Firstly, Princess Cruises turned out to be quite unreliable. We had six shore excursions planned, but the most important one — viewing the glaciers and icebergs — was canceled without adequate explanation. Another excursion, originally meant to take us to the city of Victoria, was substituted with a visit to a much smaller, unremarkable location, the name of which we don’t even remember. For these cancellations and itinerary changes, we were given just $200 USD per person as compensation — and even that had to be spent onboard. This felt insufficient and disappointing. Secondly, getting access to drinking water onboard was surprisingly inconvenient. Guest cabins were located between decks 6 and 14 (we stayed on deck 8), but the only place with self-serve drinking water was on deck 15. Each time we needed water, we had to carry our own thermos all the way up, and elevator wait times could be long. Alternatively, bottled water (800ml) was available at the bar for over $3 USD each, but the bar staff were not always honest. On three occasions when two bottles were purchased, the family was twice charged for three. Refunds were only issued after complaints were made at the front desk.

Very disappointing.

Very disappointing. This is the 8th cruise we’ve been on (including others from the same group - Royal Caribbean & Celebrity). The ship (Sun Princess) is nice, but unless you are a meat eating American who likes X-factor style singers it isn’t for you. The breakfast consists of around 20 stations, 17 of which seem to serve variations of exactly the same thing (bacon, sausage, beans, egg - and pretty much in the same format - e.g. there are no poached eggs or eggs Florentine.). The buffet for dinner and tea is also poor. Same every day, and not great quality. It's also very bland. There are a couple of token Indian dishes, and even those are bland too. The entertainment is naff singers for the main part. We had 2 dreadful comedians. The only bright spot was the magician (Mike Bones) who was great. You have to pay for shuttles, the sunbeds get nabbed and left reserved all day without Princess doing anything about it, and even the kids sports area has basketballs but no football! It’s like non-Americans and non-meat eaters are second class citizens. Even the sandwich bar often only has a choice of meat sandwiches half of the time. On top of that they force you to carry a tracker, and they state on their app that they are capturing your facial recognition data (no idea why, but it surely is unnecessary and seems a breach of privacy). I asked for a normal card rather than the tracker pendant (which is magnetic and emits EMF) but they said I couldn’t have a card. I was looking forward to better entertainment and much better food, but left disappointed. This is the worse cruise we’ve been on for food, sport, entertainment and privacy. I’m posting the review here, rather than at the end of the cruise, as if my experience with Celebrity is anything to go by, they tend not to bother listening to genuine feedback.

Realice 3 cruceros con Princess, el primero en 2023, a Islas Britanicas en el Regal, 15 dias. el segundo en 2024, trasatlantico en el Sun Princess 17 dias, el ultimo en junio 2025, fiordos, en el Emerald, 17 dias. En el ultimo note una baja muy importante en calidad de espectaculos y comida. Estos 2 itens para los cruceristas son importantes. Los espectaculos con excepcion de una cantante, creo que se llamaba Lynda Evans, mediocres. Un hipnotizador que se veia claramente el engaño y encima lo repitieron. Un coro y musical de los propios tripulantes, imaginense. Y otros por el estilo. La comida. Mucha comida de olla y aspecto regular para abajo, los primeros dias habia salmon, despues lo remplazaron por otros pescados de regular preparacion. Carne poco. Fruta siempre verde. Postres repetitivos. Un dia nos ofrecian croisants del dia anterior. Y varios dias faltaron. Entre los puertos, habia 3, de pequeños pueblitos con muy poco interes. Hubiera sido ideal, sacar por lo menos 2 e incluir 2 dias en Oslo. He viajado en MSC, Norwegian, Celebrity y pense que en Princess habia encontrado mi naviera Premium. No es mas una compañia premium.

We booked the Princess Premier Package…

We booked the Princess Premier Package and for 2 days now they've blocked my stepsons medallion insisting he can only buy non alcoholic drinks. He's 28 years old!! The ship is tired and a lot smaller cabins than other cruiselines we've used. Spent more time at guest services than enjoying the actual cruise

Scandinavian Cruise.

Just got back from a week's cruise aboard the Enchanted Princess in conjunction with Imagine. The ship was built in 2020 but, due to Covid was laid up and has only recently started back sailing and ship was immaculately presented throughout. Absolutely delighted with everything from the moment we boarded. Staff were terrific, always polite and pleasant and ready to help. Restaurants had comprehensive menus, with plenty for everyone. There was something going on all day with plenty to see and do. The evening entertainment was exceptional, with Michael Ball being the main attraction. Can't wait to sail with them again

Been on many cruises. This was the worst ever.

Sailed on the Royal Princess on June 4th. Never again with this cruise line. Food was terrible, guest services were terrible, medical service was terrible and my complaints to customer service fell on deaf ears. I waited 4.5 hours for someone in customer service to answer the phone. When they finally did answer, all I got was lip service. You have been warned.

Never go on a cruisetour

My wife and I were on a cruisetour that started on may 25th on the Grand Princess. First I want to tell you that shipboard everything was so great and beyond my expectations for my first cruise. I really enjoyed every minute on board and the crew went above and beyond. I really want to continue cruising with your company for this alone. Our problems began when we started the land portion and arrived at Denali Princess Lodge. They were very understaffed and many things were not open or not working. This resulted in long delays at most points at this lodge, especially in the restaurants. Much of this can we understood with the covid issues but we would have liked to be prepared for the issues and may have changed part of our land tour. The biggest problem happened on the last day there. We had a 10am departure time and assumed that getting breakfast at Fannie Q's saloon should be doable 2 hours before. When we arrived we were told it would be a 45 minute wait and were ok with that. 1 hour later the wait was still not done. As we were sitting there we saw a group of 7 come out with 9 to go containers. I thought we should do this as well since we had to leave in an hour. I approached the front desk and asked about togo containers. I was told that they did not do to go because they wanted to make sure that they had enough food for those seated. I expressed my confusion since there was a group that sat outside with containers eating. I was told that the Manager made an exception for them. I asked to speak to the manager. He came up and I explained that I would like to get some containers to take our food with us because we were leaving in an hour. He stated that they do not do that. When I told him that a party was seated outside with containers eating from them he said sorry but he would not do that for me. I felt very discriminated against at this point and asked for his boss. He stated that he was the food and beverage manager and his only boss was the resort director. I went to the front desk of the lodge and asked for the resort manager. I was told that she was not onsite yet and would be in between 930 and 10. I asked if she could get in touch with me and they had me leave a note. To this day I have yet to receive a call from anyone. I work as a manager for a large foodservice company and know that this would never be an issue . We would contact anyone with a problem and try to help them. We continued on to Mount Mckinley princess lodge. They were short staffed as well but our experience there was 100 percent better. The staff there seamed to be working extra hard to make everyone's stay great.

I purchased refundable airline tickets from Princess Cruises and they have ripped me off

I purchased refundable airline tickets from Princess Cruises on Air Canada for June 18,2022 flight from Rome FCO to Ft Lauderdale Florida. About six hours prior to leaving Air Canada notified us there was a delay that would have us leave late in the day on June 18 and we would be stuck in Toronto Canada over night and there was no flight for us scheduled for the next day June 19,2022. So Air Canada was unable to give us a booking from Toronto to FLL on June 19 to return home. So I bought Delta airline tickets for $1399 each for two people so we could return home on June 18,2022. I contacted the booking agent of Princess Cruises, Jerrilyn, who had sold me refundable tickets for exactly this type of huge delay. Princess sent me to AON Trip Insurance and I filled out all necessary forms and had pdfs made of all documents needed including the adelay # that The Air Canada agent had provided to me that assured we would be completely refunded. A month later I have heard nothing from Princess Cruises which is the correct business that is in charge of refunding me. I paid for two refundable return tickets from Rome Italy to Gt Lauderdale, Florida through Princess Cruises. Princess Cruises lacks integrity and is not an honest business. Princess Cruises encouraged me to purchase our plane tickets through them because if delays or cancellations occurred I would be completely refunded. Princess Cruises claims they stand by their product but they do not.

Return from my "Enchanted Princess" cruise

I have returned from my "Enchanted Princess" Cruise from Southampton June 17th-24th. They have since taken a large sum of money in Sterling from my UK credit card, and I seem to have no way of obtaining a breakdown of that debit. or the amount in dollars that represents. Odd how everything was in dollars, and now suddenly I get a Sterling debit with seemingly no way to see how it was calculated or converted. When on board, one could see every day (in dollars) what was being costed. The Medallion app doesn't allow me to see it either. And it says I have been on no cruises! I have tried calling the UK telephone number several times, but have now given up. The last time, after a 21 minutes wait in the queue. a man answered and said he couldn't hear me (I could barely hear him either) & said he would end the call.. Hopeless.. I have tried complaining via their online "contact us!. I got as far as a from that needed to be completed. I did that and at "click to submit" it refused with a message "We were not able to submit your passenger information because there was incorrect or missing information. Please correct them before you re-submit the from". I tried again, checking everything I'd filled in, but the same message always came up. So no way to complain..

Coral Princess from Brisbane

Have just completed a 7 night cruise on board Coral Princess from Brisbane, all the ship was open and operating as pre-covid, no staffing issues at all. Main dining room food was not as good as usual standard. Covid safety was very good and everyone had to wash hands or sanitising prior to entering dining venues. Staff were constantly wiping down handrails and elevators. Medallion and app works great and is a great addition to the cruising experience, love the ability to order anything and have it delivered to wherever you are.

Severe fall in standards.

We are elite customers. 84 and 79 ages. Medallion - despair. Embarkation - appalling, queued for 1 and 1/2 hours, no seating, others queued up to at least 2 and 1/2 hours. Offered a free drink at dinner, we on unlimited drinks package - joke?. Dedicated staff, obviously understaffed and many not fully trained. Wi-Fi so poor the medallion did not function in many areas on staff equipment, heart breaking for them. However we made sure we experienced an enjoyable time despite the aforementioned. Many other severe reduction in standards and service, too many to mention. Disembarkation was good as indeed it usually is. No idea what our final account is/was. Not received discount on expensive tours yet. Review of cruise info. seems to have disappeared. Not happy to write this as we have had many superb all round cruises with Princess but must stress the negative comments are only a fraction of the total. Update. Four days at home,, still waiting for final account. Seems Princess have stolen our money. Luckily we paid by credit card so Barclaycard will have to sort Princess. Why no minus star for appalling standards and service?

Shame Cruise was Good but do not appreciate being cheated at the casino then when complain my complaints ignored and questions not answered even with proof of cheating by the casino YOU HAVE NOT ANSWERED ANY OF MY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE ILLEGAL CHARGES I HAVE GIVEN YOU PROOF THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAY 40 SPINS AT 40 CENTS PER SPIN ON THE SLOT MACHINE IN LESS THAN 1 MINITE FOR $20 PLEASE SEE THE FOLIO INVOICE OF ALL THE TIMINGS $20 WAS CHARGED AFTER GETTING A PRINT OUT ON THE 3 RD DAY WE STOPPED USING THE CASINO AS I DO NOT APPRECIATE BEING CHEATED AND ALSO SIGN IN WITH ERROR KEPT COMING UP THIS HAPPENED ON MANY OCCASIONS AS PER MY PREVIOUS EMAILS WHICH YOU HAVE IGNORED YOUR AGENT Faith Maroyi-Zingoni HAS ACTED IN A MOST UNPROFESSIONAL MANNER NOT ANSWERING ANY OF MY QUESTIONS I WILL NOT LET THIS REST AS I HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE BUT TO ASK THE MARITIME COMMISION TO HAVE A FULL INVESTIGATION INTO THE WAY YOUR COMPANY OPERATES AND ALSO PUBLISH THIS ON ALL REVIEW SITES TO ADVISE ALL PRINCESS PASSENGERS TO BE AWARE HOW THE CASINO OPERATES WILL NEVER BOOK ANOTHER CRUISE WITH PRINCESS IF THIS IS YOUR ATTITUDE IN HOW YOU DEAL WITH GENUINE COM I am utterly disgusted & appaled at your attitude with regard to this serious complaint you have not answered any of my questions and you have the audacity to decide this case is closed it appears you think you can cheat your passengers on looking at articles written on cruise critic it shows that global casino is not registered and can set your own payouts and rules how you like as you are not under any authority to regulate this is not lawful and I intend to make public how arrogant you operate Due to this response I am now requesting my credit card company to put a hold on the charges as advised by the gambling casino regulator in the Uk who have also advised me to contact the Maritime Commision to look into this serious breach of trust

This is a 7th day of our 14 day Mediterranean…

This is day 7 of our 14 day Mediterranean cruise. Well things have not improved. I have had a very disappointing cruise thus far. The food is not brilliant. Two evenings ago I ordered a main course which was totally blund that I could not eat and a main course which was to be jerk chicken with beans and rice again I could not eat it. It was not spiced but it was sweet. It’s meant to be spicy but a baby might have eaten it then died because the chicken was charred but uncooked on the inside. I enjoyed the cremebrûlée which was superb. Hardly a dinner to go to bed on. All the other issues remain. The app is still not working. I hope Mr Donald is reading these because they do not reflect his dreams for this ship. He should be embarrassed to say the things he does about his ship. The entertainment has been poor to say the least though I did enjoy Gareth’s concert. Today’s breakfast was delivered by confused waiters. Breafast was delivered in all about turns but we got there in the end. Lunch has been from the delivery service due to restaurant being closed which is nothing like what I ordered. The sandwich was disgusting and the crème caramel was over baked and hard. I am not sure where the one guest who gave this ship a six came from but either he has been bribed or he is simply satisfied with crap to put it bluntly. My concerns are consistent with everyone else's that I have spoken to. Stop licking backsides and speak the truth. You will not be getting a free cruise anytime soon. I would not want it anyway. Again I really must thank the crew staff they are working so very hard. They are wonderful people who work hard every minute of the day. I am no longer going to complain to the management here because they don’t care. I will however collect evidence as I go along. Choose wisely people.
