Travis Perkins Plymouth (Sutton Road) have been absolutely amazing, going above and beyond to help our youth theatre bring a performance to life at Totnes Castle. Matt and Mack have borne been so helpful and giving of their time and energy, Mack single handedly delivered Heras fencing up to the castle in the heat, thank you!
I realised I had made a mistake with an online order for 4 fence panel's when I received a text notification of the date of delivery. They were due for delivery from a supplier in 2 days time. Slightly stressed, about the possible cost implications if I was too late to cancel the order, I had a problem as the website contact number was incorrect. I had a call with Mark (workington Store) who put me in touch with Stuart ( Online team) who sorted it out for me. He cancelled my order with the supplier. Both were friendly, understanding, professional and quick to act. Thanks for great customer service. Lynn
Travis Perkins Rhondda are superb. I have been buying stuff here regularly for when I visit to help get my daughter’s place sorted. They have simply been great from the start. Advice on setting up an account, making it easy to order with them, helpful when I go into the branch. Friendly and accurate info always supplied. Bought from them over six times , had deliveries four times and all gone perfect. Danny, Ryan and the rest of the team, I thoroughly recommend you.
I had an urgent need for bricks and building sand, as I had my bricklayer for a few more days.
I called the Canterbury branch, and Mike was invaluable; he visited the site on the same day to ensure I could obtain the correct bricks for next-day delivery, as the bricks I had ordered would have taken another week to arrive. The delivery driver was also very helpful. Best team ever.
Got through to Beth in customer services this morning who was super friendly, proffesional and sorted out our query which was quite urgent for us within minutes! This has massively helped us out and we really appreciate Beths service today! Thank you so much for acting so quickly to turn things around for us!
I placed an online order for only 2 items. (The website confirmed the stock level when I ordered)
I drove for 30mins to my nearest branch to collect the order, only to find that 1 of the 2 items wasn’t in stock. The shop assistant said he wasn’t surprised and that happens all the time. Really?!
If Travis Perkins can’t facilitate an online system, then stop doing it. You don’t get that service from Screwfix, Toolstation, Argos or any other online retailer.
After a mountain of paperwork and changes to a very small order, I then had to drive to another branch to collect the 2nd half of my order.
What was going to be a 1 hour return journey, turned out to be just under 2 hours.
‘Time is money’, and in hindsight I should have paid extra and bought the items from a more reliable online retailer and had it delivered.
I’m giving this review 2 stars because the staff corrected the issue, but the system sucks, and I won’t use it again.
I regularly do small building project so have tried to use TP before, with generally poor results. However, their Pontypool branch is conveniently located so when I needed to hire a floor sander I thought I would have another go.
Submitted hire request online and received automatic response saying someone would be in touch. No one contacted me. After 10 days, and nearing the hire period, I called the local depot. Phone answered promptly but after explaining my reason for phoning was just put on hold. Spent 15 minutes listening to a taped message telling me how great TP is. I hung up.
Such poor service - rude and unfriendly. Won’t be wasting any time on them again
I would give less stars if I could, but I have to leave at least one. Travis Perkins have conned us out of nearly £3k through either incompetence or negligence. Items that we PURCHASED were continually invoiced for hire. When our office picked this up and brought it Travis Perkins attention it took them 8 months to look into - during which time they continued to generate further invoices for said items, sent threatening messages for payment, and eventually froze our account. They have not offered any refund and have now closed the inquiry. We are a small family business and this has cost us dearly in an already difficult time.
If you choose to use them please make sure you are handed paperwork for your order and check it is correct before you leave! Conveniently for Travis Perkins we were not given paperwork for our transaction - only the person who off hired the items for purchase to us knows why. We have been left with no proof, nothing we can take to court. This is not the first time mistakes have happened. Regularly hired items have been over hired - invoicing us for longer than we have had the items. I hate to think how many times these have slipped through the net and not been picked up.
I would avoid at all costs. We certainly won't be using them ever again!
Ordered online from Worcester branch and selected a Saturday delivery. Didn't get a call/email to confirm so called them at 8:30am on Saturday to confirm and was told that they had just picked the timber and ìt would be delivered that morning. I called again just before 11am to check progress to be told it wasn't put on the lorry and wouldn't be delivered until Monday pm. COWBOYS....let's see if it arrives then.....more than 28% of ratings are 1 star for TP....no wonder... please don't send a response requesting I send an email to customer services...it's just a pithy response to make the organisation look like they may actually do something about it.
I have used my local Travis Perkins twice over the last couple of months.
Helpful beyond belief, friendly and much cheaper than B&Q, of whom I have received the most atrocious service.
I wish I could give TP 11.4 out of 5!
