Easy to deal with and professional service.
My boiler broke down. In less than 24 hours there was an excellent engineer in my house. He was incredibly professional and meticulous. I really trusted his opinion and felt I wouldn’t be ripped off or conned like I might be with private companies.
Booked my boiler service on line. I was regularly kept up to date and time of when the engineer would arrive and was on time. Great result.

Have a PAYG electricity meter with BGE in the house that I have been renting for the last 2 years. Topped up online as I do on a weekly basis and the money was debited from my account but I did not receive a top up code. Contacted BGE who tried to advise me that I was not a customer and would have to call ESB to find out who the provider was.
I'm currently looking to change providers, as I am out of contract with my current provider for the past six months. I don't particularly care for Bord Gais, but if the rates were considerably cheaper, then I would have switched to them. However, after seeing that the majority of people on this site would rate bord gais as a 0 star was that option available, I think I'm better off to steer clear of this crowd. I'm not basing it only on that. My parents booked a service of their gas boiler with Bord gais because they received a call with a special offer. My parents are vulnerable octogenarians, and I usually look after everything for them. They were told, (or they remember) that the boiler service would be put on their bill as they were already bord gais customers. A few months later, they received a letter from bord gais demanding payment for the €99 euro, or their account would be sent to a debt collector. I rang bord gais and spoke to the rudest woman I've ever had the displeasure to speak to under any circumstances, who refused to let me speak, demanding the payment only and who when I eventually raised my voice slightly, so I could be heard over her angry tones, said she wasn't there to be abused by customers and hung up. I work in customer service myself and understand the absolute necessity to listen to the customer, to make them feel heard and understood, and that their concerns are important and will be addressed. If nothing else a listening ear and a clear explanation delivered in the right tone can diffuse any situation. But this lady did not give me the courtesy of any of that. She had no interest in the fact my parents were in their late eighties and panicked when they saw that letter. She didn't let me resolve anything with her as she simply hung up. I'm not abusive, or even aggressive and I don't shout, the aggression on that call came from her. I think in this instance now, I'll simply move on to a provider that will treat me with respect and deal with me in a fair manner. Such a pity, but unless and until Bord Gais get their customer service in order, I think I'll be steering clear of this crowd.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY by ordering a service by them. I booked for a boiler service and paid online. The engineer came to my place and just looked at the boiler and said we can't service this type of boilers, please contact the company for refund (they don't determine the boilers that they actually can servic when you book a service). Since then I've been in endless phone calls with then, minimum 30 min wait during each call, asking a million times my details, and they just say some meaningless apologies for waiting and we will back to you. AND NOTHING HAPPENS. Every time I have to go through the same process like the first time I'm calling them. This is worst worst experience with a company in Ireland.
Friendly staff great service
Robert was fantastic, really lovely and easy. Arrived on time, rang ahead and worked quietly without any mess. He went above and beyond and even noticed a nearby alarm as out of battery. Our hot water is suddenly so much hotter too.
I keep getting emails to book a service, and have tried to use the on line booking option as I work full time and can’t really be left on hold for any considerable time, their customer service hours are so inflexible and trying to be responsible by having the boiler service is at this stage a non runner.
Worst company ever here in ireland i was calling them today and there was an indian girl talking to my it was hard to understand what she was saying ... i am looking at my bilk and it going up and up every month paying now 200 for no reason 😡😤 will change to a different company because this company only wants more money from ther costumers i am with them fir more than 10 years and look at this !!!
I wish there were an option for 0 stars. This company has the worst customer service. Since I decided to switch with them it has been an endless cycle of issues. Their attractive prices come with free stress for their customers. I am 1 such customer who fell for the trap. First, they took months to set up my account. And now they sent me an estimated start bill with an incorrect meter reading and since then I only get sorry, or apologies and we are looking into the issue answers from their customer care. They have a customer charter commitment or something where they say if they fail to respond to the billing queries in 10 days then the customer is entitled to €30 credit which I asked them about since it's been a month since they didn't resolve my issue. They came back saying that you are only entitled if they failed to respond to the email. I mean seriously? They will always respond with generic answers and take months to resolve the issue. It would make more sense if they failed to resolve the issue within 10 days than apply the credit. And the worst part is their customer service agents will say 2 different things on 2 different occasions for the same issue and lastly their callback hopes where they say they will give the customer a callback and never do.

Excellent and timely callout. No fuss or upselling, the guy explained everything that had gone wrong and that I had actually turned the settings off for my hot water. Great to see such honesty.
I have my boiler cleaned every year with Denny from Bord Gáis in Navan.. He's a very responsible, competent and conscientious professional, as well as being polite and on time always.. Very good addition to your team.. Pass this to him pls..
Bord Gais need to do something about their service considering the high costs of gas & electricity!!!! Very bad PR- have read the recent reviews, not looking good!!! This company needs to get its act together!
Booking the service was easy, and the engineer arrived as scheduled and was very efficient, helpful and pleasant to deal with.
I just contacted bord gais to close my account and was met by the kindest customer service representative I've ever had. Aybuke was extremely friendly, kind and worked quickly and efficiently to help me with all of my questions. She is a credit to BordGais and I hope that they recognise individuals like Aybuke for how valuable they are for the company
Have been with BG for a while now and find the services to be excellent value for money as well as annual checks and repairs on the gas boiler I had requested are done to a high standards, feel as a customer to be well looked after so good job BG.
