Generally happy with Bord Gais as our chosen electricity supply. Let's start with the negatives, Customer help desk is obviously overwhelmed and doesn't have enough staff, takes ages for them to come back to you, they don't always listen to you even when the errors are on their part. They don't react fast enough to matching prices from other suppliers. We have been with bord gais for years and when you think you may leave, they don't try to retain you, doesn't feel like they value their customers. Now the good point is their rewards clubs, great offers occasionally for the bord gais theatre but despite me telling them for years rarely offer discounted matinee shows which are more family suitable if you live a couple of hours outside Dublin and have to travel home. Have used the home insurance discount but do miss the Tesco clubcard link up which they used to offer.
Very pleased with the pricing on the dual fuel plan we're on with Bord Gais, saving a lot versus other Irish gas and electricity providers and their customer service is excellent.
Got a phone call offering a deal on a boiler service, was extremely easy to book and get a date and time that suited. The boiler engineer Henry was extremely thorough and was so nice to deal with.
Engineer arrived on time and serviced my boiler in an efficient manner.

**Edit** After Bord Gais responded to my message here and invited me to get back in touch with them, I did. And was swiftly sent another stock email giving them another ten days to respond. It is now over ten working days since this I received this reply and I have heard absolutely nothing. Minus another 10 stars** Only because I cannot give zero stars. Moved out of a property in February with over 2k in account credit. Submitted meter readings as requested online. Bord Gais then refused to pay back the credit and keep changing the reason why. First it was that I did not submit a photograph of the meter with me holding the daily newspaper on the day I moved out (I am one person, ground level meter and poor access to do this). I then submitted a photo of the meter taken by the landlord (had a date stamp on it). This was refused. Six calls later to different members of the team and various promises to pay the credit back have all failed. Infuriating. The team on the phone even suggested doctoring images already sent which I have refused to do. Phone operators do not seem to have any problem solving or critical thinking skills, it is just 'computer says no' and pass you on to the another department. We are now at the end of June and they still refuse to pay back my money.
Punctual and professional boiler service provided. Useful advice given when an issue found with the boiler. Easy to use app to book boiler service and follow up repairs/replacement.
Absolute shisters, only swapped over to them 1 month, fast talking sales person with all the buzz words what they do versus others. Got the first bill and no micro generation details when I rang was told they only show those details every few bills. Will be going back to my old supplier tomorrow NEVER AGAIN Sent two emails following the scripted response about my microgeneration credit and not even a reply, looks like I’ll need to take this further now with complaints and or legal advise
The engineer arrived well within the time I asked for, he contacted me before he arrived to let me know what time he would get to me at. He was a very nice person and very polite. He serviced the boiler quickly and efficiently but covered everything that was required from the service. When finished he left everything as he found it. I was very happy with the appointment.
I recently had to change my review. When I first switched to Boardgaish it looked like my first bill it's going to be issued after four months, but they gradually extended the period between bills so I didn't even noticed significant difference.
As a result of the service on the gas boiler I have no hot water. I need this to be corrected immediately.
I have a BGE annual service plan for my two boilers (split system). Unusually, I overlooked booking my service this year (as I had been expecting to upgrade the system but that has been delayed). I received a reminder from BGE and was able to book a service (there had been a cancellation) on a Saturday at a couple of days notice. The engineer gave me the option of an earlier time slot; worked quickly, efficiently and tidily; explained the results of the service comprehensively and was professional and friendly. I strongly recommend BGE’s boiler service plan; I have had it for a number of years and have always had an excellent experience. In my view BGE is an excellent service provider with a proven track record.

The worst company I’ve come across in my life! I have an email thread of over 50 emails dating back to February, I’ve provided multiple meter readings in multiple formats, I’ve confirmed my account details on several occasions and they continue to send me around in circles and will not update my reading / bill, which is “estimated” and triple what the bill should be. I’ve asked for an official case number so I can escalate to citizens information which still has not been provided. I had to chase for months for my account to even be fully set up on their side and now I’m wasting more time being given the runaround rather than answering my emails and resolving the issue.
