Extremely difficult to deal with this energy provider. Customer server representatives I've dealt with are not helpful and quite rude. Impossible to talk to some regarding a complaint I made over 1 month ago. Keep getting told I can't be put through to the complaints department and that someone will ring me, which doesn't happen.
I got my Boiler serviced and it broke down inside the warranty period of 60 days. As it broke down on a Saturday night i could not make contact until Monday. As the 60 days expired on Sunday they refused to accept the warranty and insisted that I pay for the subsequent callout. Their customer service was completely unapologetic and not willing to discuss the issue. It will be the last time I will use them for a service in the future.
17 years with the company and offered a 0% discount on either the gas or electricity because we are on a prepaid meter that was forced upon us during the last recession. We feel the pay as you go meter a great way for family's to watch what they are spending but we are losing out on a 10 to 15 percent saving because we won't give that up. Definitely zero loyalty to long standing customer and when you talk to staff it's a case of computer says no and no avenue for escalation.

Avoid by all means! We have moved to a different provider at the beginning of September and still haven’t received €270 credit Bord Gais owns us. It took them 2.5 months to issue last bill, supposedly due to lack of meter reading; note: we have smart meter installed so they should have access to life readings! Impossible to get through on the phone, only was is sending messages through website. Each takes 5 working days to get a response, with useless information and ridiculous reasoning. I wonder what they would do if I owe them money for 3 months?!
Prepare to wait for an Irish lady or man, who One can relate to. Who will make an honest attempt to help. Not like the person who hangs up when they run out of ideas as they have zero accountability
Having spent weeks, not days trying to solve an issue re. my boiler. Having arranged a service call to fit 2 Hive units, the fitter arrived, took one look and said. "I can't fit this" and proceeded to walk back out. When asked why not he replied, "I'm not an electrician..." and left.
I have today found a lady called Marie Kennedy, Bord Gais customer services Ireland and guess what issue questions got answered, praise the Lord for Marie. Thank you for releasing a flood of frustration. I still have a challenge ahead when the next fitter arrives on Dec. 5th, Hive fitted or will I end up in a right hive again, time will tell and I will tell on the 5th next.

The worst gas provider in Ireland and the world. Charged dramatically over the use. They charge customers just based on their own assumption. They steal money from your pocket without your acknowledgement. I strongly advise everyone not to choose Bord Gais Energy. They should change their brand name as Looters
I signed up with Board Gais for my electricity and gas, On the 3rd of November 2022 at no stage during my registration but Board Gais sales representative, was I told that would be a connection fee on the 22nd of November I received a bill for €139.33 for site connection fees. I tried to chat with their online chat service after an hour and three minutes nobody bothered to connect with me I den spoke to a customer service representative Over the phone and was told I would have to pay be very careful of this company I believe they’re probably the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with
A dishonest company to deal with. They will paint a great picture to bring you on board but once in your on your own.

Singularly the most useless and frustrating company I have ever had to deal with. Agreed on a price plan for electricity, they were due to call me back, they didn't, I called three times but they refused to transfer me to the original person I had dealt with, they kept saying she would call me but she didn't. When I eventually got to speak with her, I was told the price plan was no longer valid and they increased my price by 30% as the time had lapsed. All customer service has been horrendous, I will pay to go with any other provider but Bord Gais, they are awful
Avoid at all costs! Was over charged for a bill in June was told 12 weeks for a refund here I am in November still waiting on a refund. Staff need proper training been told different things and different dates everytime I ring no one seems to know what they are doing. Even got hung up on by a member of staff. Overall the staff aren’t helpful or considerate in anyway.
My most recent gas bill was issued on November 9th. I checked the Bord Gais website and app in order to download the itemised bill, as it is my right to receive such under consumer legislation. Both the website and app told me that the bill wasn't ready to download and to try again. It was supposed to take no more than 24 hours. That was 7 days ago and despite several complaints to Bord Gais on Facebook, FB Messenger, the Bord Gais website, their app and by email, I still cannot download the bill. I have paid the bill amount but I am still legally entitled to receive the download of the bill. I had opted for paperless billing but as a result of the shoddiness and poor customer service of Bord Gais, I have reverted to paper billing. At least then I can see what exactly I am paying for in an itemised bill.
Absolutely terrible service. They aim to waste your time to the extent that you lose all ambition around getting an issue resolved. Three times now I've been asked to hold on the phone while service agent talks to manager for 40 mins. Each time I've been promised a call back. It has not happened. My issue is small and easily resolved. Their approach is reprehensible.
I bought a property 22 July 2022 but never lived there and got tenants in on 24 September 2022. I contacted them and they generated an estimated bill of of €350 and when I tried to give a meter reading was told I would have to pay the estimated bill as I had asked for the estimate which was untrue/
Booked an engineer to service my boiler only when they arrived say they are not allowed to climb a step ladder: Wasted a whole morning off work for this woke nonsense. Utterly useless
Bord Gais is a bad company. They often delay responses some weeks and only say general. We must resend many emails. I submitted my meter on 04 May and my meter number was appeared in my bill in May (supplied by them). I sent many email in May to complain that they counted the ratio prices incorrect.
However, in October, they requested the photo as an evidence about the number in my bill in May.
I am at a loss as to why Bord Gais energy have withdrawn their gas boiler service option. This is just more cost cutting to increase profits by gouging customers. It will inevitably lead to people not being able to get their boilers serviced. A truly disgusting company
As a business customer, I have to say something need to be done about the Board Gais web site and user platform.
It simply does not work and it is unfit for purpose. I don't trust the billing process as they seem unable to get the site to work what will they do with you bill.
Absolutely no follow up and the worst service ever.... keep clear
