Horrific! Never use this company!! The worst I have ever used. Still have my money and not delivered the goods. They should be in court.

I ordered a basket to be delivered on the 24th. Not only did it not get there but I heard nothing. Nothing on the 25th. Finally after spending close to $300 to courier rush a gift for the 26th and sending an email to the company stating that my gift had not arrived, on the 29th I received a smug response saying it was delivered on the 26th. I asked for a full refund and was told simply the delay was to be expected due to the Christmas rush. This is my second time experiencing issues with this company. I’m confident that they prey on unsuspecting consumers by taking orders they know they cannot possibly deliver on time. I would encourage anyone reading this review to choose another vendor. In addition to posting reviews, I think we should really take action when we are wronged by companies who take our money and don’t do what they are contractually obligated to do. I have filed a complaint with Consumer Protection Ontario. I am not able to post links here but if you just google Consumer Protection Ontario you should easily find their website and the complaint process is rather simple. It’s time we as consumers had a voice and shut down predatory businesses like this.
Avoid this company! They have the worst customer service you'll ever experience. Hazeltons delivered my parent's anniversary basket 3 days late without explanation and didn't include the wine that was ordered. They refused to take any responsibility and immediately tried to close the file. Then they insisted that I somehow prove that the wine was not delivered. The back and forth went on for days! Their customer service rep was shockingly rude and incompetent. Hazeltons finally admitted they didn't send the wine and then closed the file with zero compensation, which is consistent with all the other complaints I've read about them online.
Horrible service, fraudulent claims & reviews, avoid! Ordered a gift basket online on a Wednesday for a Friday delivery. Gift basket wasn't shipped until Friday -- no way to make a Friday delivery, then they blame the shipper... really? Now I can't get a straight answer -- no refund, no credit, nothing. The reviews on their site are paid reviews, not accurate. Avoid this company -- horrible customer service!
Ordered basket in October for DEC 19th delivery, basket i received was not only late but addressed to and from totally different people. The basket was from and for somebody else and not the one i ordered! When i finally got in touch with someone i was given an explanation on the substitution policy ( which had nothing to do with anything since hey sent me someone else's order all together ) and informed me i was not entitled to a refund! I sharply relplied and have herd nothing back since. This company should not be used!
Terrible, terrible experience. Order came late, no shipping notice as promised and had to call to check shipping status when order was late. Baskets addressed to wrong parties as ordered. Cheap pepperoni sticks like the kind you buy at gas stations when it was suppose to be Italian dry salami as advertised for the “Rustic Italian GOURMET Gift Board”. Never again.
I wish I could give zero stars, NEVER buy from this company. I ordered my daughter in Canada glass Santa boots, full of red and green lollies. A huge Santa balloon and a bottle of Australian red wine. She got yellow tail wine, no balloon and two smashed glass Santa boots and pink lollies. After lots of emailing by myself and my daughter, they sent out a new set of glass boots EMPTY. So she was expected to eat the first lot of lollies covered in glass. Plus no balloon apparently you just pay for them but the recipient never receives it. DO NOT EVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY
So I should have read this before ordering. As Canadians living in the USA, trying to avoid the monster Amazon, we usually used Harry and David's. H & D decided to only deliver to large capital cities in Canada (there should be a law against this kind of commercial disregard for customers while abusively gouging profits without offering service). Hazelton's is terrible. I ordered a basket (quite overpriced for the contents) on December 3rd and here it is December 24th and it hasn't been delivered. Yet 3 days ago they advertised the same basket on the site with a deep discount of 40 USD and claimed that it would be delivered for Xmas. And don't bother trying to get in touch with them. A standard email is all you'll get with no answers. And there is NO ONE on the live CHAT line. So apparently they don't mind making you wait forever to discover there's no one there. Why is this place still doing business? Don't buy from here. This is crappy service and from what I read, the items are crap as well. Overpriced, No service. Lies lies lies.
I worked for Hazelton's (they also have another company run by the same owners called Yorkville), and along with many others, was responsible for putting together the gift baskets that people would order. Basically, there would be invoices scattered all over a table and you were responsible for creating the basket people had ordered. Half of the items people ordered were not available and when you would ask managers and owners they would tell you to 'substitute' items (which I believe is written in fine print upon ordering). They would make you substitute things like chocolate cookies for crappy expired salt crackers. The worst part of the company is that they would remove items from expired packaging and place it into new packages. ALSO, if you are ordering Kosher food... more likely than not, you will be receiving non-kosher food. The owner has been scamming people for years, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.
Please avoid buying anything from this company! I ordered almost 1500$ worth of gift baskets for my business clients and not only did they send the wrong items (I ordered kosher and they sent non kosher items) but they failed to deliver my items to a few clients. you would think after spending that amount of money they would make sure all your baskets are delivered . This company is a scam they dont answer my emails or phone calls. THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. BUYER BE WARE. I am soo upset I gave them my business NEVER AGAIN! Dont trust them with your money.
They advertised FREE shipping with any $100 purchase. However, they came back and charged me shipping to 3 locations because they said shipping was only free on 1 item orders over $100 - my order was 3 items. So a $100 order, turned into a $259 order, and they charged my credit card the extra shipping without my permission! I called and cancelled the order, but they said the only way I could get my money back was to place another order (which I was fine doing 1 order). However, they have NEVER refunded me the money from the original order to my credit card. A few days later I get notification that all 3 are shipping. I called to STOP the orders and they said they couldn't pull back on the orders (so my recipients are going to be getting 2 things, 1 from this crappy company and the replacement orders I did with a reliable one). I have called them, talked to them through their chat, and emailed at least 5 times and they refuse to work with me. I am now going to dispute it with the credit card company. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
This is a scam company. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING. I ordered a birthday basket for my son. None of the basket contents which were advertised were included, chocolate had been opened and was broken, old and inedible. It was five days late and required several calls and confirmations. The company claims to be in Toronto but my basket was shipped from New Jersey. I filed a fraud claim with the credit card company. Use any company other than this one.
Simply awful. What beat the terrible quality of the vanilla cake - was the ignorance of a company who has either lost the plot of good customer service or never had this in its’ core principles in the first place. I spent a significant amount on flowers, fruit and flowers for a birthday. And the cake absolutely failed. And Hazelton’s doesn’t not refund nor stand behind the quality of its’ cakes. If they make a cake that tastes awful - then buyer beware. They claim these are made fresh and I believe them. They are made fresh at one time in their shelf life and delivered many days later. A worse cake - I have never had. And worse yet - it was expensive. Would encourage anyone to avoid this company. Take seriously the negative reviews which proliferate online.
I really wish I would have read this site before ordering from Hazelton's. DISASTER. I ordered a $200 basket to be delivered to someone in our corporate office. She never got it. Hazelton's "proof of delivery" is the opposite of proof of a delivery (no signature, no name of a human it was handed to, etc.). It's now the weekend, so if this was in fact delivered somewhere, then wherever it is, it will be certainly be ruined by Monday. Just lost $200. STAY AWAY.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY THEY ARE CRIMINALS. Hazelton is the worst company I have ever experienced in my life. I ordered a basket to be delivered to a friend had got engaged. I paid for next day shipping but it was only sent 4 days later. When she received it, it was completely destroyed. I immediately message customer service asking for a refund. They asked if I wanted another basket sent, i said no because the occasion had passed. I sent them an email as they requested with pictures of the destroyed basket. I heard nothing back. I then got a message from my friend saying she received a second, even worst basket. It has been 2 weeks since I asked for my refund. I have called and email over a dozen times. No one responds to my emails. Every time I call I am told a different excuse as to why my refund hasn't been processed yet, "but they are working on it". First it was the shipping department I had to wait for (for some mysterious reason), then it was the complaint department.... I speak to the same person every time I call; I doubt the company is so large that they can't communicate with the different "departments". I would consider this business to be negligent, unprofessional and even criminal. I have wasted so much time trying to get my money back and at this point I am being flat out ignored. Be critical of the positive reviews for this company- they are mostly fake.
I paid for a custom basket for a diabetic senior and asked for soft fruits like banana and mango, and I paid and extra 15 dollars US for a singing ballon. Almost 90 dollars total and they sent a basket full of APPLES AND CHOCOLATE....and a basic balloon. I paid 90 dollars for a basket of garbage that the recipient was not able to eat! Their excuse was that they can substitute for “like items” without even letting me know?! How on earth is chocolate and apples anywhere close to soft fruit and specifically NO CHOCOLATE? When I reached out to explain that this was not what I ordered, they basically said they can do whatever they want and there was nothing I could do about it! I expected more from a Canadian business! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE THEIVES!
I ordered a custom gift basket from Hazelton's in the beginning of the week. Today I spoke with the recipient and she said she was really impressed by the packaging and selection of wine and gourmet food. From the conversation I can judge that this was really the case. Also basket was received at appointed date and I spoke to customer service prior to that to make sure the delivery will be as expected. Overall I can confirm that this is a top service with excellent selection and impeccable execution.
This is truly unacceptable service. I order a Birthday gift for my son. ONE YEAR in advance and they still managed to fudge it up. Never have I ever received such poor service. Then they had the gall to send me an e-mail asking if I was pleased with the service. I called to let them know what I thought about them but they refuse to answer. Simply awful. P I S S P O O R. Never again. The least they could have done was to advise me that I was not going to get what I ordered and give me the opportunity to choose something else. What a waste.so sorry I hadn't read these comments before. Something should be done, too many customers have been duped by their website.
I ordered pink roses to be sent to a friend in Calgary Alberta for her seventieth birthday. Instead of roses an orchid was delivered. The delivery took place 2-3 days after the promised date of delivery. Hazelton's never explained the reason. They also did not post my review which they requested that I give. It was a totally negative experience!
I ordered a gift basket wine cheese and cheese board for my boss on her birthday to which she never received. This is the first and last order I will make and am shocked I have not even received feedback from my email to customer support. The driver who was supposed to deliver the basket was rude and non cooperative with the receiver. Advised that he would leave the basket at their front door to which when they came home nothing was there. I work for a huge corporation and place orders frequently with multiple delivery services in the Toronto area. I also rarely make reviews good or bad. This was a horrible experience and it would be appreciated if management is aware of their poor non responsive customer service. I will not recommend hazeltons basket delivery to any fellow colleagues or friends.
