of these conversations as they are terrified of getting on the phone. Flash forward a year and a half later and I find they’ve tried to charge my credit card several times. I then call in and say what’s going on, my balance is settled and I’m no longer a member. The staff member confirmed that this was an error, a duplicate bill was sent and I had ZERO balance. I then asked for a call to confirm when this had been resolved. No call, no help, the next morning they try to charge my card again for over $300. I then call and can’t get thru. Leave a message and no call back. I then get an email saying oh we lost these invoices but found them a year later, my colleague was wrong you do owe money how do you want to pay. Disgraceful and greedy. This was supposed to be therapy and I’ve needed therapy because of it. I’m appalled with their treatment. Luckily my credit card has issued a stop payment as they too find this whole thing sketchy. Supposedly they’ll call me by tomorrow, based on the past, I’m not counting on it. Avoid this organization at ALL costs. UPDATE: 12/20 A senior staff member of the organization contacted me. The apologized for the situation and the way that it was handled. They’ve confirmed that I owe no money and apologized for all the mixed messages. I appreciate the call, it is unfortunate I had to waste so much energy and be curt to elicit a response. I would still not recommend this organization and I am grateful that someone took the time to make things right.
Brandi is exceptional at her job.
I truly enjoy talking and working through the challenges in my life with my therapist. She really listens to me and makes me feel safe. It’s really helping me understand myself more and helping me live better.
I have appreciated the openness of Dana and the liberty to schedule appointments as needed. Dana has been helpful and respectful in each session. Not thrilled about the lessons. I’m more of a verbal person, needing contact with another person.
I have reported my therapist seemingly abandoning me three times to support and have not yet heard back. They say 2-3 business days. It has been several weeks. My medication provider is great, but my therapist and now support seem to be refusing to even acknowledge my report for which I have plenty of evidence to support my claim.
Advertised as free through my insurance and employee assistance program and I’m getting billed 100s of dollars almost an entire year later. No customer support has answered my 5 calls or responded to my messages asking for assistance. My provider was great but this program is a scam.
This company's billing department is a joke. I have received several bills last year with different plans that said they were going to deduct x amount to pay the bill that took them months to settle and bill. Then they never collected it. Now a year later they collected it all at once. And it wasn't the deducted amount they told me.
My psychiatrist listens to what's going on, listens to feedback, and responds well to adjusting treatment as needed. He's conscientious both about my comorbidities and everyday goings on. I feel comfortable talking with him and feel he does well with my case.
They do not care about their patients, only profit. This company is a wolf in shepards clothing and I cannot stress this enough that I would never recommend them to anybody that I know.
