I shopped at Zooplus for over 8 years, spending thousands of euros there. The service was never very good, but the prices were OK and so I put up with it.
Well, after the recent experience I will NEVER again shop there.
I placed an order for dog food, and chose "service point delivery". When Postnord attempted to deliver the package, they said it can't be left at the service point because it weighs 20.1 kg, and the limit for that service point is 20 kg. I tried to book home delivery, but this also failed because they were trying to do home delivery but to the service point. So the package ended up at a Postnord office 2 kilometers from my home. I called Postnord and asked if they can change the address and send the package to my home, and they said I need to talk to Zooplus.
I called Zooplus, and they said that they can't change the address because this "costs money". I then told them to just give me a refund, and they said they can't do that until they see that the package is being sent back to me. So they instructed me to call back a week later.
Today I called back, and an extremely rude person told me that they cannot issue a refund until 14 days after they have received the package. I was flabbergasted. "You should have called us earlier," she said. I told her that I had called them earlier, and her response was, "I don't know who you talked to, but these are our company rules." I told her that this is not acceptable - none of this was my fault. It was not my fault that they chose an incorrect shipping method for a package that was too heavy, and that I shouldn't have to wait for a month to get my money back.
She told me to "please calm down" and that she was going to hang up on me. And she did. She hung up on me.
I have never before experienced such treatment from any customer service. I am never, ever going to buy anything from this company again. In fact, I will close my account - assuming I can do this without having to talk to their customer service.
