I am really happy with the level of customer service Bord Gais provides. Also, the Electricity and Gas rates are good!

I'm judging them on my experience when I was leaving them. I've been on hold for a grand total of 93 minutes over 5 phone calls trying to get a refund of my money which they overcharged me. Hopeless customer service if your lucky enough to even speak to someone. Moved to energia who are a dream btw
I ordered a service package for €180 which was for my boiler to be serviced and all minor problems to be rectified. The package also included 24/7 call out for 12 months and works to the value of €1200 covered. I went for this package to give my tenants and i piece of mind for the year. The engineer called yesterday and did a basic service and told my tenants it is not a great boiler ( not a top of the range model). He didn't rectify the small leak and wrote in his notes, does not qualify for the insurance package. This is a gimmick by board gas and the will only insure boilers they know they will not be called out to fix within the 12 months. Board Gas have been out three times to do a service and charged €99 each time and were still no further along. Why cant they send competent engineers that can fix a small leak. This service is a rip off and I will be looking to switch service providers.
Stay well away from this company, they are an absolute fraud, We changed electricity providers in July of this year, bord gais were overpaid by €2068 it is now the 16th of November and they STILL have not refunded us, I have NEVER seen such insolence in my life, they should be struck off, I have contacted them ever single day for MONTHS, no accountability, nothing, just scripted responses, someone will call you, someone will email you, nothing!!!!!!! Very poor service... The service engineer called and determined with minimal investigation that the boiler was beyond repair. We then receive an estimate of over 2.5k for a new boiler. I sought a second opinion from the manufacturer of the boiler (Vokera)and they repaired and serviced it within 40min of attending. They told us that the boiler was 9 years old and would would last many more years.... Steer well clear of this service unless you want to pay for a new boiler.
I couldn't have imagined that a services that relates to basic needs like heat and hot water in winter could be so horrendous. When they arrived to repair the boiler, they advised that a part was needed that I would get a call with a quote and a new appointment for the work to be completed. The part they advised that was required is easily available through local merchants - I have checked. The call centre can provide no explanation to the lack of follow up or communication. To leave families with no heat and hot water for 2 weeks, despite making multiple calls to get an update you repeated get told that they have left a note on your file and that you will receive a call. No call ever comes. The lack of interest or consideration for its customers is beyond worrying. I am only sorry I didn't read these reviews before booking instead I made assumptions based on the brand a mistake I wont make again. Hopefully I will help others not make the same mistake I have. Avoid at all costs.
I have a level pay contract with BGE. They have kept increasing my monthly tarrif even though im constantly in credit. Currently 650e credit. Commen sense does no operate in this company. I have explained that over 4 yrs I never have been in deficit, but unfortunately they keep telling me winter in coming and times are difficult. Terrible company. Go elsewhere.
Got a pump replaced by Bord Gais and is now faulty was left 2 hours on hold to try get a service date, told if I hung up would have to queue again ! Have no heating waiting a week now waiting on an engineer to call and told I have an urgent appointment and now have to wait another 2 to 3 weeks time.I have called other gas fitters and will be out in 1 to 2 days, each day I call and told Im marked as urgent. I have spent hours on the phone to try get an appointment. Dreadful service !
Time arranged for boiler service 11am to 2 pm no show no call to say why . I took time off work , I called them 2.50 pm all excuses .Stay well away from them plenty of other reputable companies out there
After 4 years with them I terminated my contract because I got an offer with almost 30% better prices. Since August (and now it's October) I am trying to recover the 207 euro credit I have with them + 100 euro from microgeneration. I spent literally hours waiting for an operator to take the call and every time I get a new 2 weeks delay . Escalation number : 143762. If you are a microgenerator , pick another company
Eventually got through to a member of customer services, namely Geordan.I requested a deactivation code to cancel the Pay as you Go meter.He informed me it would take 3 to 4 days and he would phone me back, which he never did.Bord Gais customer service is the most infuriating experience , waiting to speak to a staff member.Enough said.
Stay away for Gas Boiler Service! They kept me waiting at home on 2 separate days. Nobody came - even bothered to call for my booking. Nothing but rubbish.
Do not use for boiler service. They turn off your heating for the slightest reason. The engineer said he put in a request for a plumber to come and fix it. 2 days later I ring bord Gáis and they say that there is no request and they don’t do any such service. I text and phone the engineer, he never answers. Today I have found my own plumber who still has to come to fix the issue . I am 2 weeks without heating with 2 young children. My plumber says they switch off people’s boilers all the time for the slightest reason and to avoid. I hope nobody else has to go through this stress and coldness hence my review. I have paid for a boiler service I never got, have been freezing for 2 weeks and still have to pay another plumber.
This is in relation to a boiler service that I had earlier this year. I won’t detail everything that happened (including last minute cancellations by BG) but a simple boiler service turned into 7 on-site visits by 4 different agents. The boiler was not the problem, as it’s relatively new and well maintained (as testified to be each BG agent). The problem was that the first guy broke it. After his “service” there was a rattle that had never been there before. Subsequent visits were a comedy of errors; making the rattle louder, breaking the immersion (not nice when your young kids end up having cold shower because you can’t get the hot water to work). End result, after many visits is that the rattle is still there and the boiler just sounds different, making noises it had never previously made. I just wanted rid of these jokers in the end because they talked the talk but simply didn’t know what they were doing. I would advise anyone thinking of using Bord Gais to service their boiler to look elsewhere, I just don’t think they are experienced or professional enough.
When they allow a €5,000 bill to go through because of a wrong meter reading. Two years of electricity in one month. To be told it's a system fault and the next bill to go up! I'm not powering the village. Their billing system is faulty, and they have no pride in their work. Bill is still not fixed. Disgusting customer service, and they do not care about any financial hardships caused. Modern-day thieves.
Absolutely disgusted at this so called company, we had our electricity with this crowd, of course we have been overcharged for months and months, decided I had had enough and changed providers, I am owed over 2200 and was told by various customer service agents, it was refunded, after much chasing to see where the payment is, I've now been told I need submit meter readings!!! Even though I have left since July and my account is in credit the above amount, basically it's any scam and excuse not to give you the money that you are owed, disgusting in my view, stay well clear of this company
Dealt with a guy Kyle who wasn't very helpful or good at returning calls and was going to move elsewhere but I then spoke to a gentleman called Dylan who couldn't have been more helpful and I am a happy customer. Ye need more Dylans working for you Bord Gais! Had originally left a 1 star review and changed it following Dylans calls.
This company have zero loyalty to there customers, I was called by the retention team and offered one price then they waited till two days after my contract was out (even though I requested a call back before this date), to put up the cost to well over what was offered days before. I have always considered this company very poor in customer service but blatantly robbing me blind is a new low even for this shower.
Stay away from Bord Gais. A nightmare to deal with. Nothing but trouble since the day I signed up. No one calls to do readings, even though I am sending in readings the bills our outrageous and fluctuate all over the place. They took a thousand pounds out of my account over and above the requested payment on my last bill. Spent 2 days back and forth trying to get my money back. They admit it was an error on their behalf but I have to wait 2 weeks for a refund. Promised a call back from a manager guess what never got a call.. I've moved but they still have my money. Staff miss in formed me didn't seem to know their own company procedures. One guy told me my bill was over 10k got on to a manager and it was a complete miss calculation. Other wise I think the staff fire fighting just to get you off the phone.. Nightmare
