I am really happy with the level of customer service Bord Gais provides. Also, the Electricity and Gas rates are good!

Shady, slow, unhelpful. Customer servie is a joke how long it takes, the bills are unclear and sneaky and worst of all the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing with the customer service. Team are nice, just a shame help was impossible.
Its no wonder they are getting a one start on Trust Pilot. I could give this company 5 minus stars I would. I'm fairly experienced and professional and in all my years can honestly say I have never had worse customer service. From non-transparent contracting and billing to a 2 month issue where I continuously had to call in and got promised call backs and never getting them, to rude supervisors. We are paying HUGE bills and are good customers but they don't give a toss! Was with a different provider for 10 years and NEVER had an issue and when we moved house we decided to give BG a try.. worst mistake.. I will pay the extra and move provider. Don't know how they are still in business but DO NOT MOVE TO BG! What is still amazing me is do the senior staff at BG not care? I have no doubt they must see some of their reviews - are they sop unprofessional that they just ignore all this? Is there no pride!
Not certain if i can give Bord Gais a nil point. Everyone that gave them 1 forced rating is quite upset. How can a company that practices with such ill intent for their customers continue to thrive. We have been customers with this coy for at least 15 years for everything energy and more so for their exhorbitant boiler services. The one time we missed our service, they made us pay dearly. The refused to re-sign us up for the 365 care until certain designated parts were changed. However, for the past 3 or 4 years or more, they have cancelled our appointments with no prior notice making it really difficult for one to plan adequately. This past year i tried to book with the home care team but they said it was too early. I later called the customer service later and was told it was already booked for late Jan. We made adjustments to our schedule to be there for this service and again without notice, they did not turn up. We called customer service and got rebooked for the end of February. The Engineer finally came in late Feb had loads of complaints about the age of boiler and the flue but did jack all to care for the boiler. Instead, he left us worse off than we ever were, with a now leaking valve and missing cap for flue which were never issues before this engineers' arrival. He issued a hazard and ended his home care service in less than 30 minutes and left. 2 calls later, to customer service, and we were told that they couldn't work on our boiler until an "RGI certified Engineer" deems it safe. This is also supposedly the caliber of engineers they purport they are sending to our homes. Am I missing something? I may have possibly cared for this boiler better myself. To put ones' faith in the hands of callous people with dubious tendencies is scary... To say that I'm pissed is an understatement. Could this be a particular staff wrecking havoc or is this just a company-wide intent to get rid of old boilers?
I do not like Bord Gais as an organization, I don't like the way this company does business, the way they treat customers, the way they bill (what they bill for at times?!) and their invoicing. Their first priority is sales, billing and credit control. This company's last priority is value for money and customer service.
Used to be their customer since switching to a different supplier they continue to delay my government credit refund of €184.37 since January Every time I call a different clueless agent repeats that the refund took place in 24 th January, just for me explain never happened and please read the notes further , always promise call back, never happened, multiple emails, no solution still on going saga,multiple baseless excuses ,always have to repeat the same story for different agents, I’ll never be their customer again, one of the worst customer services experiences Already complained to CRU and forwarded all the emails
Absolutely appalling customer service. Bill was paid in full on the 8th Feb after being issued on the 7th. They then took a direct debit for the full amount again on the 23rd. When I spoke to customer service, they said "it is your own fault for not ringing us to make us aware of the payment." When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told they said no, it's your own fault. Unreal!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Booked boiler service online, paid in full, phone number and address provided. Got a call today morning from someone in Bord Gais asking for phone number and address again, as he didn't have it apperantly. Sounded like a scam, hang up, called Bord gais number found online, got terrible woman in customer service, she had no idea what is she doing. Asked for all my details 3x times, l gave phone to my partner to discuss further, as she was the one who booked and paid for it. They simply didn't wan to talk to her. We just called to ask was it their service man who called or was it scam. Got no answer, she was repeating herself that GDPR and that she can't discuss further. We are now sitting at home waiting to see if anyone would turn up. This is beyond bad customer service. Shame on you how you treat customers, but everything have to be paid upfront. UPDATE: Service was re booked for today 27 Feb, 8 -11 am, but no one showed up. Took half day off work for nothing.

You have to watch your Ps n Qs writing a review on these clowns ..i know what i would like to say but cant it wont let me🤣🤣 but if you read the reviews and have anything to do with this circus then you deserve what you get ...take heed and steer clear.
Wished I'd read the boiler service reviews here before booking the service with them. Booked it and paid for it 2 months ago, and today they just cancelled it on the day of the servicing, to rebook it to 2 months later. Sure, engineers can get sick etc, but a serious company won't punish their customer by making them wait 2 extra months when one of their engineers get sick. Not getting the servicing in time can break the boiler's warranty, and Bord Gais shouldn't put their customers in such a position. How hard is it to set up a rota with engineers who can address the missed servicing appointments on the following day?
Had a boiler service completed on the 23rd January 2024. Downstairs heating has not worked since. Bord Gais say they can't get someone out for at least a week to look at it. They won't get anyone earlier as I hadn't paid for 24hr call out cover. I didn't know I needed to get this as I didn't know they were going to stop my heating from working! Also, if anything was damaged by their engineer, then I will have to pay to have it replaced!!! I have young kids in the house with no heating, but when I told them this, they just said they have a lot of vulnerable customers without heating. I took that to mean that they have caused problems for lots of people and as a result left them without heating.
Booked these guys and paid 100 euro deposit. The guy that came out could not have been ruder or more condescending. Instantantly dismissive of my boiler, wasn't a bit interested in doing the service, he said it looked 'old' & just pushed for a replacement. He even queried the pipework on the outside of the house. I ended up asking him to leave my property without the service being done he was such a belligerent and rude ar$3hole.. clearly trying to drum up more work for himself ( a boiler replacement). I eventually found the paperwork for the guys who installed the boiler. I called them and relayed the situation. They were a fully compliant RGI company who completely refuted the ridiculous claims from the Bord Gais salesman / 'tradesman'. They said to me the boiler was 7 yrs old but a top of the rang model, good for up to 15 years. If Bord Gais were the only Gas boiler service left in Ireland, I'd take out a 20k loan and get a heat pump. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. They are absolutely cowboys. And the lad they sent to me was an arrogant, masogonistic ar$3hole. He was clearly dragged up and never learned basic manners. And yes, I wasted a whole days annual leave for this experience.
I started a tenancy with Dublin city council, I got a letter saying 143€ owed reading unavailable. Rang bord gais to set up account didn’t want to be cut off .told it was prepay send in documents to prove start of tenancy, couldn’t find slot and no Red button. Sent in picture of meter to ask where the slot was ,not the same as on Internet. Got an email reply from phone call that details would be kept. Got reply from email to ring number to set up account,no reply to my picture and documents told I had to set up account to get rid of prepay, told the 143.53 could still be owed couldn't access my emails on phone which they received. There probably charging me for a service I cannot use.going to use an electric heater till resolved wasted 90 mins on phone and hour on emails
I can't tell any really bad about Bord Gáis, except that my KWH Price did go up to 44 Cents without Taxes. The Service has been lovely, they contacted me for a new contract and with my fixed plan on a Smart Meter, there have been no discrepancies in their readings. Because of my Home Office needs, I will have to switch the Provider regularly and definitely will prefer Bord Gáis for my next switch. Before them, I had no smart Meter and my previews Provider underestimated my bill, to shock me later on with a 4 Digit one. Against them, Bord Gáis has been a wise decision to switch to.
Absolutely appalling customer service, difficult website to navigate as well as a misleading and confusing. Your company is by far the worst for leaving customers in the dark. I am a student and this company has withheld my money and put my bank into overdraft because of misinformation with their payment methods.
I needed help with my account and when I called I spoke with Natalie. She was really helpful and gave me a lot of her time to sort the issue. She is a credit to the company
Avoid if you are booking a boiler service from Board Gais Energy/Local Heros. I booked and paid for a service. The engineer was a no-show. I phoned, got an appointment for 2 weeks later and again was a no show on the second date. I was promised call backs and never got them. Eventually I cancelled and got a refund.
No show cancellation a few hours before the appointment and actually confirmed to come when someone rang on my behalf on the same morning. SSE did the same ,same day only they don't take your payment 2 weeks before hand. Not sure if there is taxpayers money going to them but there shouldn't be any.
WORST energy company in the country! Steer well clear. They overcharge you on your bills by 100s and then send threatening letters when you can’t pay their inflated charges. I moved to another energy company this month and the bill was less than half of what these thieves were charging. Do not use this company if you can avoid it all. Really unprofessional to work with.
